I've been in Tampa for a/b 2 1/2 years now, and before finding The Spa by Folashadé, I'd tried anywhere from 8 - 10 different places, and I was always disappointed in something. Whether it was the service, the wait, the quality of work, cleanliness or quality of the location, etc...it was always something. I almost gave up, but then I found HER! I'd asked in a Tampa Facebook group for suggestions, and Thank the Lord for the person who recommended The Spa by Folashadé! Trust me when I say that I am super picky a/b the quality of work, customer service, overall cleanliness, and the maintenance of the health of my nails. From day one, she has impressed me and has never disappointed. She listens to her clients and will pivot and make adjustments as necessary. She cleans and sanitizes thoroughly between clients, and I've never seen one spec of dust or any type of build up anywhere! Additionally, she doesn't usually do nail designs on natural nails, but I asked her to, and she used her creative skills to come up with something cute, even though it was out of her comfort zone. I can't stress enough how much those little things mean in a service oriented field. I've posted several pics, but they don't do justice at all b/c of lighting. I especially love the "experience" of The Spa by Folashadé. It is a true one on one, luxurious, "spa like" experience, so I am ok paying premium prices for that. Even the music she plays is a whole vibe! For as long as I reside in the Tampa Bay Area, I will never go anywhere else. U have to experience it for yourself, and you'll totally understand why!

I was getting my nails and feet done for a special occasion which I been looking forward to months. I ended up getting French tips and within four days all of the tips were off my original nail. I had to go to my special occasion with my nails, looking like I've never had them done. When I returned from my trip, I went directly to the nail show them my nails, and what was left of the tips on my thumbs. The owner seemed empathetic and she did tell me we would redo my nails. I my nails done for a special occasion. I didn't want them done for no reason sit for 2 1/2 hours more. I did not have the time. I requested half of my money back since my pedicure turned out fine, the owner denied my request. I have never done a negative review and the reason I am doing it is because I am not on what kind of chemicals they use, but this is never happened to me and I've been getting my nails done for over 40 years Just a heads up

When I arrived, I was slightly disconcerted because the space doubles as a perfume boutique, a pole dance studio and the nail salon. Also the nail salon is nothing fancy. Their pedi is fantastic but the last time or two I noticed that while they were sanitizing their equipment they were reusing the pumice stone. I mentioned it this time and she went and got a new one but I bet the next customer will receive. Granted it is the home of the $18 pedi. Lastly, I must mention that they have their small children there almost every time I have been in. On this last occasion the children were acting up and the father reprimanded them in front of me which made me quite uncomfortable. I will not likely return.

I walked in and I was instantly greeted and asked what services I needed done. They didn't have a wide range of polish colors but I was able to find a pink for my toes and another shade for my finger nails. I chose the regular pedicure ($28 vs deluxe $35). The water was nice and hot, just how I like it! I was told to choose a lotion scent. I chose the rose one. The man there began working on my refill as I was getting my feet worked on. I don't think I've had my toe nail cuticles cut ever! That was a pleasant surprise. :) I actually felt like I got to soak my feet for once. It wasn't rushed. Although this nail salon is pricier than most in the area ( I usually pay $23 for regular pedi), it felt like I was receiving a deluxe pedi. As far as the nail salon itself goes, it's definitely dated and not modern in any way possible. Being that this nail salon is so close to my home, I came here excited to support a business in my…read moreneighborhood. The salon is located in the Publix shopping center, and is very clean. The first time I came for a gel mani & pedi, it was $165 including tip. I did get the removal of previous gel, upgraded pedi, and designs on two toes and two fingers. One of the men assisted me on my first visit. He was very nice, and spent a good amount of time on the massage portion; however was not very good with the cutting and cleaning part. Also, a different woman assisted with the design parts. The design didn't turn out too great, I wanted gold specks sprinkled around and it looked like large gold polka dots instead. Nonetheless, it was fine and my nails lasted about three weeks. I recently went back on Thursday evening for only a manicure that was $58, including tip. This time the woman, who helped with the design in the last appt, assisted me. When removing the old gel, she was aggressive but nonetheless, got the job done. She did a great job with cleaning my nails though. Sadly, same as my first visit, I wasn't satisfied with the design. ....24hrs later, one of the gold ribbons came off. Now, I've gotten nail designs with ribbon, jewels, etc in the past and this is the very first time it has ever fallen off in 24hrs. Maybe one week, but never one day. I went back to the salon today to have it fixed, and was asked to wait a few minutes. While waiting, the woman who did my manicure stated, "this design doesn't last long". Which was surprising for me to hear. 15mins later I was still waiting. I asked for an ETA, and was told a few more mins. After another 10mins, I decided it was no longer worth my time. 2 stars for cleanliness and the employees are very nice. However I cannot justify paying the higher price range for nails that last 24hrs.
