Great oysters. The best on the east coast, however, the phone number is incorrect on Yelp. The phone # should be 631.765.7994

Harbes Family Farm's Barnyard Adventure in Mattituck is an absolute gem for families visiting the…read moreNorth Fork in the fall! I brought my niece and nephew, and we easily had one of the funnest afternoons! The Barnyard Adventure is a paid area ($28.95 per person on weekends), but with eight acres packed full of things to do, it's worth every penny. To put the size in perspective ... it's like exploring six football fields lined up together! The highlights for the kids included getting up close with a variety of farm animals, a trike track, sports zone, and multiple playgrounds, pig races, a musical hayride ... there truly is something for all ages. The atmosphere is lively, especially with those pig races and musical hayride tours. My niece and nephew were totally engaged from start to finish. There are plenty of food stands throughout the property with the classic farm favorites. Apple cider donuts (my personal fav), popcorn, ice cream, and coffee stands for the grown-ups. Speaking of adults, a huge bonus is the vineyard right on the property. I treated myself to a glass of rosé to enjoy while the kids played, which was a nice addition. It does get busy, but the whole setup is well organized that it does not feel too crowded. Barnyard Adventure is one of those rare places that charms both kids and adults, making it a perfect fall or weekend family destination. I can't wait to come back next year for more memories (and donuts) with my niece and nephew!!

Loved this place for kids! I thought it would've been a bit pricey with nothing but honestly we…read morespent nearly 6 hours there. With access to leave and come back, which we loved, we enjoyed hayrides WITH a singalong! Animals, a lot of games, bounce pad and more. Everything was super clean and exactly what you think a farm should be hahahh. The workers were all sweet and kind. We did enjoy a cup of there chocolate chip cookie. Very good. You can bring in picnic food if you wish, but they had hot dogs and basics to purchase as well as a small farm stand in the front. I would highly recommend for families with children of various ages but more geared toward 10 and under. Cant wait to go back again this summer.

The farm store, where you pay on the honor system (places like this make me so happy), also has kimchi, eggs, frozen meat of various kinds, and a few baked goods on offer. Just be careful when exiting the lot. If you have a non-SUV, you're likely to bottom out. p.s. Friends just stayed at a separate apartment adjoining the main home on the property and it was quite charming. The creamery / dairy farm also hosts full blown farm stays, evidently. p.p.s. I scoped out their website after our friends stayed at the farm and had to share this page (https://calfandclovercreamery.com/cows) describing the beautiful calves with their beautiful mamas, who are responsible for this delicious milk. We caught a glimpse of them out back! Read about the Madre method for milk sharing, which Calf & Clover practices. Pretty darn neat.
