Really frustrated with Julie's rude retort to me, and now also the lack of return phone calls. Evidently no one answers their main salon phone - EVER. I left a couple of messages (after not receiving any response directly from my Stylist on her cell phone). I truly feared something had happened to her. Nope. Two months of worry later, and I finally managed to get an appointment. Ridiculous. And as to this invasive owner's response to my previous review? Outlandish twisting of the facts. Julie - I endured THREE separate appointments where I was mid-sentence with my Stylist and you just barged in to have your own conversation with her - EACH TIME. Only with her - over towels, "the machine", or a service person that didn't show up. Your issues had NOTHING to do with me. You never apologized for your intrusion, or even acknowledged me - not ONCE. I am looking for a new salon and stylist. I shouldn't have to call repeatedly to get an appointment, and Julie, it is VERY RUDE to constantly interrupt clients who are in mid sentence with their Stylists. And with your inaccurate response where you feign to have been conversing with ME - you have convinced me. I shall find a new salon where I am treated as if I exist. read more

Lynn, the lady who supposedly does eyebrow & eyelash tinting. Which is apparently illegal in CA now. Is EXTREMELY unprofessional. My appointment was scheduled for 2 p.m. when I showed up at 2 the receptionist told me she was 30-45 minutes behind. No one even called to tell me! I patiently waited outside & returned 45 minutes later. No one greeted me when I came back inside or acknowledged my presence. At 3:15, yes, an hour & 15 minutes after my appointment was originally scheduled for I got up to ask what was going on. Lynn was unapologetic & could pretty much care less. No apology from anyone! I had to hire a sitter & take time away from my 6 month old baby to try & pamper myself, which I never even got to do because she was still with another client. ** 3/6 update to review: The Salon owner reached out to me & was very sorry the situation happened, she empathized & indicated that this was not the norm for the salon. I was looking for a good deal and a chance to find a stylist that I could rely on in a new area. After looking at several Groupon deals, this one seemed the best and I was booked a morning appointment with Holli for full highlights. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, and explained the entire process for someone unfamiliar with the process! We lightened my hair to warm caramel highlights, and she used toner to even out the colors, giving me the in-house treatment. It was very lovely talking to her, and the time passed by quite quickly. Book her now while you can, her schedule's filling up fast! Parking can get crowded some days, so I'd recommend arriving a few minutes early. I've been so wrapped up in writing about food that I didn't realize it's been almost 2 years since I wrote about one of the most important people in my life: my hair stylist. Jodi Stetson has been the only person I trust with highlighting my hair for the last 3 years. Even though San Francisco seems to have everything a person could possibly need, I am still traveling from SF to Sacramento every couple of months to get my hair did. Sure, visiting my parents is nice, but they shouldn't fool themselves - I primarily go home to see Jodi. First of all, she's consistent. Whether I ask to be a bit blonder or just get a touch up, I get exactly what I want every time. In 3 years I've never left the salon thinking, "I wish it was a bit lighter, but I guess it looks good." Instead, I leave thinking "Goddamn! I look good!" Secondly, her prices are incredibly reasonable. As I said before, it's actually just as cheap for me to get a round trip ticket to Sac and have Jodi do my hair vs. going to a local salon. And to clarify, I'm not saying that and getting some kind of friend discount - the price of a full highlight (2 colors, btw) is actually that inexpensive. Finally, and what's been the most important for me, she's very flexible and always works around my schedule, even if it's incredibly short notice. Sure I've known her for some time, but I have no doubt that she's super accommodating with all of her clients. There's no "Jodi has an opening in a month" bs like you often find in chi-chi SF salons. And the results are just as good as those elite salons! I mean, just look at my hair in my Yelp photos. It's goddamn gorgeous. ;) read more

Brenda Foisy is unprofessional, the Worst stylist, "Self Centered", & "Narcissistic"! When I arrived for an appointment she ran out telling me she has someone else in the chair & to return in an hour. I returned & she again told me to come back in an hour. Both times she refused to allow me to wait inside the salon. Turns out she "bumped" me for preferred clients. She never showed any concern, nor did she offer me any compensation for my inconvenience & her unprofessional behavior. Then there was the time I showed up for my appointment only to be told she was having work done & unavailable. Did not realize what a poor job she had done on my hair until I had someone else cut my hair. Don't waste your $$$ or time with her. read more

Julie is very knowledgeable about the Shellac product line and proper application techniques. In addition, she is very detail oriented and does an excellent job every time. Liv is the only hairstylist that my 16 year old son has been comfortable using. She has a very easy going personality and puts him at ease during every appointment. She does an excellent job of cutting his hair in a contemporary and trendy style. Liv is also amazing at creating gorgeous up do styles for special occasions and can work with any type of hair from thin to thick, coarse or curly. Liv has been my daughter's go-to-gal for every important social event, school dance, or senior portrait session. Liv provided practical suggestions and advice when my daughter decided to completely change her hair color and style, by persuading her to try a more conservative approach before attempting something so radical and potentially damaging to her hair. I called and got an appointment within a couple days very luckily. Ambiance of the salon was adorable and I had Mallory for my stylist. She was bubbly and fun and made me feel very comfortable! I had a hot mess for hair and she fixed up my brassy old ombre with some beautiful subtle highlights. I am very easy to please and am precise with what I want being a cosmetologist in the past. Bought a Groupon for cut and color for $50. I was scheduled for the next business day within 2 hours of contacting the salon. I arrived about 30 minutes early, and she took me right away. Everyone I met there was really friendly. It's a beautiful location with great ambience. I had my hair done by Brenda. She's great. Really friendly and did a fantastic job. I made a really drastic change, cutting off at least 10 inches in my estimation. She made sure she understood exactly what I wanted before she started cutting and it looks great. I love the color. She chose the perfect shade of chocolate brown for me. Close to my natural color but dramatic enough to really pop. Her non Groupon price is very reasonable too, so I'll be able maintain my look without much trouble. I highly recommend this salon and Brenda. read more

Kylie serviced two of my sisters and did a wonderful job so I reached out to her to see if she could do mine also, I was very clear in my initial text that my hair is dyed an unnatural color and that I wanted it to be dyed to a different unnatural color. Kylie did not respond to me for days, when she did finally respond she asked me to send photos of my current hair, what I was looking to get and also my availability to schedule. I responded immediately, and kylie never responded to me, a week later I reached out asking if she was still open to schedule, again to no respond. Only to find out that same day my sister had messaged her and scheduled an appointment the following week. I think this is very unprofessional and if she was unable to perform the service I asked for she could have said it wasn't her specialty and directed me to someone who could or at least say she wasn't accepting mew clients if she didn't want to say she wasn't comfortable performing the service!
