Marriages have been forged from nights at the Lighthouse. I didn't make it back unfortunately this summer's trip to DB. But from my memory of summer's past...it was magical indeed. The mixture of beer sludge and Journey is too special to ignore. But seriously, Lighthouse was my fav bar in DB for many years because of the fun crowd and it just seems like the sand and the actual "lighthouse" made for a great backdrop for fun. Always packed and lots of dancing is what I remember. It seemed like the familiar Bethesda crowd was just transported to DB and it was great. read more

While spending the week in Dewey, I recently spent time at the Lighthouse during the evening hours, and was lucky enough to see a sunset here. The view alone is amazing. The drinks were varied and delicious, and the menu seems REALLY good for seafood lovers - however, if you are NOT a seafood lover, I'd find somewhere else to feast. There isn't much else besides seafood. Tried the broccoli bites app and would have had the mozzarella sticks, but they were out sadly. Next door is the cove, and Rusty Rudder. While I didn't eat at the Rusty Rudder, all three of these bars seem like typical bayside bars - with little setting them apart (besides the music venue at Rusty). read more

Lighthouse was among the best place to eat in Dewey. The mussels were amazing, easily the best I have ever had! The service was good and the location was just perfect. It gets a bit crowded during the sunset but you could chill in the small beaches next to it. read more

This is our second time at the Lighthouse and we enjoyed it this time as the atmosphere (outside on the deck) was great and service were good. The adult mixed beverages were fabulous. Menu selection is good and affordable. Our 11 year old loves the clams. The kid's PB&J is an Uncrustable, but our kid likes those, so he had no complaints. The fries and sliders were great, excellent bar food. Portions were not enormous but heartily realistic. The setting sun on the bay sealed the deal for us. read more

Great Friday Happy Hour at Taco Toss, been going there every Friday for years. I get good and hammered before it gets too packed (about 7 p.m.) then I head home and continue my pre-game there with house mates. All in all a great place, reasonably priced food and drink. Only complaint is they need to bring back the HUGE 32 oz. beer mugs from years past, those 12 oz. Dixie cups are for kids. The 32 oz. monster mugs were the best. If you still have one, they will fill it for the old price- at least that's what the manager told me !! read more

What a dump. Slow service, poor quality food, unhelpful manager. Worst restaurant experience I've had in several years. My family (group of 8 with 2 young children) ordered food including 2 all-you-can-eat crab legs. After sitting at the table for over 60 minutes we only received 1 refresh each between the two orders. That is not all-you-can eat. We we complained about the service and food we were rebuffed by the manager. And then on top of cheating me on food they had the gall to charge a gratuity. Needless to say I will not return and will strongly urge people to stay far away from this dump. read more

Terrible service and food. Arrived with wife later evening for a sit down dinner by the water. No host at their station so the bartender sat us at a nice table by the water. We sat for 15 minutes and received no service. The table next to ours had also been waiting for their check. A guy came to our table, maybe security?, apologized for bad service, took our drink orders and said they were on the house(ok, fair enough). First drinks were ok ($8 cocktails in plastic cups) whatever. The food was just as bad. The security guy came back w our drinks and asks if waitress came and we said no so he took our starters order (chix tenders and house salad). It arrived and shortly after a waitress came to take our meal order. After 20minutes after placing our order we were informed they had run out of mussels(literally 20 minutes. How does she now know this sooner). Anyways, Ordered the steak and it was a mistake. I ordered medium and it came back well done and cold. In fact, all the food was cold. The sauce on the steak was just tomato sauce with pepper and tasted as such. But the worse part, when the waitress came and asked how everything was I told her the food is cold and my steak is over cooked. She just smiles and shrugged her shoulders. Gee thanks Jillian. Worst $50 meal I've ever had. When our waitress replenished our drinks they were completely different and terrible tasting so we just paid and left. There is a reason why the rusty rudder was packed and this place was dead. I took pics of the food and how we literally left 3/4s of the food on the table. AVOID THE LIGHTHOUSE! The view is great for watching the sunset on Fridays while enjoying Taco Toss. Fridays they serve tacos, nachos, and a slew of great finger food for an unbeatable price during happy hour. Some turn Taco Toss into their Friday night early dinner so they can party the night away without having to go spend a fortune on dinner and so they can save their dinero for refreshing drinks during the summer nights. Unfortunately Rehoboth Beach doesn't have any beach bars and their outdoor bars are extremely limited as well so I took the Jolly Trolly down to Dewey Beach where there isn't a boardwalk but there's a decent night life selection. The Lighthouse Bar and Grill literally is at the base of an old deco missioned lighthouse and has a large outdoor deck (with both covered and uncovered sections) right on the water (on the bay side). The bar has a full menu, the only thing I tried was their crab dip which was delicious. Every night the bar has another very good special going on, the regular prices aren't too bad though. Lastly it's worth noting the the bar is flanked by two other proper beach bars, one that has lots of chairs on the beach and one that has beach volleyball and a connecting kayak rental/parasailing business. read more

First off, we had no intentions of eating here, but there was an hour wait @ Que Pasa. We found a table on the water with no wait here. They have some great views of the bay. Tues specials incl $2 Miller/Coors lights and $6 burgers which I did. Service was great! Lindsay was pleasant and attentive. She even informed us of their specials without being prompted, something that usually doesn't happen. The clams were sandy and the crab cake sand was avg. Overall, the service and sunsets make this a more than viable dining option. read more

The beautiful chesapeake bay is stunning, day or night. + Best Orange Crush drinks in all of Dewey. I can't replicate them no matter how hard I try. They are amazingly delicious here. + Have never had to wait to get a seat here, and I've been here all summer long, every year, for the past 4 years.. + You can bring your dog! + Kids enjoy playing on the volleyball sand and bay water - the food SUCKS. I have no idea why they don't change the menu. Year after year it is always the same and year after year it totally sucks. They would make a fortune off me, alone, if they would just serve decent food. What a joke of an establishment! The manager was sitting at the bar working on his computer while the remaining staff was looking at the variety of TVs. We ordered the oyster rockefeller and the clams oreganata and both dishes came out cold. The bartender was very nice and helpful with sending the food back for us and the manager didn't even acknowledge the problem while he sat at the bar right next to us. When the food came back out we still didn't enjoy the product and decided on getting the check. We will not be going there again and it's a shame because there's such potential with Hyatt Place right next door. read more

A group of 12 girls were in Dewey Beach for a Bachelorette party and decided to come here for a late lunch around 2 pm. After ordering we waited for about an hour and our food at not come so we asked the server what what was going on and she told us it was coming out any minute. After waiting for about 15 more minutes I asked to speak to a manager to find out the situation. Around that time four girl's meals came out, most of which were cold. I spoke to the manager and asked him what was going on and he told me he just go there and didn't know. He said he would come right back after he figured it out. About 20 minutes passed by and he still did not come by and we did not have the other eight meals and finally another manager came to speak to us (not sure what happened to the other manager). She as well said she just got there and wasn't sure what was going on and she would find out. She came back and said she figured out the problem and that was neither here nor there and that our food was coming out right away. The manager did offer us a round of orange crushes on the house but we were so tired of waiting for two hours we declined. Our food finally came out and it was just so so. The manager came back with the check and said she was only able to give us a slight discount even though we waited approximately two hours for our food. The server came back after with our individual checks which were screwed up (one girl got all five orange crushes ordered in our group and she did not even get one). We asked if she could just do one large check and she said she couldn't and proceeded to be extremely rude to us. We had to once again speak to the manager and tell her we didn't need to be treated in a disrespectful/rude way. The manager proceeded to be rude to us and told us she manages five restaurants. I am not sure what that had to do with this situation. We finally paid the check and left right away. As we were walking out our server was speaking loudly so all of us could hear saying "Customers are so difficult, sometimes it's not the servers fault". The manager heard this and once again proceeded to tell us that we were somehow wrong. Our group was definitely frustrated but never once said anything rude to either the server or the manager. It was completely disrespectful and people should not be treated that way. We were extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism, food quality and handling of the situation. read more

Had a terrible experience there tonight. When we arrived it looked almost empty, so we assumed we would get served quickly. Instead we waited almost an hour for our food. We had a 5 year old who was very hungry. He ordered the grilled cheese from the menu. His order didnt come for almost an hour. great happy hour on fridays - taco toss! along with the cheap tacos and hot dogs, they have a fabulous drink called the "orange crush"! pretty deadly and after a few, we needed to get some more substantial food to get us through the rest of the night. the lighthouse has a great view of the bay, and plenty of space inside and out for a crowd. i have also been on mondays, when an acoustic duo called "kristen and richie o" (pretty sure thats the name) play cover songs. they were great! read more

First problem: sign states that Thursday's are $5 burger night, turns out that only includes a burger and bun. If you want a real burger you're looking at $7-$10. Second, the waitress never stated her name, mixed our food up and was very rude and short with us. She only bothered to check up on us and see how we were doing once during our 1.5 hour meal. I hope she knows if she keeps that up more people will complain and her job could be terminated. Besides these issues, the food was decent for the price but will not be back ever again during a future visit due to the atrocious service performed by our waitress. read more

If you like crab, you need to order the Crab Fries here. It is the best dish I ever had. I went here Fourth of July weekend and I'm dying to come back Labor Day just for the crab fries. was just at the light house on July 31,2015 our bill was $74.00 put it on our account only to find out upon returning home that the lighthouse put an additional $100.00 hold on our account until August 5th, (which we were not told about by the restaurant) the money was taken out of my account on the 2nd but a hold for $100.00 stays in effect until 8/5/15! I have been going to Dewey for years and for some reason we just never came here to eat. We just got back from Dewey yesterday, and Wednesday night ate here. It is FABULOUS!! The food was the BEST food we have ever had! We were a party of 9 and Steve - our waiter - was outstanding! He did a great job, couldn't have been nicer, and everything was perfect!! This place is pretty awful. Aside from the great view and good drinks, it looks like it's in desperate need of a cleaning. The potato skins were delivered as an app for four people with no side plates. We asked for them but they never came. We shouldn't have had to ask. I wanted to order scallops but no one could answer my question as to weather they were sea or bay. I figured if no one at a seafood place knew the answer, I should rethink my choice. My Greek salad looked incredible (all fresh beautiful ingredients) until I tasted it. There was so much oregano in the dressing I couldn't eat it. I ended up ordering a rib sampler app as my entree. These were the WORST ribs I've ever had. The parts that weren't dry as wood we'd so fat laden I was cutting it off with my knife. The waitress came back when we were almost done. I don't use ally complain at restaurants but the ribs were the straw that broke the camels back after the skins and the salad. I showed the server and as soon as she saw the fat on my plate she immediately said she'd take the ribs off the check. That was good and that saved the restaurant from having no stars. She was very busy but very nice. I won't go back for food but I'd definitely go back for the drinks and the sunset read more

Is there any way to give no stars? The service was the worst I think I have ever had. I should have known when we went to the hostess station and we felt we were intruding on their conversation. One of them told us to go find a table and she would bring the menus to us. 5 minutes later she gave us the menus and asked what we wanted to drink. She did not give us the football Sunday menu and didn't tell us about any specials - drink or food. We placed our drink order and said we wanted to wait to order food. We were there for 20 minutes, finished our drinks, and never saw our waitress. The waiter who was waiting on other tables was very attentive to his customers. We told him we wanted to pay our bill and he said he'd get our waitress. We paid him our tab since our waitress never showed up. On our way out our waitress was near the hostess stand and asked if we needed anything else. We told her No and that the service was poor and we paid the waiter. She seemed to be not phased by our comment. We live in the area and will not be back again. That makes me sad because the view from the deck is awesome. Maybe that is worth the one star. read more

If I could rate a zero I would. This had to be the worst restaurant experience I've had in years. As a local, we decided to try this on the off season as it wouldn't be crowded. We sat at a table and the waitress walked past us at least 6 times without even saying hello. My husband got up to order our drinks from the bar. We saw a man standing at the end of the bar and my husband said he was trashed. The next thing we knew he was standing over top of the trash can and PUKED into it. He staggered outside and a staff member followed him. The trash can was removed so the guests at the bar wouldn't smell it. The bouncer finally came over and offered us a menu and water. We finally got the attention of our waitress and ordered our food. When it arrived a friend had ordered the crabby fries and said the crab had the smell of iodine. She returned her meal and they said they would not charge her. I went to the rest room and it was the most pitiful bathroom I have ever seen. The doors were broken down, didn't latch, and had spackle and patch work done on them to cover damage. There was no toilet paper in the stalls, and it seemed that someone was angry enough to kick down the storage closet door. The wall soap dispenser way lying on the sink. When I returned to my table, my friend was paying the bill with a gift card she purchased a year ago. The waitress said it was not a gift card, but a club member card. My friend explained that she purchased it for $50. The manager came over and took the card, returning to us saying there was a $44 dollar balance on the card. My friend explained that she had never used the card and demanded the additional $6. This conversation went on for quite a while. He finally said the $6 would have to come out of his pocket. The entire experience was horrifying. We will not be returning there. read more
