After moving to a "larger" location 5-6 years ago, they still have the outdated gym equipment from the old location. They have a VERY small amount of new equipment. Since reopening after the Covid shutdowns, it has only gone downhill. The gym is dirtier than it was prior to Covid. The employees seem to rely on the members to clean up after themselves. It is very common that cleaning supplies are not filled while employees are sitting on their cell phones. Their efforts seem to be half-assed and management doesn't seem to put any pride into their gym. You can clearly tell that new management is only worried about turning a profit. Always trying to grow their membership numbers and cutting corners with general maintenance/up-keep (while charging you an annual maintenance fee). I have recently canceled my membership due to poorly maintained weight machine malfunctioned and injured me. I suggest spending your hard earned money at a different establishment.

You'll have trouble finding floor space to use during busy times, as with any gym. My only complaint is the hours. The only time I can consistently work out is at 5:00am, which is when they open. There have been a handful of times that I've dragged myself out of bed at 4:30 and driven the 20 minutes to this location (currently the closest) only to wait 20-30 minutes in the parking lot and then drive home without a workout because nobody was there to open the gym and let members in. This location needs to be 24 hours, change their hours, or add an additional employee at open to avoid this very bothersome issue. AMAZING and FREE class! Your first class is free so signup online…read more I loved my first class at Pure Barre. I visited on Wednesday, 8 May 2019 with fellow Yelper, Leslie N. I've taken barre classes before in the past but it has been a while since I took one so I couldn't wait to lift and tone my body. CLASS -- The instructor was awesome. I can't remember her name but I think it was Becky. She started off class with a quick 5-min warmup, a 45 min class, and then a 10-min cool down. The class consisted of small movements which are effective to strengthen the core and lengthen the body. We did pushups, held planks, used weights, and then used the bar (a wood rod thing) to do leg lifts and a type of squat exercise that ballerina's do. You don't have to be a fitness pro or super fit to attend the class. I normally prefer high-intensity classes that incorporate weights and cardio but barre was a nice change. It is a good option for cross-training. The class is meant for all levels so for example, if you don't want to pick up weights then you don't have to use it. SERVICE -- I felt welcomed at this studio and the front desk staff member was friendly. Since my friend and I were new, after class, the front desk person explained the membership options to us. It is about $69 a month for 4 classes which is not within my budget right now. One class is $25. I recommend Pure Barre Rocky River studio or any of their locations. This is an exercise class that you can manage and isn't too strenuous. There was even a pregnant woman in the class and the instructor showed her other options (modify) during the cool down (stretching) part of class. **** - 78 total reviews in 2019 - 287 total Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 12 May 2019

It has an almost "brighter" feel with this name, and I love it! Sunaya is located in Rocky River right on the border of Lakewood and Rocky River. It's pretty easily accessible off the main drag off Clifton, so you can get there without too much trouble. Its located inside a strip mall with ample free parking in a shared private lot. I hadn't attended a class here since pre-pandemic but it was still a solid experience. I attended Monique's slow flow class. Upon arrival, she had all the supportive props set up at every spot, which was so nice! I appreciated that these were set-up already, as it allowed for everyone to be spaced out appropriately during the pandemic (if you're a yogi, you know sometimes people do not respect space when a lot of people sign-up for a class). However, these classes are small by design, which automatically helps. Happy to be back at the new Sunaya Studios!

Two minutes after I walked in, they told me I was standing wrong. And seriously, how bad could I…read morebe? I'd been standing for years and had very rarely fallen over. What was wrong with my standing? Well, as it turns out, the back pains I had were caused by that standing. Which meant I wasn't sleeping as well at night. Which meant I was drinking caffeine to try to stay awake, and it all cascaded to affect my overall health. I was expecting, you know, massive weights and running 'til I puked. But they gave me tiny weights, realigning my body, grueling workouts that strengthened muscles I didn't even know I'd had because I was so unaware of my body - which I viewed as a carrying case for my head - that I didn't realize what had atrophied. And Fitness Evolution worked with me and my wife to create customized exercises that always pushed us but never broke us - which was critical when my wife broke her hand ziplining, and they had to spend weeks jerry-rigging exercises that worked around her injury. I've been doing this for a year now. And I'm not a skinny person, mainly because if you read my other Yelp reviews you'll see they're all about drinking and desserts, and honestly, I've cut that down but to be truly ripped I'd have to give all that up. But my back doesn't hurt on long airline flights. I sleep well, for eight hours. My body has strength in places I never knew it could have strength before. And now, when I look in the mirror, I see how I was standing wrong. I see all the ways Fitness Evolution adjusted me, one session at a time, to give me better flexibility and health. They helped me. It ain't cheap. But when I consider all the doctors' bills I'm gonna save from my body not degrading down the line, I'm callin' this a bargain.

Several of my athlete idols had "found" Crossfit and preached the virtues. They loved it after having done all kinds of workouts. My friend attend one of the free Saturday workout and found out that an "Executive" beginner class was starting the following week so we started together. The Executive class is a group of 5-8 people three days a week. Staci will guide you thru the work out of the day, (WOD) all the workout lingo and help you do the workout routines with good form. If you have a particular problem doing any exercise, they modify it for your ability. You "compete" against the people in your group at times, so having a good group and a good group dynamic is important. Having some friends there in the beginning with me helped. There is a lot of encouragement and camaraderie and I never felt like I was being talked down to. Just because someone younger or who had been doing it longer could do more or do it faster, it was ok.
