It never feels too busy- in fact it felt kind of empty. Soooo many families with young kids- staff was so good to them! Rooms were comfortable, simple and adequate for what we needed. One of my favorite amenities were all of the bonfire pits. We had a blast making smores and sipping wine by the fire as the night cooled. We will definitely be back and would recommend to all but especially families.

The grounds are well maintained in a natural setting. It's within the Peconic Landing senior living center but is near the front entrance a distance from the center so it appears as a private estate. There is plenty of parking accommodating approximately 1,000 guests attending the concert and fireworks. The outdoor concert was well performed and honored the military with songs from each service and asked the men and woman who served to stand up to a round of applause. Parking was easy but getting out was a bit chaotic but expected when 100's of cars leave a venue at the same time.

Valerie and her team were so great and worked with us over the past year and a half to create what many of our guests have told us is the best wedding they've been to. What a beautiful and versatile setting. We had about 140 guests and rented a tent for the rear slab. We were married on the front steps and had our cocktail hour inside Brecknock. Their bride/groom suites upstairs worked out very well for our wedding party. We had our photobooth in the parlor on the way to the bathrooms. Definitely consider holding your event here if getting married on the North Fork!

We had the place to ourselves at first, and spent time getting to know Perry, a woman whose family has owned the operation since 1974. She said most of the buildings date back from the mid 1859s. Entertainment was also provided by 20 chickens (17 hens and 3 roosters). The wines were wonderful and lovingly explained by Perry. We left with a red and a white, and a feeling that this had been a very special hour.

We were deciding between a few caterers and had a tasting with the Perry's that just sealed the deal. My (now) husband and I walked out of there saying it felt like we just had lunch with our aunt & uncle, it felt like we had known them that long! They are two amazingly warm people -- of course it helps that John is incredibly organized and good at his job and that Nikki makes the most delicious bites. We devoured every little last bite at that tasting.. Nothing went to waste! John was so helpful with everything leading up to the day of as well, from picking out rentals, to working out our timeline. We decided to have a different format (cocktail stations as opposed to a formal sit-down dinner) and working together, John helped us make sure we'd have a smooth flow and that everything would go off without a hitch. As we were working out the details with the rentals, I never felt like he was pushing me one way or the other -- even when he put together the list of kitchen items they'd need (my venue did not provide any set-up), I knew he was being careful about not over-ordering. I really felt like he had my best interests in mind at all times. Having him to coordinate all the details made me feel at ease.. I knew I was in good hands! On our actual wedding day, we were so well taken care of. The staff made sure we were eating (haha, doesn't always happen at weddings!) and everything ran so smoothly. Later in the evening, a very traumatic family emergency happened during the reception that put a frightening pause on the celebration. John was a rock and I really felt like I looked to him for the "What now?" John & Nikki were different from some of our other vendors with whom we'll probably not be in touch again. Including guests fighting, domestic violence and barking dogs. You will get ZERO relaxation and the staff rolls their eyes when you complain about it. To say the experience was horrible is an understatement. And for $1800 for 2 nights they don't even have a pool or a restaurant or a beach or anything. Just a food truck. I don't know how this place stays in business honestly. I complained to the manager multiple times while we were there to please move our room because the people above us are purposely stomping on the floor to ruin our weekend and they were very nasty about it and unsympathetic. They said we're full and can't move you. I complained I wanted a refund and they sent a big pre written email that was clearly written by their lawyers to avoid having to issue anyone refunds. And as per their horrible reviews I'm not the first person to complain about their paper thin walls and ceilings and I definitely won't be the last. That's why they have a professional letter from their lawyer to avoid any refunds. And their tates cookies in the room for $18 are actually $4. I found the exact ones in stop and shop for $4. What a scam. Would not recommend this "boutique" hotel at all. Go to Greenport and stay at Harbor Front Inn for a positive experience you will feel good about.

An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. The photos show food at $100 for two people. It was filling, but a very sugary filling. The decor is cute, but some details could have been better. For example, the tea cake tower is black and modern-looking and honestly, not cute or matching. Some light piano music softly playing in the background would have been nice. The customer service is fine. We did street parking and while we came at a rather odd time, we still got a bit of traffic due to construction. Overall, I really enjoyed tea time at Sweet Marie's and would consider coming here again for a special occasion!
