I've been going to this laundromat for 10+ years. I arrived this morning at 6am. There was a lovely, local lady, who also has been going to this laundromat for years. She had 1 x-large washer going. She said she had been there for an hour already and the machine was stuck on 5 minutes and just spinning. My 6 washers full of laundry finished washing and her 1 washer was still on 5 minutes. She called the awesome US VET who is on call from 5am-10pm to ask for assistance. He promptly arrived. But Of Course by this time, the washer had finally stopped but the clothes were still dripping, soaking wet. He called the owner to discuss and told her to put her clothes in the next washer to repeat the cycle and get them to spin dry. Minutes later the owner called back and told the US VET that he could NOT use the laundromat money to rewash her clothes because she had overloaded the machine. She stated that she uses the same washer Every week and today's load was half the usual size. Also, it was half the size of My load that I put in the other x-large washer. The on-call, awesome, US VET paid for this loyal customer to rewash her clothes out of his own pocket!! So, to the new owner's, I say; Shame On You!! Horrible customer service!! And Greedy! I know prices are going up everywhere, but the amount that they have increased the washers is Outrageous and Disgusting! This loyal customer paid $8.75 to wash One load of clothes. And what should have taken 25 minutes, took over an hour, were still soaking wet and had to be rewashed, taking another 30 minutes. I have always preferred this laundromat and I will go back. But the owner's are Not Right about how they treat their customers and their awesome US VET!! Do Better new owners!! There is another laundromat in town and you Will lose business, including mine, if this atrocious behavior continues. read more

We have been coming to the laundry basket for sometime; sadly tonight was the beginning of the end. I used machine number two and I loaded my items, quarters next and press start. The washer was barely dribbling any water. Literally dribbling.... We added 4 gallons and a case of water so there would be water in the washing machine to wash our towels. We called the phone number on the wall and a very kind gentleman came, spoke to us; .he was understanding and called the owner. The gentleman who came to help us said he was a Vietnam vet that he's been shot for this country, but he only works here part time and he was kind of grandfathered in if he will - because he works for the previous owners. He talked to the owner for about 20 minutes and at the end of the conversation he came over to me and said that he was sorry but the owner said he will do "Nothing" for us. It's not enough that we've come to this location and spend on average $30-$35 when we do our laundry here. Tonight we spent about $20 on water to wash our towels. We have two large washing machines and a smaller $22 in washers alone., not to mention the 7 dryers to complete our laundry. We are very unhappy for the way this owner treated us and we won't be back. It's my understanding he also owns Clayton Wash and Dry. We won't use either location. Tonight was a turning point. It's pretty sad when you spend six dollars to wash your clothes and have to add your own 20 bucks to put water in the machine and then to basically be called a liar and told him he's not gonna do anything for us. I have been using this laundromat for a few years now. Pricy for a laundromat that doesn't have a sink or a bathroom. Today when I walked in at the time of opening, the washers were all full with clothes? When I emptied a couple of them so I could wash my clothes I noticed there was blood splattered on the front of several of the washers, obviously they are not cleaned or sanitized, they were all pretty dirty, there was also blood splattered in the doorway. Very disappointed as I sent the owner a heads up, but he didn't respond about the blood. I'll be looking for another laundromat. read more

Do NOT recommend. You walk in, the floors are filthy. Dryer sheets all over the floor. It smells like mildew as soon as you walk in. Assuming from laundry sitting to long, even lingering in empty washers . Lots of machines take coins and you cant reject them to get it back to re add to the coin slot. The selection for laundry mats is limited in Martinez, however I would rather drive to a neighboring city to wash than come back to this one ever again. read more

Clean, safe, affordable. Owners who care, cleaning staff who work hard, and machines that do what they need to do. Not to mention, this is a good location and a lovely, clean little shop. They use tokens only as of last month, and they have detergent machines on-site. There are different sized washers and dryers for your needs, and you can wash a quilt or comforter comfortably in these machines. I lost an expensive item here and the staff was active and attentive in helping me find it. If you're unsure, use The Laundry Basket. It's one of the better laundromats I've used across the country. read more

This place is filthy. Rat feces in the windowsill and floor. The machines are so dirty... covered in soap scum and debris. Several machines didn't work at all and one ate my money, jyst spun astound for 26 minutes but no water came out! Trash cans are overflowing and its obvious the floors haven't been swept, let alone mopped, in ages! There's no sink for hand washing clothes, no bathroom or any attendants on staff. I'm not blaming the owner for our clothes getting stolen. That was our fault because we left our clothes unattended for a little while. But the owner was very rude and careless about it when I merely asked him to look at the security footage to see if we can find out who took our clothes. A police officer for the city was willing to go around looking for the person if we could just get a picture or video of who did it. But the owner of this laundry mat said he'll TRY to get to it if he can. He said "It's Martinez, what do you expect." There's camera all over the area...i called him multiple times and respectfully asked to see the security camera footage, and he said he'd try, but nothing. My husband's EMT uniforms were in there and our baby's clothes. I wish I could give zero stars for the horrible service from the owner. We're never going here again. read more

The Laundry Basket is under new ownership and is completely remodeled. There are new change machines, folding tables and huge Speed Queen Washers for my largest blankets and comforters. There are also high powered fans that you can turn on and off with out calling somebody. This is my new go to Laundromat in Martinez, it is easily the cleanest shop in town! read more

I've been using this laundromat for about 5 years. It's improved greatly this past couple of years. It's clean and there are new machines. My only complaints are that there is no one there during the day should something go wrong and there is nothing available to clean up spills. read more
