Let's be honest, I love all liquor stores and I frequent them. Especially when traveling. I was pleased with the size of Marketview and the various portions that the store had. Recently I have been working on another photo/video project. And a computer specialist, close friend, pitched in on some graphic work for me. Well being holiday time, me loving to give, I stopped by Market view Liquor. This friend is a special friend, and I wanted to add a touch of class to my thoughts, gift to him. I asked 1 of Mike's good employees (they all are) if he could direct me to the product I wanted as well if I could speak to Mike, the owner. He said wait a minute sir, I'll check. Moments later the young sales person came back Mike will see you sir, and right down the aisle Mike was walking to me. He greeted me and I explained what I wanted to do because I couldn't give my gift to my friend personally. I said that I'd like someone in the office to call my friend, introduce themselves and simply say there's a gift here for you. Mike said Nick, I'll handle it myself for you. We walked together to the cashier, I paid,and Mike said to his clerk, this is a special order, gift wrap it and I'll place it in the gift bin. Very frustrated! I ordered my mom some wine. I understand that under the current conditions in the country, there would be a lag in orders. I placed my order April 5th and it still hasn't shipped to my mom. This is not acceptable. I would have cancelled the order but I really wanted to surprise her with her favorite wine but also, I couldn't via the website. When it comes to liquor stores, i generally choose wisely. This is probably because of some terrifying experience in my youth, when I traveled to Los Angeles, which left a permanent imprint on my mind. Just know that I like my liquor stores clean, and trouble free. Marketview Liquor meets those meager standards. I digress... So it seems like I practically live in Henrietta these days and Marketview is a convenient stop when out and about. It is located in the old Tops plaza right behind the Verizon Wireless store. The products are all reasonably priced there and they have a rather wide variety. I prefer this liquor store to the Wegman's affiliated Whitehouse Liquor nearby. Customer service here is a bit tricky. They always seem overly staffed. Some days when i visit, a hundred guys (since that's all that work on the floor) will ask me if I need assistance before I even make it midway through the store. Other days, such as today, I walk past twelve people and nobody bothers to even say hello. On one occasion, when looking for a dessert wine, as a gift to my brother, the staff member pointed me in the general section, but left us hanging as far as recommendations and the specific row of their small selection of dessert wines. If there is one critique, it is that their customer service is inconsistent. However, if you don't mind this, it is a good liquor store to wander around and check out a variety of products. read more

It arrived hot and every bottle of wine tasted like vinegar. I sent an email to them and after 2 weeks have not even received an acknowledgment. The staff here is AMAZING. They are so spot on with recommendations and helpful when you are looking for something. I had someone go the extra mile to find a bottle that I had recently tried at a tasting and was too stupid to write the name down. They literally pulled out a map of the fingerlakes, had me find the winery on the list and then proceeded to look up the different wines from that specific place. I loved and very much appreciated the effort there. The selection is incredible, I love the way that the place is organized. A lot of the wines are very affordable and I have found some of the bottles to be cheaper at Marketview than other places by a few bucks. read more

Store employees are so helpful and knowledgeable if you need advice on what to get. In the battle of liquor titans you'd think it would be tough competing against Rochester's well-loved Wegmans-associated Century and Whitehouse, but Markietview holds its own and more. The location is just off 390 which is convenient for many (avoiding the Pittsford plaza after-work booze rush) and I find Marketview has a better selection of foreign wines and a more convenient and well-labeled layout. Helpful staff and clear/consistent price by shelf (lowest shelf lowest price). They carry all the standard stuff and has different distributors than Century so I expect to see some different variety between the two. Depending on how fanatical a fan you become you can order wines and such off their website :) but be aware the shipping is not cheap. read more

Really awful experience, they did not ship the wine, would not answer questions, they simply stopped responding. I had to contact my credit card company to have the charge reversed. Here's the timeline (cause I like facts): Jan 4, 2018 - Ordered wine online Jan 5th - Received a message from them that they could not deliver until the weather storm on the east coast was over. They said they would resume shipping on Jan 8th (this was from Pierre P. Frantz, 888-427-2480 ext 1) Jan 10th - I emailed asking for the tracking number (just so I could keep watch for the delivery date). No response from them Jan 16th - Received an automated email from their delivery survey company "Shopper Approved" where they ask if I have received the order, and if so, to click the confirmation link and if not, to wait 24-48 hours before contacting them. Jan 19th - I emailed again asking for status and a track number. No response from them. Jan 21st? - Instead of the customer service email they had used on the Jan 4th response, I used the "contact us" form on their page and let them know I would contact my cc company if they did not respond. They did not respond. Jan23rd - I submitted the request to my cc company asking for a refund. So for an entire month they basically did nothing and ignored all contact. Waste of time, I would buy wine elsewhere for sure. There's no excuse to ignore a customer and as you can tell from my communication, I was not abusive. Huge selection + super helpful, knowledgeable staff = always a win. I love wine, but I embarrassingly know next-to-nothing about it. The wine guys here (who are plentiful and wander the store waiting to lend a hand) have never led me astray. All I need to do is describe what I'm looking for or pairing with and my price range, and they lead me to the perfect bottle (and sometimes for cheaper than I ask). There's a special room in the back for Truly Expensive wine that I've never been in; maybe someday ... Most recently, I've taken to buying a nice bottle of wine that will last a decade as a bridal shower gift (to open on the tenth wedding anniversary). There's a lot in the $35 - $50 range. The only thing that I wish is that more of the wines had labels saying when to drink them. Some say "3 - 5 years" meaning don't even think about opening for 3 - 5 years; others say "3 - 5 years" meaning the wine might turn if you wait more than 5 years. But the wine guys all know what they're talking about and can help me decipher the cryptic codes. read more
