It was pretty clear that the cashier did not want to be there, and he told the person in front of me he was out of certain bags already, and it was still the afternoon on what I assume is one of the busiest days of the year. I got a paper bag for my bottle of sparkling wine that looked like a brown bag you'd take your lunch to work in. There are other liquor stores near here with a much better selection. I won't be going here again.

This can be attributed to the buying power of Wegmans and having a good relationship with the chateaus there. Also because Century was previously owned by Sherwood Deutsch, a pharmacist turned wine merchant who also had established close relationship with Bordeaux winemakers since the mid-1960s. Sherwood eventually sold his wine business to the Wegman family in 2007. If you go all the way to the back of the store, there is "The Sherwood Room" which houses a lot of their higher end wine. It's quite impressive to see as a self-proclaimed wine nerd. Anyways the selection is great and their prices are often better than what you can find online. They also have knowledgeable staff. John McMahon in particular knows his stuff regarding wine, so ask for him if you're in the store with questions regarding wine.

It's convenient for me because it's located in Tops Brighton Plaza and is on the way home from work for me. They stock most of the red wines I drink consistently: Simi, J. Lorh, Josh.
