the laundromat in my neighborhood was out of order, so i decided to go here based on their great reviews. place was super clean upon entering which was my main concern (as is everybody's). the machines, inside and out, are also very clean and well-maintained. there are different sized washers suited to your needs and are priced accordingly. employees are very sweet and hardworking. one worker helped me out with the machine that provides a laundry card despite being busy with her own thing. there's a little thrift shop next door that i walked around in while my clothes were in the washer. very nice area overall. read more

Very clean and always have friendly staff on property to answer any questions. I have been taking my laundry here for about a year due to an injured neck/back and not being able to fold clothes anymore. My laundry always comes back smelling so good and perfectly folded. They even bring to my car so I don't have to lift the bags. Turn around seems to be about a day and I've never had anything go missing. Very thankful I found this place. read more

Wow. Nice little gem of a laundromat. The fact that they require a laundry card helps to keep the customers and place better kept. Looks like they even have a card reader for the bathroom. IMO this should theoretically help keep it clean or decent. Impressed with the quality of the machines and cleanliness of the place. I used to love this place but in the last year or so I've seen it go downhill. The guy who works here always has at least half of the dryers full and most are not even running. You can get the wash part done but there are never enough dryers available. I came in today to do 2 loads of laundry. There are about 5 people here and there are zero dryers available. The laundry attendant has at least 10 dryers full and only about 4 of them are running. There are NO dryers open. It is really starting to get old. I guess it is time to find a new laundromat. read more

Who would have thought that Concord would have the greatest laundromat ever?! This place is hands down best laundromat I have ever been to. Immaculately clean, always has an attendant, uses cards not coin (edit: takes cards and coin), has strong powerful machines of a wide variety of sizes, is next door to a great donut shop! There is always parking and air conditioning and heater. Huge carts to bring stuff from your car and I've never had a problem where there aren't any machines open. Great place! read more

Very large and clean laundry mat. This was my first time ever at a laundry mat outside of my apartment complex so I was clueless. I made the mistake of slamming the door instead of pushing it. I was also trying to use my credit card numerous times and it would not work because you have to go get the laundry mat charge card and pay that way (the pay station is in the front). I had to ask the gentleman that worked there to help me. He reminded me to not ever slam the doors and walked me through how to pay and told Me to ask him if I needed anything by else. 4 starts out of 5 just because this all could have been prevented if someone greeted me and asked me how they could help - and if they noticed I slammed the doors it's because I was new and that was the perfect opportunity to greet and help me out . For many people this is common sense because they've been to these laundry mats before. For me, it definitely wasn't. Maybe if the directions were printed on the wall - that would be very helpful for someone's very first time there. All In all I definitely recommend. Everyone stays in their car and because of that it's not crowded. I will be back. Hopefully this review helps someone who was clueless like me. read more

Worst service ever!!! 3 Loader machine out of order with no sign! Wasted so much detergent & scent booster, and time only for it NOT TO WORK. Asked the employee, an Asian girl, to at least give us a wash for free because of the inconvenience of us having to transfer all the clothes WITH THE SOAP. She gave us so much attitude and did not want to cooperate. While we spent over $20 for 4 machines. Well up untill last week i THOUGHT all the people who worked here were nice last time I literally got told with so much attitude to "DON'T SLAME THE WASHER DOOORS" I bearly pushed it in , it sounded louder because it was empty in there and the tv was off, so when i needed change I unfortunately had to ask the same gentlemen for help, I told him that should really be posted around if you don't like people slamming the doors because you DEMANDED not asked me to not do so, very rude he then had to tell me he's the technician for the businesses like that makes any difference or excuse for you to give me attitude? I don't know if it's new owner but the man who works there constantly remind us to not slam washer and dryer door. Like I'm doing it on purpose! Geez!. There's no outlet to plug in to charge our phone while doing laundry. It's been covered up, all throughout the facility! That's so petty. Im a paying customer and i should be able to use the outlet. This place uses card system to pay, and the minimum amount to add credit to the card is $5 using ATM or creditcard. I paid $5 to wash a king sized comforter and another $4 to dry at the highest setting. Are their dryers set low, so you have to pay more to dry your laundry? read more

I gave this place a try based on other Yelpers' reviews, and I'm glad I did! This IS a really nice place, very clean, double and triple capacity washers, huge dryers, lots of rolling baskets that are impeccably clean. Being someone who hasn't used a laundry facility for nearly 20 years, the person on duty was kind enough to come over and show me how to use the machines, as I'm sure I was looking pitifully inept. I'm not sure if it's cheaper or not, but if people here say they are, then I believe it. I paid $2.95 for a double cold water wash, and $1.25 for the dryer. Much cheaper than the laundry facility where I live (where there are 3 washers and 3 dryers for the entire building... but that's another story!), and LOTS of machines here, which is great. I love that they're open early (7am - 10pm 7 days a week) since I'm an early bird and do my best work in the mornings. Thanks Lava Dora, for being awesome! UPDATE: 5/28/2012 I am subtracting two stars for the unbelievably RUDE employee (a man of some Middle Eastern descent) who worked this past Saturday night. It's 5 minutes before closing and he's trying to kick me out, and keeps moving closer and closer to me. I'm female and alone in a deserted strip mall. To add insult to injury, when I called to report the conduct of this employee, "June" was more interested in reminding me of the posted closing time (which I'm well aware of, thanks), than my feeling threatened late at night. If this is what the owners consider good business practices, it's time for me to find another facility. read more

I have tried many of the laundromats in the area (and there are many) and Lava Dora is far and away the best by a long shot for the following reasons: -- Always attended by the owners & they are very helpful and friendly. -- Machines always work. -- Always immaculately clean. -- I never have any trouble getting a machine. -- They are lower priced than any other laundromat. -- They're open long hours (7am-10pm). -- Plenty of parking if you drive. -- Easy to get to by bus (County Connection line 10). -- Plenty of nearby shopping while you wait for your laundry. There are about half a dozen laundromats closer to my house but I pass them by to come here. Until I am wealthy enough to have a "staff" that does my laundry for me, this place and the owners make the tedious chore of me doing my own laundry bearable. ;o) read more

I'm so happy I found this place. I'm new to concord and I absolutely hate going to wash houses. So I've been looking around and this one is definitely the cleanest I've found in the area. Antonio that works there is so kind and really made me feel safe. It was early & I was alone. Anyway he helped me to my car. All the machines worked great. I love that you don't have to deal with quarters and the extra large machines are only 6$ I found that very fair. I highly recommend this place and I know I'll be back. Have you ever been in "laundromat hell"? Broken machines that eat your quarters, filthy folding tables, soap all over the floor? Not so at Lava Dora! Lava Dora is a clean, well maintained, and best of all, staffed laundromat. There is always an employee there to answer your questions and make sure the laundromat is clean and that the machines are functioning properly.. You don't use quarters here, you buy swipe cards from a vending machine. If you do show up with a load of quarters they will change them for you. The swipe cards can be a little tricky, but with a little practice you will get the technique down. The machines are numerous, with plenty of dryers. Extra large washers and dryers are available for big loads or large items. Wash and fold is available for a per pound fee. Drop your clothes off, pick them up later! Easy peasy! Seating is available, as is a TV, usually showing Discovery channel type shows, or kids shows if there are restless children. There is also a restroom available. There is a donut shop and two thrift stores nearby if you want to check them out while your clothes go round and round. Check it out! read more

What a friendly establishment! I laundered two sleeping bags here today, and I could not be happier with the service and quality at Lava Dora. I haven't visited a laundromat in many years, so I felt pretty out of my element.
