Excited to come in for dinner with my husband and daughter. Waited at the door with no acknowledgment. Saw waiters walk by and someone standing at the bar top who seemingly otherwise unengaged. Not even a little nod. Just was a little odd so I walked over. Didn't acknowledge we had been just standing there and only directed us to sit on the couches. My husband is pretty easy going but he was the one who wanted to leave. Never a good sign so I followed suit. Disappointed by the overall lack of warmth. For what it's worth, they lost a customer from the neighborhood.

Little Oliva is new and frankly, I'm a little bummed that The Appetizer is gone but The Little Oliva is a decent replacement. Anyway, what's the move here? I dunno, do you want fish, lamb chops, or pasta? Maybe you can get all of the above if you go with friends or family. The meats are pretty decently cooked and the seafood pasta was not too bad either. It's all a pretty decent meal in a very relaxed setting whether you sit indoors or outdoors. With that being said, PV is lacking in restaurants that try to provide good food AND ambiance and Little Oliva is trying to bridge that gap so thanks for making PV a little more interesting in the realm of food places!

Dining room facing the courtyard was so light, bright and cozy on a cold, windy evening.

What a breath of fresh air! This charming restaurant is clearly a labor of love for the owner(s?). The dining room and courtyard have such a wonderful ambience, homey and warm. The food is excellent, and the prices are so reasonable, especially given the quality and portion sizes. We felt so cared for and appreciated as we enjoyed soul-warming lentil soup with delicious bread; delicious branzino with lemon caper sauce, asparagus, potatoes and small salad; beautiful chicken-spinach ravioli in a lovely pink sauce (4 sauce options and 2 ravioli flavors offered); incredible NY cheesecake with a caramel sauce that added a perfect note; and a creamy, delightful Vanilla latte. The hardest part was deciding what to order! Must go back to try the meatballs, the Caesarina salad, the tiramisu...

I got the ravioli of the day which was $16 and it was truffle mushroom cheese ravioli! It was super delicious!!! It had an amazing flavor profile and would get again. I wish it came with more raviolis. I ordered it to-go and it took about 10 minutes! The inside was fancy and welcoming. The staff was super kind and attentive.

I dropped by this place randomly after Pilates. It's a cute restaurant inside, it wasn't crowded so w was seated immediately. I ordered a berry smoothie to drink a salad and a prosciutto pizza. I loved the salad alone and could have just eaten that. The dressing was light. Since there was no pizza oven, the pizza was just ok. The service satisfactory. I would go back for the salad but wouldn't be inclined to try anything else

What a hidden gem this cutesy small restaurant is! I've been here a few times now and have not been disappointed at all! The food is always a slam dunk, the environment is really nice, they have their indoor seating & a really cute patio area in the back to eat at as well! It's been tradition now to order the margherita pizza as an appetizer because it's so delicious, so perfect and simple! My favorite entree dishes I've tried so far definitely have to be their chicken and spinach ravioli & the Barcelona chicken wings, both were absolutely delectable! Also very kind servers when we go in that are very helpful, it's safe to say I will definitely be back & am certainly looking for to it! :)

Cute spot on the hill that's nice for lunch. Remind me a lot of Yellow Vase. Parking - we went for a Thursday lunch and were able to park on the street ok. Food - They give you delicious olives and pita bread when you first sit down. I got the Mykonos eggs which were flavorful and packed with veggies and feta, the potatoes they were served with were really yummy. I ordered a green iced tea which came sweetened which was a little odd but it was ok! Service - there was only one waiter during our time there and service was unfortunately pretty slow and they made a small error with our food but it wasn't a big deal so we didn't bother to let them know (ordered truffle fries but got regular fries instead). Nice addition to places to eat on the hill, great ambiance and vibe as well!

Everything here was delicious! A little restaurant in rolling hills. The parking was a bit confusing where I parked outside and tried to get in from the patio, and I had to go back down and enter from the street side lol But the interior was adorable and setting in such a cute way! The food was super delicious. Good portion! Such a cute place!

Sadly, my second experience at this restaurant was far from what I experienced the first time. In fact, it was a very bad experience. To tell the story, we came in here, placed the order. We were giving our lattes straight away, but then we waited over 35 minutes to get our hummus wraps. Isn't creating a wrap very easy? Instead, we sat while we heard the staff laughing and joking and walking in and out of the kitchen area and generally messing around. Equaling, a very long wait before our food ever arrived. To make matters worse, from where I was sitting, I could see through the window in the kitchen door and one of the servers was brushing her hair in the kitchen. Isn't that a health code violation to brush hair in the kitchen? That fact is, the food here is good. But, who ever is managing the staff here is really doing very-very poor job. The upper management should really take a look at what's going on and the way their staff are treating their customers. As a new restaurant, in a location that has had several restaurants come and go at this location over the past few years. I think the management really needs to take a look at what's going on.

New spot. Lovely atmosphere. Modern decor. I like the gray and bright yellow colors of the interior. Service was friendly and efficient. Complimentary pita and olives at the table. Latte was good, so was the food. Mediterranean. Didn't quite know how to eat my entree. It was a lot of food on top of a lot of bread. Side potatoes delicious as well. Clean restrooms. Always a good sign. Nice outdoor dining area in the back as well.

Eggs, Mediterranean salad consist of cucumbers & tomatoes n potatoes over gluten free toast. $18.

The ambiance is very nice and chic. The food is good, just doesn't really match with the price and quality. Not the most gluten and dairy free friendly place, very little options. Service was not the best because they were lack of staffing and probably wasn't expecting that much of a crowd when I as there, but nice server overall. I had 2 eggs over a gluten free toast with a Mediterranean salad n potatoes, $18. To be honest, I could make this at home... wasn't wowed by this place.

Sat in the pass and meatballs were tough, lukewarm and dry. No parm was offered.

So always interested in something new in Rolling Hills and thought after letting the dust settle we would try it. This place is part of the Yellow Vase group which frankly I find boring and pedestrian. Well that would have been nice if the food we had was that good. Nice ambiance and attentive if imperfect service but the food taste was bland and pricing/value well below appropriate for what was provided. We came on a Friday night and it was about 1/3 full. Everybody was at Giorgio's or the Red Onion which were better options. We had the fennel salad for around $17 and it was very bland. No offering of any fresh ground pepper which it could have used something. Got their parm truffle fries and they were decent albeit not special and severely under seasoned. No salt or pepper on the table so had to ask for them. They were good at keeping the small no ice water glasses filled which was good since they only held about 6 ounces of water. I had spaghetti and meatballs because I was in that rare mood and my wife had linguine in some sort of cream sauce. When they brought out our salad and fries they had her pasta with them. In no way should the entre show up with the salad and appetizer. I told them to take the pasta back and they did. When we finished the boring salad and saltless fries the pastas arrived. Clearly they had been sitting as they had that look. Her cream sauce was already breaking and my meatballs were dry and even with sauce were not good. Too tough and lacking in flavor and were lukewarm warm. Not the worst meal I've had but this is one to check the box and move on from. Nice enough people but not very ambitious food. Oh yeah no fresh Parmesan offered with either pasta. I know I could have asked but if they can't figure that out I'm just not going to tell them. Should have let it be reflected in the tip but I still went 20% as the servers were at least nice and were on top of that small water glass! Portions were not large and that was ok based on the marginal quality. My wife had no interest in coming here but I wanted to try it once. Looks like I will hear about this one for a while. $85 later with no dessert, app or any drinks I'm giving a generous 3 stars.

Exec summary: cute little restaurant adjacent to the library Ambiance: Think sort of a jazzy yellow vase Food Mediterranean inspired dishes The lamb burger was quite good The pizza, however, probably best avoided. The dough appeared to be made from regular flour. It wasn't spongy enough. And, for a Neapolitan style , wasn't thin enough Service Awesome The vibe is very nice. The clientele seemed right out of yellow vase (elderly ladies of palos verdes) I liked it. I'll go back. The brick area of pv is a neat little strip of fun

I wanted to follow up my very short review that I wrote about this restaurant over a decade ago as I have continued to frequent this restaurant and I have always enjoyed their food. What they offer here is a really nice selection of Mediterranean-based cuisine. They always use the best ingredients, and the food always arrives with a great presentation. Mostly, the food here tastes very-very good. And, isn't that the right reason you actually go to a restaurant in the first place? This is a family-owned and operated business. From this, you can really tell that everybody who works here really cares about the restaurant and the customers. Thus, it's always a great dining experience. Their menu offers a really nice selection of everything from gyro's to kebabs onto salads and the like. There's a really nice choice of both entrées and side dishes for you to choose from. The one thing I will say about this establishment, and this is certainly not a criticism, but whenever you eat here, they always keep the food coming. Whether it is the pita chips, the pita bread, the whatever, when you leave here you are going to be very-very full. This restaurant is located just off of Hawthorne Boulevard and a block from PCH. Thus, it's very easy to find. In terms of parking they have a parking lot over to one side of the building. You could always find a spot there. They also have a number of spots on the street, in front of the restaurant. This is where I always prefer to park. Easy in, easy out. Overall, if you're looking for some great Mediterranean-based food, this is the place to go. You will not be disappointed.
