Had a great dinner here to use the celebration dinner. Made a reservation earlier in the day for the evening. Checked in early for our reservation and had a table within a few minutes. The staff are incredibly kind and accommodating. We ordered the ribeye, bruschetta chicken, Gouda mac & cheese bites, and the carrot cake. Everything was absolutely wonderful! Our waitress was on top of everything. The bread was served quickly to start, it was delicious with the logo marked into the butter. We were served water with lemons right away. The restaurant has open views of the kitchen which is cool. There are also multiple TVs throughout the restaurant which had the NFL Games on. Using our entertainment dollar on some slots, my friend treated me to dinner here. This is located inside the Harrah's River Valley casino in Murphy, NC. I started with the French onion soup which had a nice beefy flavor. I also split some crab cakes that were pretty good as well with a mild remoulade sauce. Unfortunately, my salmon entree was waaayyyy over cooked! Like dry as a hockey puck! The mashed potatoes were plentiful but could not help that fish. The fried green tomatoes had a crust that was too thick and oddly very bland. I felt bad for leaving it uneaten - should have sent it back but it was a complimentary meal so took my loss. My friend's shrimp dinner was huge, so I ate some of her shrimp instead and we still couldn't eat it all - a massive portion. I really wanted to like the landing but sheesh. This is my second time here and I really think I'm over it. For one, the calabash shrimp is dry. It's really just fried shrimp. Kind of like popcorn shrimp. Next, the Caesar salad was dry even after I got the extra Caesar dressing. It wasn't great. Next, the garlic Parmesan wings are ok. That was probably the best thing I've had. The cheeseburger was seasoned well. I asked for it with bacon. It came with the burger then bacon and the cheese on top of the bacon - LOL huh? So what do you do when your mom says she wants to go out to eat on thanksgiving a few days before the holiday? You scramble! Luckily my husband found that this restaurant was still taking reservations. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Turkey specials were ordered by most of us, so it won't be available if you go next week. But if our dishes where any indication of how the rest of the menu will be than you will enjoy your meal. Turkey was tender, mashed potatoes creamy, stuffing delicious and the pumpkin pie sent me to heaven! So the tradition of stuffed on thanksgiving remains! Portions are huge, we took most of it home. I will wait an hour or two before I pick at it again! Lots of parking, great service. Full service bar and nice wine menu. Inside the River Valley Casino. Food was good overall. Questionable customer service. Bad policies for an all you can eat crab leg special. If you make reservations for their crab leg special, make sure that you get an early time slot or you may be disappointed that you didn't quite get all you could eat. Reservations are made up through 9 PM but you still have to get your initial order and are only allowed to reorder until 10 when the kitchen closes. If there is to be an all you can eat crab leg special, you should be given time to eat said crab legs. Not only be given an hour which includes the 20 minutes to get your initial order out to you. They were more accommodating towards the end with bringing extra clusters but they did cool off before they could be eaten and they were soggy so they didn't really crack well and didn't taste very good. There were also things attached to the bottom of the crab body part of the shell maybe barnacles or something that could have been picked off; picture attached. Regarding the service; waitress was awesome in the beginning. When asked about reorders after the first order came out, was told that the kitchen would be closing soon so she was not sure how many orders we could get in. At that point I asked to speak to a manager to which I was told that they wouldn't really do anything. I did not press the issue. After that the server brought the check before we were finished eating and said that it would be nice to go ahead and take it up since the cashier likes to get out on time. This is while we are eating crab legs and our hands are full of juices. Not good customer service and not very respectful. After that, the server came by again sweeping the floor and saying that they have other duties so it's okay if we are there after closing which is fine but it was said very passive aggressively. This is a casino restaurant where the experience should be over the top and extremely positive; especially for a diamond Caesar's Rewards member. When my wife come to Murphy to go to the casino, we always eat at the landing cafe. You should make reservations ahead of time, just so you have a table ready when you yourself are ready to eat. My wife and I usually get the Alfredo. Her, she gets the chicken alfredo, myself, I get the shrimp alfredo. The sauce is so rich and the dishes are so aromatic and mouth watering. They also give you little pieces of baguette bread(garlic) that are a nice extra piece of sunshine. Very Friendly staff. Worst food I have ever eaten. We ordered a ribeye (46)and a filet ($50) and I can honestly say that applebees is like Ruth chris compared to these steaks. It was that bad, on top of the steaks coming out the wrong temp (way overcooked) the filet smelt like soured milk and both steaks tasted awful, and when I tried to send them back, we were told that since their manager had already left for the night there was little they could do. They would not recook our food, not that that would of made the taste of the steaks any better. Eat here if you want to start your night off horribly. My husband and I made our first time visit to The Landing Cafe on Sunday 6/12 as we wanted to try something different and what we thought would be a little more upscale than what we have found in the area. We were a little disappointed when we walked in being greeted by the person at the hostess desk as they were not very welcoming. Our waitress seemed a bit distracted possibly overworked, but she did manage to have a slight smile every now and then. We both ordered the special which was a tuna steak with two sides. For the price you do get great portions, however the tuna was over cooked it was like eating tuna out of the can, disappointing. The salad was mostly lettuce, with a few slivers of onion, 3 thinly sliced pieces of cucumber, and 2 small cherry tomatoes . I reviewed the menu online prior to arrival and decided to walk down from my hotel room to try the new restaurant described as a cafe. I don't believe the room had a menu present, but that might be a good way to promote this new eatery. Harrah's really missed the mark on the architecture & design of this cafe. Although the menu boasts aged steak and entrees exceeding the $30.00 mark, this is nothing more than a cafeteria. It is overwhelmingly bright with harsh LED lighting. There is not one piece of art on the wall. Televisions will soon be installed as I see the plug on the walls ready for installation. Elevator music gently plays. The bar overlooks the chef's kitchen. It feels like a hospital cafeteria. Actually, it feels like a banquet hall. From the glassware to cloth napkins, bread service + condiments in plastic containers with lids. The hostess (Alex) was very friendly and sat me at a booth per my request. She even delivered my drink. The menu offers an assortment of items for everyone's taste. I ordered the Landing Burger and replaced the beef patty with chicken. It was delicious! Fries were served piping hot and the staff was friendly. Outstanding service from the host Jordan and FIVE-STAR service from our waitress Hannah! It was our first time eating here and had the pleasure of using our $100 Diamond Celebration Dinner. We made our reservation with Jordan and he was professional and helpful even when we needed to make changes. Hannah provided the best restaurant experience I've had in a long time. She was friendly, efficient, and filled every request we had! The food, while perhaps a bit overpriced, was delicious and the portions were generous. We had the Shrimp Scampi, Chicken Parm, and Salmon. Our table was tucked away and more than 10 feet from the closes table. EVERYONE had masks and we were asked to sanitize our hands before entering. We are currently staying at the Casino and just wanted on our first night to have something simple so we decided a burger at The Landing Cafe. Service was good but probably the worst burger we have ever gotten! To top this the Fries were cold. We commented to the waitress our concerns and she basically said "O well". We were first greeted by 3 hostesses, who were happy to show us the menu before we decide to sit down. One of the hostesses were talking about inappropriate personal information loud enough for us to hear. After we were seated our waitress came up to the table immediately. My guest already had a beer from the casino, so she asked if he'd like a water. He accepted. She was very upbeat and welcoming. A few seconds later a another waitress came over to take our drink order. We told her that another girl already had taken our order. The first girl came back with our drinks. She asked us if we needed more time and I said we were ready to order. I ordered the Taste of Italy and my fiance ordered the Filet. He asked what came with it and the waitress said this was her first table alone. She went right to it in the menu and told him what options he had. While we were waiting for our food, the assistant manager came over and asked my fiance if he wanted a glass for his beer and he brought a frosted mug. The food came and the Taste of Italy looked and smelled so good. The filet with baked potato and asparagus looked good, but the potato was not cut in half and the butter and sour cream came in little plastic containers, which seemed odd on a $32 steak plate. The waitress said the steak plate was hot. That was odd to me as well for a steak. With all that weird stuff, one bite into the taste of italy and I was in heaven. The cheese, sausage and pasta were incredible. It was way too much for me to eat it all, but it was so good. We really enjoy our date nights to The Landing. My wife and I usually share a meal due to the size of the portions and we split a salad or app as well. Quality of food is quite high and the service is always good. However, the real treat comes for dessert. Their cakes are AMAZING and absolutely massive. Our personal favorite is the carrot cake, but the others are fantastic as well. We have had the seafood, steaks and pizza and have enjoyed all of them. First, I must remember it is a "Café" and not what I would consider a "restaurant" and really wish they would put in a nice restaurant. That said, it was not bad, I had gambling points so it was free, but it was good enough I would have paid. They have draft beer (+1), which they have to go get at the bar outside the café. I would give the service a 5. It was around 7 PM on a Tuesday and the waiter was excellent and very helpful. Well, I want to start out and say that our service was very good, our waitress was efficient and concerned and very active regarding my shellfish allergy. That's why I gave it a one star. She deserved that. I ordered the chicken Alfredo and my partner ordered the salmon with mashed potatoes. I took a bite of my Alfredo and thought..."hmmm, the chicken is cool" the pasta was warm and I figured they just did a reheat on precooked chicken. I had to add salt and a ton of pepper to the dish, as well as Tabasco , just to give it flavor. I pulled the larger piece of chicken out to cut it and it was RAW in the middle. I have eaten raw chicken. The manager came over and wanted to know if he could get me anything else. The answer was a resounding no. I hope I don't get sick from this. He did take my food off the bill, as he should have, he didn't, however come back to the table, nor did he apologize for this horrific meal. The salmon was over cooked, dry and flavorless as well. I would absolutely have to be dying of hunger and everything else on the planet closed to eat here again. The potatoes and blue cheese dressing were good. If you like a little romaine, 2 cucumber slices, 2cherry tomatoes an abundance of red onions...order the blue cheese dressing with it. Didn't take pics of the raw chicken but, ya know.
