This is the Key Biscayne, Florida Crandon Golf Course Clubhouse restaurant. As the golf course, it is a public restaurant. The setting is wonderful in plain view of the golf course situated between the 1st 9 and bottom 9 holes. The food is good and well priced and the service is prompt and friendly. Both the golf course and this restaurant are well hidden secrets as they are located on the island of Key Biscayne which is a few causeway hops from Downtown Miami and the glitz of South Beach. I usually go for the Turkey Club sandwich and the Fish Ceviche. They don't disappoint.

Our office holiday party was held here - beautiful venue, friendly staff. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor.

The restaurant is on a UM campus, and can be a bit of a challenge to find. It's also not quite a restaurant, more like a cafeteria. But the view is beautiful, and the food was pretty great. They have a good selection of items for lunch at reasonable pricing. I got a chicken Caesar wrap with tots. So many tots and SO good. My husband got the fish tacos, which were delicious. My daughter got the chicken tenders basket. It came with 4 tenders, and they were big! The fries were also great here. I can't speak to the bar, since it wasn't open when we were here.

Aaron is wonderful to work with, communicative, and super accommodating. Whether we needed to bring our own little desserts or to come see the space set up for someone else's wedding, he always made it work for us. He worked with us to customize our menu and we were super happy with how the food turned out. They can do a lot in house, cutting down the need for more vendors and planning and making the whole thing super easy. For us, buffet dinner, appetizers, dessert, open beer and wine bar, linens, tables/chairs, and venue rental were all included in one very reasonable fee. They're easy and pleasant to work with, and if that wasn't enough, the waterfront view is incredible. If you come during a grad student happy hour, just know that the place cleans up into a beautiful and classy venue very easily. A million thanks to Aaron and team for a wonderful experience start to finish!

The menu was overwhelming but in a good way, so many options that sounded so delicious. However, it was a weekday so i inquired about them having happy hour, which they did but they didn't initially give us the happy hour menu when sitting us down. The happy hour specials and prices were just too good to pass! We truly enjoyed every single food item we ordered, which is quite rare for me and my husband. Food (1-10) 10 the best Appetizers - Honey Biscuits (10) - Hot, fluffy, and the strawberry preserve made me have a flashback moment to my Grandma's house. 1) Chicken & Waffles (9) - Hot, crispy, & moist especially the breast. Seasoned well enough but the honey hot sauce added that extra kick. Waffles were fine and the watermelon cubes did not work for me. I observed several other people's plates, and most of them did not eat them. 2.) Braised Short Ribs (9) - My wife's favorite. "Lord have mercy." The meat was so tender, seasoned and the mashed potatoes underneath were spot on. Great dish 3) Salmon - (8) - Good, a family member main course. They were raving about it. 4) Brussels sprouts & Fried Okra (10) - Both were in a small cast-iron skillet. If you're from down south you know what that means. Hot, crispy, and seasoned to perfection. Somebody on the Sous-chef line knows exactly what they are doing. Service - (8) Friendly & attentive server. Now they automatically tack on 18% gratuity and ask for an additional tip. Also, the sales tax is ridiculously high. Not knocking the hustle but I don't want anybody to be surprised.

Prices are par of the course on Ocean Drive, take that as you may. They also have the 20 percent automatic tip and a prompt to add more. I ordered a glass of Cab Sab to avoid a cocktail that's more mixer than alcohol and that was actually pretty good. The wine was nice and full bodied. Next up was my $26 Americano Burger with fries. The fries were nice and crispy, and I had them with more than a couple of the little packs that reminded me of elementary school instead of a squeeze bottle like I'm used to from other restaurants. I asked for bbq sauce to dip the fries, and got it after I was done with the fries so I used it instead with the burger. I asked for said burger with no pickles and medium well. While the temperature of the burger was as requested, the burger was overly salty and the American cheese seemed like the squeezable "cheese whiz" type. Also guess what offensive condiment was in the bottom bun? Yes the pickles! While I started to eat the burger keto style (without the bun) I left most of it. While the waitress said she had put the order as no pickle, maybe the kitchen messed up my request.

It was their trivia night, I believe there was a $1500 pot if you win. Everyone seemed to be playing. We arrived to late to join. The place was packed yet there were only two servers. Our server was running around like a chicken with her head cut off. However she managed to keep up with out party of 9. There were times we were waiting for assistance however we could see she wasn't just sitting on her ass. We order burgers, flat breads, tenders and steak tacos. Steak tacos were horrible Burgers were delicious Flatbread were good Tenders definitely looked like they were frozen tenders from the grocer. The beverages were nice not too strong but not weak. We were kinda profiled however as a black person you get use to it. My husband and brother stepped out for a smoke break..although everyone else was still seated at the table. We watched security run out after them. We laughed cause they looked stupid. When security ran out there they pretended to be looking at something when they noticed they guys were right outside the door. Irish pub we didn't expect any less. However it was kinds funny how the guy darted out after them then aimlessly looked around after he realized they were smoking a cigarette ‍

I realized that I had not actually been to this location since it was The Playwright (or whatever it was called) 4 or 5 years ago. The updated interior is nice - very "pubby" - and they offer a good variety of seating from bar seats to high-tops to couches. Two things here that were standouts: First, the burger is one of the best burgers I've had on South Beach. So much so that I'm craving it again this morning. They've done a good job with the menu in that it still has all those bar foods that you look for in a place like this, but they've put some thought into elevating a number of items (e.g. the short rib poutine!) Second, the service was great. Our server (sorry, can't remember his name - a nice guy from Kendall) was very friendly and provided excellent service. As many reviews mention, this is definitely a place to watch a game. While we weren't there for this purpose last night, the TV setup is great and I could def see myself camping out there with a few beers on a weekend afternoon. As someone who lives in the neighborhood, I'll be back again for sure.
