Found a spot a block over. The place is nice and spacious, dining area had a fireplace, bar area had some high tops. Service was pretty quick, our waitress was very nice and attentive, our cocktails came out shortly after ordering. We ordered the Chicken and Lemongrass dumplings, they were very good. Perfectly steamed, they were plump and not oily with a nice dipping sauce. I had the Asian Tuna Wrap, on which I drizzled the dipping sauce I saved from the dumplings earlier. It was magnificent. My better half had the Fried Chicken Boom Boom sammich and it was beautifully fried. I had a bit of it, and it too was fantastic. Added this to the short list of restaurants that we'll frequent on the way to Custer.

Love this place. The owner PT is very friendly as are Jack and Isabella. The food is very flavorful…read moreand well seasoned especially the Cheeseburger and Philly Cheesesteak. I frequent them daily except on mondays when they are closed. I see many reviews complaining about the pricing but let's be fair here. $20 for a sandwich is not expensive when you consider that they pack their regular sandwiches with so much meat that It basically comes out to 2 sandwiches worth of food vs one. They also use high quality meats. If you don't want what amounts to 2 sandwiches of food you can order their mini sandwiches which are actually one well packed sandwich for cheaper than most establishments on the north fork charge for one sandwich. I met the Owner PT on my 4th visit to wayside and having read the reviews beforehand I can tell you he is anything but rude, a very friendly guy. It has led me to believe that the negative reviews about him and his prices are most likely coming from the snob enclave of the North Fork, AKA Greenport. If you want great food, good portions and being serviced by a staff that works hard and gives you bang for your buck then this is the place for you. If however you are a Karen who thinks flavorless food at cheap prices is more your style I suggest hitting up Cracker Barrel.

It was an ok pasta dish but not even directionally close to the classic. Ice Cream dessert was Ice Cream. Hard to mess up. Bill for two people with one cocktail and one glass of wine each...a heart stopping $500. (Including 20% gratuity for the servers, who were very nice)

We finally made it a point to come out early and find out what the buzz was about. First, the building is beautiful and the grounds look very well maintained. The staff is friendly and the bar was very well attended to, judging from the crowd around it. The menu has a nice selection of items, and we focused on some sandwiches, a salad, and an appetizer. I have to say, the marinated brisket burger was better than I expected. Nicely fatty and very flavorful. I ordered it with bacon, just because. My better half ordered the French dip, and she tried to finish it, but couldn't. Half was packed to go. All in all, it was a great dining experience and we'll make it a point to be back for sure.
