Miss Reena has a 25 year experience in taking care of children from infancy through the pre-school years, and it shows. From our very first interaction we felt safe in the knowledge that our daughter will be in good hands in a healthy, safe, and structured environment conducive to learning and development, not just a "parking lot" for babies during the workday. We were given an after-hours, thorough tour of the facilities prior to enrolling, and we were impressed by the meticulous care with which everything is done, from the Montessori/Phonics methods of learning for all children, to the great variety of play/learning stations, the various activities offered, and the seemingly odd conviction (from a business perspective) to choose a smaller number of children receiving exceptional care and education over a larger number of children without this personalized attention. We have seen enormous changes in our daughter's development in less than two months, with much greater independence in play, improved confidence in exploring the world around her under supervision, as well as practical improvements such as sleep and eating, and we can directly attribute every single improvement to the tireless work of Miss Reena. Although there are no "fancy" offerings such as video surveillance and smartphone apps, parents of both infants and toddlers have open lines of communication in realtime via WhatsApp channels, and a daily personalized report during drop-off and pick-up to address any issues/concerns and offer invaluable advice on everything childcare-related. We have seen from other parents that they completely trust LHP with their children for all their formative toddlerhood and preschool years, and although our daughter is not old enough for the complete learning experience yet, we can definitely understand the strong bond parents and babies feel to LHP. The kids play all day, but they're also learning real concepts like colors, numbers, and letters woven into everything they do. They sing, they dance, and they even have Mandarin lessons. There's so much thought put into how the day is organized. The director deserves special recognition. She runs a safe, well-managed facility and stays personally involved with the kids. The infant room was very well staffed and had a calm, nurturing environment. Unfortunately, our experience in the toddler room was very different. The front entrance door that uses a key code did not always close and lock properly, and the toddler gate leading to the right hallway did not lock securely, which raised safety concerns. A lot of times at pick up that hallway also smelled like a trash bag of poop was stored somewhere. Many toys were kept on high shelves and out of reach, leading children to climb on the shelf in order to access them. During transitions and diaper changes, children were often left without activities, resulting in restlessness and pacing. Cleanup also fell almost entirely on the teachers, as children were not taught or encouraged to help put toys away, which appeared to limit the teachers' ability to support children who were struggling emotionally. Communication was also difficult. At pickup, teachers were understandably busy managing multiple children, but there was little insight into how my daughter's day had gone. Messages sent through the app often had delayed responses. There was also a required supply list that included items such as a water paint kit, colored pencils, a paint apron, and crayons, but these supplies were never used in the classroom. My 2.5-year-old thrives in a structured environment. In this classroom, much of the day was unstructured free play, and she struggled significantly. During her final full week, she spent most of each day sitting and crying. She appeared overwhelmed, isolated, and unable to engage. On three consecutive days, photos shared as "gym activities" showed children sitting against a wall watching the teacher, whereas earlier in her enrollment gym time involved active movement and play. That earlier structure had been far more appropriate for her needs. While the staff were kind, the lack of structure and engagement negatively affected my child's well-being and ultimately led us to seek a different environment. Although another classroom was offered, seeing her cry consistently on the camera and struggle at drop-off made it difficult to continue.

The only reason I said that is because my son reacted positively towards Jamila, the director of the school. The school left an impression on me as far as the teacher-student ratio, the simplicity in the school, and the attitude Jamila had about her program. After talking with my husband about it, we were convinced that this is the school for our son. We had some sort of issues with the pediatrician (who is no longer our pediatrician because of this) that our son had a speech delayed and was encouraged to go see a speech therapist to help develop his speech. Of course, being a first time mom I went ahead and started up the program. But after hearing what others had to say and the firm conviction of Jamila that my son did not need it as he will be in the school (and of course that he was still a bit too small) that he will develop the speech skills he need. And indeed he did! He says so many words now at the age of 2. He speaks English and Spanish as well as signs and this is because of his environment at school and being around children his age gave him the learning experience to start his speaking skills. In only 7 months did my son start speaking well and picking up things so fast. When he's home, he picks up his toys and puts them back where they belong without me having to ask. He listens very well and at the dinner table, he waits patiently for me to bring him a plate of food. There's so many things I can list it'd be endless! My husband and I are truly satisfied and truly happy to have decided to put our son in this program and wouldn't have had it any other way!

Our daughter improved so much within a short period of time and it was measurable. We have been super impressed with the teachers and the higher level of academics. Kids at Challenger School are a year or more ahead of their peers who attend highly rated public schools. While the curriculum is excellent, what we love the most about Challenger School is how much our daughter's personality has blossomed. She has become more self-confident and independent. She was super shy and had major separation anxiety issues. Now she engages everyone in conversation, and she happily participates in school performances, speaking and singing in front of a crowd of her peers, teachers and other parents. We are super proud of her progress and achievements! Challenger School is costly, but worth every single penny! However, it may not be for everyone. It is a very structured environment. You won't find any hand-holding or coddling, as they strongly encourage independence and independent thinking. They teach every student about personal responsibility. It is the student's responsibility to make sure their homework is done on a daily basis and brought to the school, and they actually want the students to do their homework on their own. I felt that the communication between the teachers and parents was lacking and come to find out the teachers do not speak english. When we toured the school, we were told the teachers would only speak spanish, as it is a spanish immersion program. However, with preschoolers, it is essential they at least are able to understand what the children are saying and be able to attend to their needs (even if it's in spanish). We noticed our daughter was coming home upset and nothing was being said when I would pick her up from school, so I assumed it was nothing serious. Well, one day at pick up she was clearly being bullied by 2 kids, and although the teacher witnessed this behavior, she did nothing to intervene or use this as an educational opportunity to show inclusivity and kindness. We had a meeting with the teacher and director and we came to the conclusion that the language barrier was the cause. The owner was not understanding and blamed us for not bringing it up sooner. How could we, if the teachers are not communicating? With there being so many other great school/daycare options, I would not recommend this one. The value is not there, the curriculum is lacking for the preschool age group, and the way they handle business is unprofessional.

Infant teachers like Ms Dominique, who always welcomes him with open arms and a bright smile in the midst of tears during drop off. Or Ms Kalishia, who genuinely laughs along with all of his silly moments and playful activities. Plus never forgets his comfort buddy "elefante". And Ms Kacee, who's always happy to see him and keeps him smiling until I'm ready to pick him up. Thank you so much for being patient & kind not only with our son but with us too!
