Replacement glass lamp shade Marianne tracked down for me.

Excellent, excellent customer service. Our cats broke a glass lamp shade to a lamp that belonged to my mom who passed away in February. It had a lot of sentimental value to me and I was very disappointed that I couldn't seem to find the right lampshade anywhere. Marianne was wonderful, extremely helpful and not only tracked down the right shade, when she learned it was discontinued she was still able to find me one, very quickly at that. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this business. I felt like they valued me and went above and beyond.

Talk about specialty stores. This is very specific, eh? But, it's true; the lighting you choose does change the whole feel of your home. I haven't quite mastered lamps. I consider most of the lamps I've seen to be stuffy or odd, if I'm even cognizant of them at all. When I was shopping for lamps for my new place, I found the prices at this store to be out of my range. I wasn't willing to pay that much. But they did have a wide selection and were very personable. I noticed that they carry more than just lamps as they had some small gifts and home accessories including a selection of pillows, ornamental plates, and potpourris. Plus, if you're really into lamps, they have decorative finials (the little screwy piece that connects the lamp shade to the lamp). They also have miniature shades for chandeliers. If your lamp is broken, bring it in. They'll see what they can do. In fact, they recommend bringing your lamp in if you're looking for a new shade so that instead of imagining what the shade will look like on your lamp, you can try the shades on for size. The Lamp Shade has been around since the early seventies (at a different location), and people really do come from all over Ohio to sample the wares. They have a variety of styles, the largest selection in central Ohio. I can't say I understand it, but they do know their business.

I just purchased a cabinet from them. Cheap, no, but comparable in price to similar items, including from the online sites that don't allow you to touch the item before purchasing. It was exactly what I needed for the space, so splurged a bit. I had a relative meet the delivery team 6 weeks later, and one door on the cabinet wasn't sliding perfectly. He worked on it 30 minutes but ultimately could not get it to be up to the standard of the model in the store. Within one week, they had a replacement delivered. They were very communicative about delivery times and gave a 1 hour window so we didn't spend half a day waiting around. I agree with some other reviewers that the in-store staff aren't overly warm, but I have always been welcomed with a hello and they were more than helpful when I have asked for assistance. I honestly prefer this shopping experience. Most times, I just want to browse on my own and not interact with staff beyond hello/good-bye.

However, I found the prices to be a turnoff. I saw several items that seemed to be vastly over priced. And it made me a little suspicious. For example- pulleys. I couldn't find one under $125. But I have bought several of the same quality for $40-$70 apiece. Similarly- old doors. Some of the doors marked $425 can be easily found elsewhere for $50-$100. Certainly some were worth the price but I was shocked at how many plain wood doors were marked up that high. All this being said, I don't know much about what the Columbus market will bear and they do have some truly amazing stuff here. I saw a phenomenal stained glass window- appeared to be from an old church? And glass door knobs- they had a ton of those as well as other hard to find hardware... Bottom line, I might stop here if I have my heart set in something in particular but it will have to be an investment piece... And something super special...
