Memorial Day weekend is a sleepy time at Clemson and on Sunday many restaurants are closed. This place was doing good business, family had to sit in a bar booth to avoid a wait. Probably should have waited for a table with a view. Service was good, had a few waitresses covering the area. Several SC beers on tap. Pretzel appetizer was good, though soggier than I was expecting. Everyone enjoyed their meals from fish to burgers to chicken. Was a good meal. This is a fantastic group of venues located on Lake Keowee and directly accessible to the lake, with several courtesy docks and a fantastic view. The restraint is also midway in the lake and fairly quick to get to from either end. There are actually two restaurants here, one is called 'The Cabana' and is located closer to the docks - has a wrap around porch and is literally a cabana / sports bar with good sports bar food and a bar with several smaller TVs and on Saturday and Sundays all tuned to the games. The food here is great and the view is fantastic. You'll find wraps, tacos, and sandwiches, in the times I've been there always served fresh and hot. Above The Cabana on the hill is the Lighthouse restaurant and it is fantastic as well, more upscale and serving more upscale food the food is very good and the atmosphere is large and rustic yet upscale. The food is American and the menu seems to change from time to time but always really well executed for the venue. Highly recommend, if by water or by land. read more

Excellent setting for an afternoon sunset dinner after a long day on the lake or a date night with your partner. The blackened shrimp is excellent and the filet was cooked to the exact temperature asked for. The service is a little slow but for a party of 12 you have to understand it takes time. But Caleb our server gave us great service and full attention from describing the menu and items they have! Would highly recommend this restaurant to others. read more

Decided to stop at noon on Sunday with family visiting from out of town. While their term "Sunday Brunch" is misleading- its their full regular menu plus and minus a few items and not a buffet breakfast. That being said the food and service were excellent. We've been there several times and always have a good experience. Yes, the term " brunch" makes no sense. I also think the interior decorator is trying for the prison look (dark walls with almost no wall art), but the servers, and chefs do a great job. Its also at a beautiful spot on the lake. read more

We had a table of four in the bar tonight. Our waitress was not pleasant at all. It took her 20 minutes to bring me a cup of ice. I ordered a salad with extra tomato and bacon because it is always so sparse. I ordered it with grilled salmon. The salad came out with no salmon. It took about 45 minutes for them to finally bring out the salmon after repeated requests. The manager thought I had cancelled it when I clearly stated I wanted to eat it with the 1/4 of the salad that I had left. He said he would comp the salad. When we received the bill I was charged for not one but 2 salads at $8.00 a piece and a $16.00 piece of salmon. His compensation was $10.00 for a $34.00 dollar meal. We have eaten here since they opened and I can't believe how unprofessional the manager was. After everything I was even charged extra for the tomato and bacon. They seriously need some help and professionalism. It makes me sad as we have always enjoyed the restaurant so much. We live on Keowee and love coming over by boat. I don't know if they have changed owners but hopefully they will look into what is going on. If the restaurant had been crowded I would have somewhat understood, but they totally were not. The Lighthouse Restaurant had the potential to shine bright but ultimately led us into the cliff side. Twelve of us planned to boat here for dinner (you can "park" your boat on their dock) but drove due to weather. The restaurant's exterior is cute but the inside decor reeked of outdated back room vibes. The second floor is advertised as the more "fine dining" experience but it's exactly the same as downstairs except a below average panoramic view of the lake covered by trees. The food was okay, I got the peach bourbon chicken and it tasted great but the chicken breast was literally the smallest breast I've ever seen. It should've been "peach bourbon chick", because it was lacking the size to have the -en. Overall not a bad experience but nothing to write home about. My wife and I did experience some sickness after eating here, so be weary of that. read more

This place is really 2.5 stars but I will round up to 3 because of the pandemic and any effect it may have on food availability. Some firsts occurring at this restaurant. This is the first time I've been at a restaurant where there's gluten in the butter (which is not real butter). Also the first time there's gluten in the rice (makes no sense because rice is never sold with wheat in it- glutinous rice is just extra sticky and this is not gluten).Gluten in the shrimp and grits, pineapple chutney/glaze,and collard greens. Part of the problem may be education, but that is on the chef and management. I did have the scallops that the kitchen staff was able to make without the special sauces. I also had the broccoli and the blue cheese coleslaw. The blue cheese coleslaw is definitely a five-star food dish. Everything else was meh. My husband had the crabcakes, collard greens and the same coleslaw I had. He says the crabcakes are his fault because you just don't order them unless you're in Maryland. He said the collard greens were a little sweet and had some sort of maple flavor. They were good enough. For dessert,the flourless chocolate lava cake is definitely gluten-free because it comes out of a box. Not bad for a boxed desert but chalky as gluten-free boxed baked goods often are. Side note, they don't hand stuff their blue cheese olives, so not the best martini. Honestly, the service staff dependent on this place for income should demand higher quality from this place. This is supposed to be the best restaurant on the lake. The thing is, it's the only public "fine" restaurant on this lake. Do you self a favor, take the car and go to 1826 Bistro in Pendleton. read more

First, I asked to be seated outside. Nobody was out side, so I thought they would put us in the shade. Instead they wanted to seat us in full sun. I asked to be moved to another table and that seemed to be an issue even though all the tables were open in the shade.. they moved us to a table half in the sun so I was dying by the time we finished. Then we watched other people get seated in the shade. Totally irritating. Then.... My salad was gross.. My burger was mediocre. Meat tasted not great.. My son had the seafood bisque, it was all cream. This isn't the first time I've been disappointed with the quality of the food. My wife thinks it's thumbs down and won't go back. They used to have a taco with sirloin tip, but that's gone.. Service was good otherwise. One good thing was the fried green tomatoes were great. Otherwise I would have asked them to pay me... They need better help in the kitchen and an updated menu that they can produce with higher quality.. So I don't think I'll be back for a long time..... read more

This business has demonstrated some of the worst customer service I have seen. You might want to consider some communications classes. Threatening a customer with legal action for a bad review instead of trying to rectify and clarify a possible misunderstanding FIRST is just awful. I give two stars for the extreme lack of customer service this business has demonstrated PUBLICLY on Facebook and Yelp. This is my sincere, honest opinion. You may want to consider apologizing for your handling of this customer service situation, that would be a step in the right direction for correctly handling customer service issues. The handling of this situation makes public bystanders like myself formulate a negative opinion of your business. We arrived 7 ish on a Monday evening. We were seated immediately. Noah was our server, he did an excellent job, very attentive without being obtrusive. My husband had a fish sandwich which a full of crispy flaky fish. His side was Mac and cheese with was delicious. I eat French dips wherever we go, I must say this was one of the best I've had! Meat to bread ratio was perfect, and the bread was excellent. My side of fries were excellent as well. Great experience and we will return! read more

Most recent visit was July 13, 2022. The setting is great, servers were prompt and very courteous, and the food was delicious. The ambiance is also very good if you like a more chill and quiet place to eat. Overall experience was very good and consistent with several past visits. read more

I had been to the Lighthouse before in early March 2020 and found it to be okay then. But my dinner tonight was sorely lacking and terribly overpriced given the low quality of food. The service was decent and we were seated promptly. But the basket of bread was cold and the homemade blue cheese dressing for the salad was incredibly watery and tasteless. I had the Grouper which was served in a pool of butter. The Grouper itself was of extremely poor quality and looked gray rather than white. My mom had the flounder, which did not taste fresh at all. And my dad had the baby back ribs that were lacking in meat and seemed overcooked. He stated that it seemed like they had been cooked and then warmed up. Also, the menu was lacking in vegetable sides -- only broccoli and garden salad. Our bill came to $84 before tip, which was far too high for the poor quality of food. The menu needs a major overhaul too. There aren't many seafood choices, but maybe that's a good thing given the low quality of seafood preparation and seafood. We have crossed this restaurant off our list which is a shame given the beautiful lakeside view. read more

If there were less stars...We went for Mother's Day...it was reservations only & a buffet. It was our first time dining there so we had high hopes. Boy were we disappointed!!! That was the worst buffet that I have ever eaten at! Fried fish was salty, fried chicken was dry, pans of side dishes (mashed potatoes, macaroni & cheese, cheese grits, wild rice pilaf) all dry and overcooked! The only green vegetable was green beans that were unfortunately drowning in butter. Even the desserts were a disappointment! What a waste of money @ $28 pp. Definitely do not recommend!!! read more

Horrible service, meals forgot to be submitted to the kitchen and the worst Bloody Mary I have ever had in my life. Unless you want to drink Ravi through a stra with a lemon and lime, I would stay away from the bloody Mary's. Ordered an old fashioned in hopes to make up for the Bloody and was yet again very let down. Ordered the shrimp etoufee, which they were out of so I was recommended the shrimp pad Thai which was linguine with soy sauce on it. My husband and I always enjoy dining at here. Their ribs and salmon are favorites. Kelley is our favorite waitress- she makes every meal special. Kelley knows our usual drink order, how I like my salmon, and that my husband needs two dressings for his salad. My only complaint is that at times we are unable to get Kelley. Husband and I live nearby and go to The Lighthouse 3-5 times per month- I feel that our request for a particular server should be honored. read more

While visiting Seneca I wanted to try the Lighthouse. What a hidden gem! The fried green tomatoes were fantastic, served on pimento cheese and laced with balsamic. We both had trout, husband on a salad which was delicious but mine was lightly battered and served with grits and collard greens! Home run!!
