This place has some of the best breakfast food in Orrville. If I'm in the area again I'll stop by. Homefries were awesome as was the coffee.

VERY SMALL BUFFET AND NONE OF THE FOOD WAS MEMORABLE. 3 tables had customers seated @ noon on a Wednesday. Gave us one tiny container of apple butter & one tiny container of peanut butter spread for four large pieces of bread. THE GOOD PART: noodle soup was full of noodles, fresh warm, homemade bread was brought to the table. They had pieces of several kinds of fruit pie & three kinds of cookies to choose from for dessert.

However, the side of mush was awful. Despite being advertised as freshly made, it arrived deep-fried and completely tasteless. * Atmosphere: The restaurant itself looks a little run down, featuring minimal patrons and, strangely, a half-price gift shop. Overall, the wait was excessive, and the highly-touted mush was a major disappointment.

However it was a very busy Saturday morning so I opted to do a takeout order. The menu has everything and anything imaginable. I chose a favorite which was breakfast burrito that had chorizo in it. It was so flavorful I didnt even need the pico or sour cream. It was served with potatoes that had great flavor as well. It was all amazing even in a takeout box. If I ever find myself in area or my husband is up for road trip id come back to try more.

They were out of the chicken patties, so they offered to substitute chicken tenders instead, which I really appreciated. It was still really good! I think it could have used a little something to make it less dry, but I'm guessing the regular chicken patty probably would've helped with that. Their cold brew iced coffee was delicious, and my friend ordered the spicy sausage gravy. I had a bite, and the flavor was fantastic! The highlight of our visit was our waitress. She was so fun, friendly, and attentive, and she made the whole experience even better. I've also had the chicken and waffles here before, and it's still one of my favorite things on the menu.

It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

Found myself in Wooster around noon, and needed some lunch. Saw this spot on Yelp and decided to…read moregive it a try! Menu is soups, salads and sandwiches. From the looks of the space, they're a bar by night and lunch spot by day. Really cool old space with original hardwood floors, high cathedral ceilings and rustic charm. Ambiance was on point. Their menu is fairly unique. A number of custom house options that take traditional sandwiches and add stuff you wouldn't necessarily expect. I ended up getting one of their seasonal specials that is a play on a grilled cheese sandwich. It came on toasted, marbled, rye, with feta cheese, fresh, sliced jalapeños, fresh, sliced pineapple, and Swiss cheese. I always love, trying things that combine, savory, sweet, and spicy. So I was hoping for the best with this one, and it delivered. The sandwich came with hot waffle, fries, and a side of ketchup. Shout out to the two people working, as they were completely overwhelmed, but getting food out to tables regardless. I was expecting a pretty long wait time based on the orders ahead of me, but my food came out in under 10 minutes. I was impressed all things considered. My only small complaint is the pricing is just a little bit high for what you get. Especially a grilled cheese. It's just bread, pineapple, jalapeño, and cheese. I don't feel like that should cost $13. I wish the waffle fries came with it for that price. But they were an additional three dollars, as well as three dollars for a fountain drink. After taxes and tip, it was a little over $23. That's a pretty steep price to pay for what was supposed to be a simple lunch. I would definitely come here again, but not on the regular simply based on the high prices.
