They do not answer the phone and don't return messages left. Very poor communication and customer service!

Really frustrated with Julie's rude retort to me, and now also the lack of return phone calls. Evidently no one answers their main salon phone - EVER. I left a couple of messages (after not receiving any response directly from my Stylist on her cell phone). I truly feared something had happened to her. Nope. Two months of worry later, and I finally managed to get an appointment. Ridiculous. And as to this invasive owner's response to my previous review? Outlandish twisting of the facts. Julie - I endured THREE separate appointments where I was mid-sentence with my Stylist and you just barged in to have your own conversation with her - EACH TIME. Only with her - over towels, "the machine", or a service person that didn't show up. Your issues had NOTHING to do with me. You never apologized for your intrusion, or even acknowledged me - not ONCE. I am looking for a new salon and stylist. I shouldn't have to call repeatedly to get an appointment, and Julie, it is VERY RUDE to constantly interrupt clients who are in mid sentence with their Stylists. And with your inaccurate response where you feign to have been conversing with ME - you have convinced me. I shall find a new salon where I am treated as if I exist. read more

After moving away from the Sacramento area for several years I came back and returned to The Last Tangle. my stylist, Kim Highsmith is one of the best for reasons too many to list here. Met Julie King on a social media site after posting about needing a new nail tech. She was professional, friendly and was great all around! I also met a few of the other 32 ladies who work at the salon. My nails look amazing! I'm a pink and white kinda girl and am quite picky. Julie took the time to carefully soak off my old acrylic set and formed a new sparky set. Her attention to detail is amazing. Needless to say, I'm going back :) read more

I was looking for a good deal and a chance to find a stylist that I could rely on in a new area. After looking at several Groupon deals, this one seemed the best and I was booked a morning appointment with Holli for full highlights. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, and explained the entire process for someone unfamiliar with the process! We lightened my hair to warm caramel highlights, and she used toner to even out the colors, giving me the in-house treatment. It was very lovely talking to her, and the time passed by quite quickly. Book her now while you can, her schedule's filling up fast! Parking can get crowded some days, so I'd recommend arriving a few minutes early. The salon itself is located in the center of the plaza and is very spacious and comfortable. Everyone was very cheerful, and you can see why they are so established! read more

Lynn, the lady who supposedly does eyebrow & eyelash tinting. Which is apparently illegal in CA now. Is EXTREMELY unprofessional. My appointment was scheduled for 2 p.m. when I showed up at 2 the receptionist told me she was 30-45 minutes behind. No one even called to tell me! I patiently waited outside & returned 45 minutes later. No one greeted me when I came back inside or acknowledged my presence. At 3:15, yes, an hour & 15 minutes after my appointment was originally scheduled for I got up to ask what was going on. Lynn was unapologetic & could pretty much care less. No apology from anyone! I had to hire a sitter & take time away from my 6 month old baby to try & pamper myself, which I never even got to do because she was still with another client. ** 3/6 update to review: The Salon owner reached out to me & was very sorry the situation happened, she empathized & indicated that this was not the norm for the salon. I do appreciate the contact & hope the salon & that Lynn a speedy recovery. read more

I've been searching for someone who could do a good a-line AND good color. It's been tough!!! Aimee nailed it! I love my hair & am so happy to have found Aimee at The Last Tangle. Also, the vibe in there is so down to earth & fun, everyone was so friendly! read more

Holli is amazing. She gave me a great cut with perfect highlights. She knew exactly how to cut my thicker wavy hair, which can be hard to find. The salon itself is clean and very nice looking on the inside. The other staff seemed nice and it was overall a good atmosphere. The outside is a bit deceiving. It's a little hard to find and doesn't look like a place I would normally go to from the outside. The pricing is fair and the offer a variety of services. I definitely plan on going back to see Holli! read more

This salon is so beautiful! The ambiance is fun and the decor is a cute ocean mermaid theme! I just love all the detail in the decorations. The stylists are warm and I am always greeted with a smile. I drive all the way from Elk Grove to this salon because the vibe is so great! I recommend you make an appointment with Vickie! She is great! She is super knowledgeable. During my appointments she explains what she is doing every step of the way and always answers my questions without making me feel silly for asking. She suggests different options with a no pressure approach. I have learned so much about the processing and cutting of my hair during our appointments. She is very easy to talk to and goes out of her way to make her clients feel special. I have really long hair and every stylist I have been to has 'recommended' I cut it short or to trim it an insane amount. Not Vickie. She embraces my long hair and works with it to give me the color, cut, and style I desire. She understands that your hair is the crown you wear everyday and when you look in the mirror you should feel like the princess you are! I leave her chair feeling beautiful every time! read more

The Last Tangle Salon - Loving my blonde by Kylie! - Nail Salons Near Me - Orangevale, California

I've been so wrapped up in writing about food that I didn't realize it's been almost 2 years since I wrote about one of the most important people in my life: my hair stylist. Jodi Stetson has been the only person I trust with highlighting my hair for the last 3 years. Even though San Francisco seems to have everything a person could possibly need, I am still traveling from SF to Sacramento every couple of months to get my hair did. Sure, visiting my parents is nice, but they shouldn't fool themselves - I primarily go home to see Jodi. First of all, she's consistent. Whether I ask to be a bit blonder or just get a touch up, I get exactly what I want every time. In 3 years I've never left the salon thinking, "I wish it was a bit lighter, but I guess it looks good." Instead, I leave thinking "Goddamn! I look good!" Secondly, her prices are incredibly reasonable. As I said before, it's actually just as cheap for me to get a round trip ticket to Sac and have Jodi do my hair vs. going to a local salon. And to clarify, I'm not saying that and getting some kind of friend discount - the price of a full highlight (2 colors, btw) is actually that inexpensive. Finally, and what's been the most important for me, she's very flexible and always works around my schedule, even if it's incredibly short notice. Sure I've known her for some time, but I have no doubt that she's super accommodating with all of her clients. There's no "Jodi has an opening in a month" bs like you often find in chi-chi SF salons. And the results are just as good as those elite salons! I mean, just look at my hair in my Yelp photos. It's goddamn gorgeous. ;) read more

Brenda Foisy is unprofessional, the Worst stylist, "Self Centered", & "Narcissistic"! When I arrived for an appointment she ran out telling me she has someone else in the chair & to return in an hour. I returned & she again told me to come back in an hour. Both times she refused to allow me to wait inside the salon. Turns out she "bumped" me for preferred clients. She never showed any concern, nor did she offer me any compensation for my inconvenience & her unprofessional behavior. Then there was the time I showed up for my appointment only to be told she was having work done & unavailable. Did not realize what a poor job she had done on my hair until I had someone else cut my hair. Don't waste your $$$ or time with her. read more

Review #1. Julie King is my manicurist and I have a standing appointment every two weeks for a Shellac manicure. Julie is very knowledgeable about the Shellac product line and proper application techniques. In addition, she is very detail oriented and does an excellent job every time. I would highly recommend her, but she is already so popular that I think her calendar is booked solid with regular clientele. Review #2. Liv (Butler) Loera (hair). Liv is the only hairstylist that my 16 year old son has been comfortable using. She has a very easy going personality and puts him at ease during every appointment. She does an excellent job of cutting his hair in a contemporary and trendy style. Liv is also amazing at creating gorgeous up do styles for special occasions and can work with any type of hair from thin to thick, coarse or curly. Liv has been my daughter's go-to-gal for every important social event, school dance, or senior portrait session. Liv provided practical suggestions and advice when my daughter decided to completely change her hair color and style, by persuading her to try a more conservative approach before attempting something so radical and potentially damaging to her hair. We love Liv and hope she returns to work after having her first baby. read more

I am a huge Groupon fan and I found this salon through there. I frequently use Groupon since I'm newer to the area and like to test out different places before I blow a ton of money. I called and got an appointment within a couple days very luckily. Ambiance of the salon was adorable and I had Mallory for my stylist. She was bubbly and fun and made me feel very comfortable! I had a hot mess for hair and she fixed up my brassy old ombre with some beautiful subtle highlights. I am very easy to please and am precise with what I want being a cosmetologist in the past. It is astonishing that it has taken me this long to find a stylist that I adore! Needless to say I've already planned out my next two appointments to get my brunette hair to sunkissed blonde before summer read more

My husband bought me a Groupon to try this salon and I was nervous to try a new place. So, I came here and looked at the reviews. I saw that Kersti had some awesome reviews for blond hair so I called and request her. When she called me back she was friendly and fit me in for two days later- Friday. Kersti was so welcoming and friendly. She listened to what I wanted to done to my hair, much lighter and blonder, and she blew me away with the outcome! My hair looks gorgeous and it is the best I have ever had it. I absolutely LOVE my hair and I am thankful for the reviews on here about Kersti. My hair looks like a movie star and feels so smooth! I have been to The Last Tangle with and without a Groupon, I saw Danielle F, and she is AMAZING! She is super friendly, knowledgeable, and listens to what you want. She offers opinions and advice, and creates a masterpiece :) I adore her! My sister has been getting her hair done by Danielle for years, I however, fear change so it took me a long while to actually commit to an appointment with someone I'd never been to! When I did, I couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Seriously. I CONTINUE to get compliments on my highlights (and I usually wait about 8-10 weeks for touch-ups!) They look natural, and soft, even after not keeping up on them! Keri B is also amazing and will entertain you through your appointment! haha The salon is VERY clean, everyone is really really nice, and the prices are affordable! It is such a relaxed environment there, no one is pretentious, no one is judging you. It's really a comfortable break from life :) ENJOY! :) read more

Bought a Groupon for cut and color for $50. I was scheduled for the next business day within 2 hours of contacting the salon. I arrived about 30 minutes early, and she took me right away. Everyone I met there was really friendly. It's a beautiful location with great ambience. I had my hair done by Brenda. She's great. Really friendly and did a fantastic job. I made a really drastic change, cutting off at least 10 inches in my estimation. She made sure she understood exactly what I wanted before she started cutting and it looks great. I love the color. She chose the perfect shade of chocolate brown for me. Close to my natural color but dramatic enough to really pop. Her non Groupon price is very reasonable too, so I'll be able maintain my look without much trouble. I highly recommend this salon and Brenda. read more
