From the day we started I have never felt more confident in our child's safety, education, and well-being. From the moment you walk into the door every staff member greets us and knows my daughter's name and what to say if she is having a rough morning. Ms. Mayte and Ms. Alexis are always at the front desk with a smile and are always able to answer any questions or concerns. The director, Ms. Ariel is one of the first people to reach out if my daughter needs anything throughout the day as well as to help my daughter with anything she needs. She is also very open with communication which i find to be a huge comfort. Her teachers have been incredible from the infant class with Ms. Gigi, loving her as well as supporting and helping me through the early stages and milestones of her first months. Her favorite teacher; Ms. Chantel who has become her support person (as well as mine) has been there for her from learning to roll, taking her first steps, learning to speak, and so much more. She goes above and beyond to make sure she is feeling loved and safe throughout her day. As an educator myself, I am impressed with the curriculum and all of her teachers as she has progressed through the program. They have not only supported her, but have guided her through her milestones as well as educated her. Ms. Frida, Ms. Jacky, Ms. Maylee, Ms. Anna, Ms. Z, Ms. Zeba, Ms. Aimee, Ms. Isabella, Ms. Noelle, and countless others are incredible educators. My daughter happens to be approaching the pre-K age. I WAS (keyword is WAS!) considering Montclair community pre-K as one of our options. I approached the booth and began looking at some of the literature. One of the staff members approached me and immediately said "do you live in Montclair?". I said no. She proceeded to tell me that my child was not eligible for financial aid because we did not live in Montclair. (FYI, I did not ask about financial aid. We DO NOT even need financial aid. I did not get the chance to ask any questions. Her first thought was that we must need financial aid because we don't live in Montclair). I thought to myself OK, not the best way to sell your institution, but whatever. I proceeded to ask some questions regarding the institution (i.e. classroom size, teacher to student ratio, curriculum, etc.) She then AGAIN continued to tell me how my child would not be eligible for financial aid because I did not live in Montclair. I tossed the brochure on the table and walked away. Your institution just lost a potential new student. If this woman spoke to anyone else, whom does not live in Montclair, i'm sure they were turned off by her abrasive and dismissive attitude. You may not want her to continue to be the face of your institution.

This is my son's second year at the Pre-K and I truly love this school. His teacher this year is a…read moremaster teacher that is able to embed academic learning within themed-based units. The students most recently opened a cafe in their classroom where they used math, reading and writing to create and run the cafe. Most importantly, he has consistently learned about empathy and compassion for others, in particular, his classmates. Character development is explicitly taught and experienced in weekly activities. Truly all the staff is incredibly kind and wonderful. I find it shocking that there is another review that felt differently. The directors of the school, not only know my son's name that goes to the school, but also the names of my two smaller children. When you come to the pre-k, it feels like family.

They make you fill out so many forms about your babies schedule and instructions to just do whatever they want, feed them when they want as well as changing their diapers. They would put products on my baby's skin without my authorization. If you call during the day to see how your child is doing, they would get annoyed and give you attitude. All they want is money, don't let them trick you with the security systems and nice daycare, they do not care about the kids. All of the staff look unhappy and not wanting to do their jobs. I DO NOT recommend this daycare to NO one. Don't trust them specially with vulnerable infants. My experience was awful, I gave them time to put their shit together and spoke to everyone, even the director, to avoid writing this review and having to switch daycare. I think I trusted this facility way too much and had very high expectations, this is why now I'm so disappointed. My baby's first day when I picked up my 3mon old baby her pants were all wet of pee, my daughter was left alone in a corner awake in a swing far away from the other kids and unattended by the teachers, when I grabbed her she was freezing, the air conditioner was too low so when I carried her she was shaking, she was only given 2 bottles of milk during the full 8 hours that she was there (my baby eats a lot) I told them her eat schedule and wrote everything down on a form they provided, she usually eats every 2 hours and even before. When I saw her pants wet and felt how cold she was I asked the teacher (Jayda/Jayra whatever her name is) her answer was "well I just changed her diaper!" (with a nasty attitude) I replied by showing her my baby's pants so she can notice the wetness on it (she never made eye contact) she proceed with grabbing a tablet and slamming it in front of me to show the times she was supposedly changed but that doesn't really means she was changed on time cuz she can document what ever she wants on there and not necessarily be done. I was so irritated that I did not react any other way then just grab my baby and leave the center with my eyes full of tears. After I got home I called and spoke to the manager (Ashley I believe is her name) the director (Kimberly) was also aware, supposedly everything was gonna change but I was already concerned about my daughters safety and treatment. The next day that teacher (Jayda/Jayra) wasn't in my baby's classroom but the teachers there were still not following my baby's schedule, they were not giving the baby her bottles on time, they would always put the excuse that baby was sleeping. I also took my baby some sleepers so she can stay warm in her classroom since it was so cold in there but they would take it off and lose her socks.The third day when I went to drop her off, I went in the classroom and I waited almost 10 min for the teacher to go inside the classroom to take my baby so I can rush to work but she was too busy gossiping with another teacher in another classroom. Every time I use to go drop her off or picked her up, there was a different teacher which didn't know anything about the instructions I had gave to the previous teacher, their communication skills were horrible. This is not a place to trust, it's full of unprofessional and poorly trained staff that are only there for a paycheck and not necessarily because they like kids.

I am so pleased with the center. My son has been going here since August 2017 and my daughter just…read morestarted in July 2020 when they reopened after COVID. I have been here through the days of Sue and Blythe and now with Alaya. I have seen multiple people in the management team after Sue left the center and was here through the rocky times. The thing that kept me here during those rocky times were the amazing teachers. There was never a day where I thought that my child was in danger or not being taken care of by his teachers. Alaya was given a mess a little over a year ago and has really brought together a great team of management who brought the center around. They have all been very open to listening to the parents on what was not working well under the old management and working with us to find ways to fix it. My son is currently in the preschool class with Ms. Dede and Ms. Christina and he loves it. He gets sad on the weekends when he realizes that he will not be seeing his teachers and friends. When he was home during quarantine we connected with his teachers and messaged them throughout because he missed them. These teachers really became a part of his life and treat him so well. Because of COVID, things are harder now since I don't get to speak face to face with his teachers as often as I used to but they do their best to write tons of information into his tadpole reports and send home plenty of pictures and videos through the tadpole app. They also come to the front door to speak to me at pick up if he is the last in the class, or will pop their head out of the outside door of the classroom to speak with me if I have a question for them. They have taught him so much in preschool this year in just over a month and I look forward to seeing him grow and learn more as the year progresses. When he moved up from his discovery preschool class we were so disappointed to leave behind his last teacher Ms. Judy but Ms. Dede and Ms. Christina have been just as good. Infant has been a little harder to transition back to as the teachers in the infant classes are different than when my son went through there so I don't have a previous relationship with them. I rely a lot on the updates I get from Christina (management) when I pick up as she is assigned to help out in the infant class (the management gets assigned to different classes to try to limit the exposure between classes). I receive constant communication from her teachers giving me information on when she slept and how much she has eaten. She just started walking so I am now getting regular phone calls about the normal bumps all 11 month olds go through when they are learning to walk and fall down. The calls from Ms. Julie are always so pleasant and she makes me feel reassured that she is okay and keeping me informed so I am not worried if I see a little bump. I get pictures of her playing with different things in the class. And just the other day I received the cutest video of them showing her laminated leaves and teacher her the colors. They really do a good job of finding ways to instill learning even in the very young classes. It was really scary to send the kids back to daycare due to COVID, but there is no one that I would trust more than the team at this center to do everything in their power to keep all of these kids safe. I have never once even caught a glimpse of an adult (in the building or even outside walking to their car) not wearing their mask properly. Unfortunately, not being able to go into the classrooms, I cannot say what they look like but I know before COVID they were constantly cleaning and they would have a bin for toys that needed to be sanitized which they would add to during the day and not bring back out until they had been cleaned. We send in a clean blanket and mask every day to reduce germs and no outside toys are allowed in (even for their normal Friday show and tell) as they are reducing the germs everywhere they can. There are strict rules around returning to the center after being sick and take the kids temperature and ask the health questions every morning during drop off. My daughter just started daycare for the first time so I have no doubt that she will get sick several times this winter even with all of the precautions that they are taking (as she already has actually) but it has been so much less in the first 3 months in daycare than it was with my first child, which goes to show just how much they are cleaning (because lets be honest, babies have no immune system and put everything in their mouth so they are going to get sick).

A lot of families seem to stay mainly because they've been there for years and have relationships with the director and owner. Unfortunately, today I felt the need to review this business due to the trauma my son has been facing. My son attended this center for less than 8 months. In which two major head injuries occurred (see photo). One hematoma on the forehead which has left him with permanent muscle tear and is visible when he cries or laughs real big. Second injury was staples on his head because they allowed another child to hit my son with a very heavy plastic toy that gashed my son's head pretty deep. This is not ALL staff but certainly some young ones who clearly are not meant to be in The field to care for children. Sadly also management not being more proactive to make sure teachers are more aware of the children's surroundings. These are only 2 incidents that I felt justifiable enough never to return. There were other incidents of my child constantly being bitten. My reason for writing this is because the staples incident occurred 4/4/2025 and today my son had a complete meltdown scared to return to a new daycare... still naming the child from kindercare who hurt him. I'm not blaming the child I'm blaming management for having people who don't care and for not being more involved in the classroom. When my husband returned the following Monday to retrieve our sons belongings the staff didn't even bat an eye and that's very sad to hear. The reviews you see here are from management office pushing to get reviews from both parents and staff. They aren't real reviews. I only know this because I was one of the parents who received those request in November/December. Due to the biting incidents it took me awhile to review. But after the hematoma I removed it. All bad reviews seem to have been deleted. I hope they do better... for the children's safety and for the parents who have to work and shouldn't have to worry about their children's safety.
