It was just too intimidating I guess. But this gym helped me overcome all of that. A continually spreading midsection and my making it into my 50s made me realize I had to do something. Several of my athlete idols had "found" Crossfit and preached the virtues. They loved it after having done all kinds of workouts. Miracle Performance is a smaller fitness studio that takes a more personal approach to well-being, while also offering alternative options that promote recovery and enhance performance. As a runner, I have periodically suffered from joint pain and patellar tendinosis, which severely limits my ability and causes unbearable pain. So, after searching online, I was happy to find that they offered cryotherapy sessions for only $20. Having read about the benefits of cryotherapy, especially its use among professional athletes, I figured it could 't hurt to try. I walked in and was greeted by one of the trainers, at which point I requested a cryo session. He directed me to a room with a cryotherapy chamber and several tanks of liquid nitrogen. As part of the safety protocol, he asked that I wear special thermal footwear and gloves in addition to the running shorts that I brought - no shirt! Once inside the chamber, he activated the gas and instructed me to rotate 90 degrees every 15 seconds so that the cold would be equally distributed. After three minutes, it was all over and I stepped out feeling rejuvenated and lively. Despite shivering and being uncomfortable at first, it was a dry cold and actually became tolerable after the first minute. The experience was awesome and the professionalism and knowledge of the trainer was superb! I have since been back several times and will continue to frequent this establishment in the future. So, the next time someone tells you to chill out, head over to Miracle Performance!

I cannot believe it took me this long to make the commitment. First and foremost I feel so much happier on an ongoing basis. This I was not expecting. Of course I feel stronger with more energy as well. Secondly, it seems like every time I start a committed fitness program I get injured. I am so competitive with myself, and in my youth I was so invincible. Of course as I age, and I still play tennis quite a bit, my joints do not bounce back as quickly. So when I first started with these guys my meniscus tear on my knee starting hurting a bit. They quickly changed my exercises and I was able to continue with no pain. I am now back into the grove. There are so many times I tell them I would not be there if I did not have the appointment, or I would have stopped 5 reps earlier if I was doing it on my own. I so recommend weight lifting and a personal trainer for everyone. It is the key to a positive outlook on life and a strong and healthy body!
