Fried Shrimp Dinner Collard Greens Seafood Rice

Food was good overall, shrimp cooked will, a little salty for my likely. The lamb chops were dry. Service was okay, They need more help. Our server was nice. She was working register and taking orders for sit in guest. She also delivered our food to our tables. Way too much for one persons, but she did great. Inside was okay. Tables had to be wiped before we sat down.

My first visit was a Saturday at 2pm so it wasn't crowded just some nice music and the service was quick. The cashier was very helpful with food and drinks suggestion. I ordered lemon pepper turkey wings mouth watering off the bone. With green beans and Mac and cheese. The Mac and cheese needs a little bit of more seasoning and cheese but to be honest the wings had enough seasoning not a bid deal. Will definitely be back again.

I enjoyed my food at the Licking!Everything is made fresh and is very flavorful. However, be prepared to wait long for your food. We ordered online in advance but still had to wait at least another 15 minutes. Once we finally got the food it was delicious. I highly recommend the fried turkey wings!

Conch and shrimp!

Food was amazing! Service, meh! This place always pops up whatever app I use to look for grub. So this time I figured I'd give it a try. Walking in, it's nice and clean inside. The music was LOUD. Not really expecting that but it might have impacted the service because I couldn't hear the cashier speak from under a mask and a plexiglass barricade. Along that same line, I concur with a few other Yelpers that indeed, some of the people working there looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but at work. I could harp on that for a while but, you get the point. I couldn't in good conscious give them 3 stars when the food was indeed good, place was clean, and maybe Covid is causing some challenges with their demeanor. For the food though, I picked up the conch and added shrimp. The fries could've used a bit more salt but the conch was delicious. Reminds me of this little hole-in-the-wall place in Key West. Just delicious conch! The shrimp were great too. They were healthy looking shrimp too, not those anemic shrimp at some places. I think this place will get my patronage again post-covid to see if the service changes. If you don't mind that, though, get some good eats!

Hey Guys Hey!!!! What more can I say??? In my Jay-Z voice lol I had the chicken egg rolls and they're always a hot with me and my husband had the salmon tacos and he was blown away. Obviously, we'll be back to try different items.

I was hungry and didn't feel like spending a lot of money, but I also didn't want fast food. While browsing the web I discovered that this restaurant had a $5 lunch special. Upon arrival I ordered the baked chicken lunch special with rice and peas and a side of corn. The baked chicken was cooked to perfection, it was tender, juicy and flavorful. The rice and peas were cool and the sweet corn was good. Ultimately for $5 I can't complain. The food was well worth the $5. The hostess/cashier was cool and the place was well lit and looked well kept. In closing, I'd definitely go back for that $5 lunch special.

Being so close to my home...The Bahamas and Inot being able to get some Crack Conch or Stew fish and Johnny cake... I was in agony! Behold we were driving down Miramar Parkway Fort Lauderdale Fl and got lit up with bright colors...and there it was "The licking". I looked them up real quick and saw that they served food I grew up on back in The Bahamas. Peas and rice crack conch, fried wings and other island delights. I decided to give them a try... man was it was worth it. The Conch wasn't as nicely and tender like we do it back on the island, however it packed some flavor. The garlic, lime and salt was perfectly balanced. I had fries with my meal and my daughter had the peas and rice. It was OK. She also had the grilled chicken and I ordered the seafood delight which had one piece of shrimp no other seafood delights as promised. This dish was a disappointment. They lost two stars. Otherwise if you need a taste of the island right now while in Fort Lauderdale Florida "The Licking can satisfy some of your cravings! The mystery drink...a concoction of lots of different fruity flavors was delicious. I will definitely be back to try a few different items!

Omggg... so you know the food good when you go twice in one week. The first time was 24 Feb 2021 and 2nd 27 Feb 2021. I initially I had greens, Turkey wings, shrimp and chicken. Then the second time grits & grits, red velvet waffles and fry fish plate. The greens was perfect. It's rare I find greens that taste like I cooked it myself. I have never had pigeon peas and rice until now. I am definitely a fan for life. It was amazing. I was skeptical about the shrimp and grits since it wasn't in gravy but it was delicious. They need more fry shrimp in the cup because I ate them too fast. I didn't even put the car in reverse before those shrimp was done. All the food was good. I will be going back! I didn't dine in but it was available. The music and atmosphere was nice. They also had tv's throughout the restaurant, playing different shows. I placed my order sat in car and waited. It was done in 20 minutes. The severs had mask, people not eating wore mask and people that were eating had there mask off while eating. Everything was worth it!

I have heard about this restaurant, but the location was not an area I am usually in so I never got a chance to check it out. After checking for a place to eat in UberEats, this restaurant came up and I was surprised that the location was right around the corner from my house. Next came convincing my Hubby to check it out with me since he was driving, which can be difficult since he doesn't always share my thoughts nor likes seafood (which is usually what I aim for). We got there and it was slow, no one in line. Took a little to look at the menu since I have never been here. Asked the guy if he knew how the shrimp Alfredo was, but he said he doesn't eat Alfredo unfortunately. I decided to try it anyway along with the mystery drink. We also ordered the kids the chicken tenders and my Hubby ordered the bchicken wings with buffalo sauce. Hubby saw my face and also added a side of Mac and cheese (he knows me so well) to Once it was ready to go my Hubby got the food and we headed home. He then tells me I won't like the Alfredo and I immediately know why, but I am use to places not taking the tails off their shrimp. Only my favorite place (La Nonna's) does. I just do a small prep by taking the tails off and cutting the shrimp in half. This had 6 shrimps. Overall all everything was delicious and everyone was satisfied. My meal was large so I had leftovers, which is love. The Mac and Cheese was the best, but my husband said it was expensive for the small size. I'm just glad to have tried it but not sure I will return anytime soon. I hope to visit again with friends at some point.

Fried turkey wings dinner with 2 sides. The turkey wings were not freshly fried. Could barely chew

Waitress was pleasant but food was unacceptable. Turkey wings appeared to be re-fried which made them difficult to chew. I did not enjoy the meal at all.

As the place was empty and two women working were talking at the bar I walked in and went to sit. One of the women asked if I was with the group and then told me I needed to wait to be seated. It was awkward. It was a bit rude. Most times it's not what you say, but how you say it. Maybe it's just me, but the waitress immediately informed me that three items weren't available, including biscuits and cornbread of some sort. As a first-timer, it was weird. Fortunately, everything got better from there. My first meal, regardless of time, needs to be breakfast-y. As I perused the weekday brunch menu via QR code (what if you don't have a phone?) I ordered a coffee and water. The water came quickly, but the coffee took its time. I ordered the Wafflette (don't you want to try things you can't get other places?) It came as pictured and was good. The syrup was quite watery and left a lot to be desired, but I really didn't need it. The star of this dish is the bacon. I could have bathed in this bacon. It was thick and chewy, such a nice compliment. I don't know if there are bar stools available and whether they set up center aisle seating when it's more crowded, but the restaurant appeared clean and well-kept. There were no rounds available when I went, so I don't know how they accommodate groups of 10+, I sat along the banquette that could accommodate two. I am very interested in returning to try the ox tails, which are available in two (or was it three) dishes on the menu. I look forward to revising my review then.

The Spread: We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, spare ribs, and baby back ribs -- yes, all four -- on one tray lined with butcher paper. It looked like a BBQ fever dream and tasted even better than it looked. The Meats: The brisket was the standout for me. Smoked over real wood for 12+ hours, hand-carved, pink smoke ring, tender all the way through. The baby back ribs were glazed and meaty with deep smoky flavor, and the spare ribs were thick, juicy, and packed with bold bark. The smoked chicken rounded it all out -- moist, flavorful, never dry. The Sides: Rice and peas with coconut milk -- fragrant and perfectly cooked. The 4-cheese mac was outrageously creamy (I kept going back for more). The sweet and tangy coleslaw was the perfect palate cleanser between bites of rich, smoky meat. The Extras: The 4-pack of sliders was a great add -- soft buns, well-seasoned patties, could easily make a meal on their own. The fries were golden and crispy. And the watermelon lemonade Kool-Aid with berries at the bottom? Refreshing, unique, and the perfect closer to an incredible meal. The Space: Big news for fans of Bare Bones -- they've just opened a brand new storefront next door with about a dozen additional tables and plenty of seating for the whole family. No more eating in your car or rushing home with takeout. You can now sit back, relax, and enjoy that tray of smoked goodness the way it was meant to be experienced. It's a welcome upgrade that somehow makes the food taste even better. This is a family-run operation with over 20 years of food experience and it shows in every detail. Bare Bones isn't just good BBQ -- it's a South Florida treasure.

As odd as it is to go during the day and have brunch, I would say it is the move. You pull into a plaza where everything else is closed except for this business and say hi to the security guard stationed at the entrance of the place---at 11 AM---to walk into a lounge beautifully decorated with green walls, floral accents and a disco ball. It is clear that the majority of patrons come much later in the day, like after 9 PM, to get bottle service listening to a DJ or any other performer. This would explain why the air conditioning was cranked so high, to accommodate the bodies and electricity that would pack the place much later. Our server didn't crack a smile but immediately brought us water after we asked and rounded back twice to take our order. Like I said, going during the day when there are only about 5 other parties dining seems to be the move for prompt service and food preparation. The dishes came out super hot and fresh. The Creole Seafood Omelette ($26) was chock full of well seasoned shrimp and lobster and cheese, with a creamy roux on the side that was good to occasionally dip a bite into but wasn't necessary all the time. The potatoes that came on the side were just the right amount of crispy while leaving some heartiness to them. The Fried Chicken and Waffles ($26) included flavorful fried chicken with breading that didn't quit when you tore it or cut into it. The cool part of this dish is the choice you have of the waffle it comes with. The Cookies and Cream Waffles should be your go-to. They were topped with the chocolate cookie sandwich crumbles and a great homemade vanilla icing. For a Lauderhill establishment in an area where you really don't know of anything else happening, this place is worth a venture out for your brunch. I'd go back to try the other items and drinks!

It was also a task order as they were out of a lot of items on the menu so the menu was very limited. I ended up ordering a wing meal, which was about $19 with two sides. I also ordered the kids meal. The chicken wing meal was five wings, portion of rice, candied yams, and macaroni and cheese . I will say that portion sizes were a bit small for the price. The yams were perfectly seasoned not too sweet not too tart. The macaroni and cheese was also very delicious. It had the right amount of cheese and the right amount of crisps on top. I wish there was a little bit more to taste, and the wings were perfectly fried and seasoned well. I will say the chicken tenders for the kids meal were very tiny. They were more like strips instead of actual full-size tenders and they were packaged with the fries which made them extremely sweaty and wet, and the fries were also very soggy. I would recommend packaging the items separately and not stuffed in a box to sweat together. The drink for the kids meal was very tasty a little on the sweet side. It was their mystery tropical drink. Customer service was extremely friendly. I had to ask for condiments and napkins but overall they seem like young kids that did their best.
