Steak Salad Delicious!!
Rodolfo B.

Very classy restaurant, friendly staff, great location and delicious menu w great lineup of craft beers! I had the steak salad, which was phenomenal. The fries were phenomenal!! Not sure I understand the "salsa verde" that comes with the salad! I think it was a vinaigrette!! Great spot for dinner!!

I came here for a ladies lunch, meeting some friends at the halfway point. The restaurant is super cute, lots of green/plant decor, and kind of a reclaimed industrial vibe. The server was sweet, and we got our food pretty quickly. We ordered a blueberry scone to share, and the flavor was great, but it wasn't quite cooked through with a doughy bit in the middle. I had the fish and chips, and it was delicious. I think it was a home made tartar sauce, and the fish was flakey, with a nice breading. I loved the fries, they were kind of a thin cut steak fry, with lots of little crunchy bits. There were other intriguing things on the menu, so I think we'll put this in the rotation as a meet up spot! Close to public parking and other downtown shops, and maybe 5 minutes from the Arboretum if you want to make a day of it.

If you are looking for the perfect brunch spot check out the Leaf in downtown Wooster! This stunning spot is serving up breakfast, lunch, & dinner but is especially know for their incredible brunch! My new favorite place & I will absolutely be back! Shoutout to bartender Alyssa for the delicious drinks, friendly service, and excellent recommendations! The bar area decked out for Christmas

I walked in and was punched in the face by a cozy welcoming atmosphere. It's almost Thanksgiving and Christmas decor is everywhere - it's country, it's industrial, it's warm and inviting. Cloth napkins, lots coffee refills, fascinating brunch menu. I had been hunting for a pulled pork Benedict and found it here - on top of a cheddar jalapeño cornmeal waffle.

Easy to get reservations online for a busy graduation weekend right when they opened. Service was attentive. Coffee was good as was the food. I was a bit disappointed when I asked for no green onion or garlic and they were both on my plate. The garlic was overpowering on the tomatoes and eggs.

We were able to make a reservation on Open Table about 45 min ahead of time and were seated right away when we got there. I ordered the espresso martini. Delicious, however it had a dollop of whip cream on top (appearances?) if trying to give the allure of creamy, I'd rather have a splash of heavy cream. We ordered the pickle fries as an appetizer, which came with type of hot sauce. I like heat but it came right away and lingered. I'd prefer something like a signature chipotle aioli. We got the delicious taco salads. Loved the shell and all the fresh ingredients. We would have liked there to be a little Spanish rice and, guac and black beans included.

Omelette, biscuits, and iced tea

All of the staff was incredibly friendly, and the flower decorations were beautiful. I was so happy to find a veggie-forward breakfast option in the "We Be Yammin'" bowl and my husband enjoyed his omelette and biscuits. The iced tea was really good, too. Strong and cold!

Catfish sandwich and sweet potato fries

It's a nice restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and checked back a few times letting us know it wouldn't be much longer for our food. I don't mind waiting a little while but almost an hour for a sandwich and a pasta dinner is unacceptable. The food was good but the wait time needs to improve.

16 September 2023 -- Saturday brunch, starting around 12:30pm

Brunch Rating - 3.5/5 I visited for the first time in mid-September 2023 on my day trip to Wooster, Ohio to visit a friend. We both arrived to the restaurant around after 12:00 noon. The restaurant was starting to get busy upon arrival but we luckily were seated right away. FOOD -- I ordered the Loaded Potato Omelette ($13) with side of potatoes -- inside the omelette is bacon, potatoes, green onions. I got mine WITHOUT cheese and sour cream. The omelette was good and tasted like any traditional omelette. The majority of the side potatoes were burnt but the whole meal was still edible. The omelette would have tasted better with tomatoes. I also ordered the Belgian Waffle ($8) which comes with fruit on top but I got the fruit on the side so that I could add syrup on the waffle. PARKING -- Street parking but I think my friend and I found a parking lot behind the restaurant. Overall, the Leaf appears to be a popular restaurant with the locals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. While I don't live close to Wooster, I can definitely see myself visiting again if I'm ever in the area. **** - 86/150 total reviews in 2023 - 637 total overall Yelp reviews - Reviewed on 1 December 2023

My favorite is their Crispy Brussel Sprouts. Yum! But their soups & taco salad is great too.

Make sure to get a reservation. The place is busy. The food is worth the extra effort though.

Pine Tree Barn Restaurant - Pastrami sandwich and French Onion soup

It's a big restaurant off of a country road with plenty of parking. As of two weeks ago they were doing work on the highway that was kind of unpleasant with grated roads and lane closures but it looks like it will be done soon maybe.... Anyway, it's a large space with a gift shop and shabby chic decor that all appeared to be for sale since everything has a price tag on it even in the restaurant. The service was pleasant enough. The menu has fairly straightforward cafe like offerings of sandwiches and salads. I wanted something light so I opted for the cesar salad in spite of my reservations when it said tomatoes and olives were on it. Weird but whatever chicken, lettuce, croutons and cesar dressing still felt on brand so I went for it. This is not a cesar salad. It was a salad with balsamic dressing of some kind, toasted bread with the crust cut off and a cold chicken breast. And, it comes with bread but I was told they didn't have rye so I ended up with sourdough that was also not sourdough and the waitperson didn't bring it until I was mostly through eating my refrigerator cold chicken. Just, yikes. Additionally, I still don't know how there was rye for my sister's sandwich but I wasn't allowed to order it with my food. As for her lunch, the pastrami was fine but with a lackluster amount of meat. The French onion soup was the only thing that felt reasonable with quality and price. All in all, I think the snack bars or even grocery stores in the area/ Amish country appeared to have better offerings. I wouldn't recommend this place for lunch. The gift shop was cute and reasonably priced so maybe check it out for that but that's it.
