Would not suggest this salon to anyone. Don will argue with you about whether your nail shape needs to be evened out and will take almost 2 hours to do a full set acrylic manicure with French tips. The white will be wavy around the edges and completely uneven on each nail. When I came back the next day to get the pedicure that I had booked with my manicure (but didn't get done because he took so long), I asked to get the polish on my nails fixed and was told to come back another day. I only get my nails done 2-3 times a year and when I do, I go to Manhattan. I have typically had pretty good experiences, so I never schedule with a specific person. This day I wanted a regular pedicure and a gel manicure and I was told Suzan would take care of me. I noticed from the start that she was very rushed. She did not ask if I wanted my toes clipped and did not bother to file them. When she wanted me to move my foot, she harshly slapped multiple times. Her massage was also 2 minutes total. For my nails, she barely filed them and continued to push and slap my hands around. I asked for a coat of pink and the simple design pictured below. I never have asked for a design and knew my nails might be too small for it, which she agreed with. She offered to do the design on one nail which was perfectly fine with me. She rushed on the base color, leaving my nails streaky and with paint around my cuticles upon further inspection. She also did not match the design at all. What she painted (took 30 seconds) was very cute, but I showed the picture again seeing if she could copy it more exactly and she said no. The pedicure and manicure took 50 minutes total, both services usually lasting 90 minutes, so I knew she rushed. I was also charged for the "design" which did not match what I asked for and took 30 seconds to complete. I am not one to complain, but after paying $77 for a quality of mani/pedi I could probably replicate at home, I am hesitant to go back. There are some amazing nail techs at Manhattan who are meticulous and gentle, Suzan is not one of them. read more

Unfortunately, I have to write in saying that I did not have a good experience today and will not be returning after enjoying coming two other times. I paid for gel x manicure today after booking a time and received confirmation for today at 6:15 pm three days ahead of time. Now I get that it's less than 1.5 hours before closing but I did select the service before choosing a time offered by the company. My whole appointment felt rushed after they called twice and texted after to say they needed to change the salonist and time to 6:20 pm while I was at work. There was no manicure as the technician had to rip off my thumb nails twice to redo for her error in application (which hurt btw) no oil used and paint didn't come to skin because of the cuticles left on. Finally there is gel attaching my nails to skin underneath as no cleaning was done either. Disappointing to say the least after spending $70. read more

I have been getting my nails done for years, gel, dip, and acrylic. I started coming here after seeing positive reviews and being fed up with the last salon I used. I asked for Lily and she has been great for acrylic nails and pedicures. I only need to tell her once what I like and she just gets it. She's fast and efficient and there isn't a language barrier. She is really meticulous with her pedicures and gives me tips on how to care for my nails. I never have issues with my nails chipping or cracking or lifting. The man who makes the appointments is polite and friendly also. I would highly recommend Lily and this salons. As far as the negative reviews of people walking out unhappy with their nails...sounds like they have a problem communicating what they want. After my finger got infected at another salon and I had to do a round of antibiotics while pregnant, I went searching for one that seemed clean and reliable. First of all, they offer a $35 pedicure that uses organic products, come with a mask for your legs in addition to a sugar scrub and massage. Yes please. They have a lot of colors to choose from and I went with a red for my toes. The same girl did my gel manicure also which I really like because normally I'm passed off to someone else for that. She let me try like 6 different reds because I was super indecisive and she was very nice. Not the best experience. My friends and I scheduled 4 pedicures for 1pm. When we arrived my 3 friends were seated and I went ahead and chose to wait. I ended up waiting for an available chair and nail tech for about 45 minutes. By the time a nail tech was available for me I just had her do a gel polish change on my toes because my friends were wrapping up and done while mine had just been started. They still chose to charge me $43 when my service was less than 25 minutes. I didn't get a massage, nothing really fancy at all for the cost. It was really a disappointment overall. read more

I booked through their website, where they have specific options for full design acrylic choose. There's a few things: 1. I was going to a nail tech named An. I had been to her numerous times and recommended her to many people I have met and know. Unfortunately due to my last review and honesty about my last experience An decided that she no longer wanted me as a customer. When I spoke to the owner of the salon I was informed she no longer wanted to book me or have me as a customer because she felt I didn't trust her due to my question of why I was charged for a nail shape(simple almond shape) as well as being charged for the full nail service. I had never been charged this before so yes I questioned it as any person would. To block someone who has praised her work, recommended her, waited for 45 minutes for her one morning, and tipped extremely generously does not show good customer service. My previous reviews have spoke of unnecessary attitude and late appointments before yet I've always come back so this was an unfortunate breakup. 2. After my talk with the owner today about the situation, he went out of his way to rectify the situation. He offered an appointment with a nail tech Lili. She got me in on my appointment time, out in a quickness without jeopardizing her work, and when I mentioned things I liked with my nails she accommodated without argument, defense, or attitude. I appreciate her and the owner for their professionalism and kindness. I will definitely be coming back to see Lily in the future. I have visited this salon about 3 times now. It's clean, and well-maintained. You can tell how well a place is managed by the cleanliness of the bathroom. It's very clean. They are organized and friendly. The last manicure I got was with Nina using dip powder. My request wasn't easy but she pulled it off albeit with a knick or two that she had to use ointment on that weren't comfortable. I expected them to offer a discount to compensate for my cuticles bleeding from the nippers and drill but I had to ask, which I found disappointing. They also tend to charge small fees for things that I believe should be part of the overall service, such as charging me $5 to clean up my cuticles as part of a dip powder manicure? I mean, if the cuticles and dead skin aren't cleaned off the nails, the dip powder will lift so why isn't that included in a dip powder service?? ‍ I also showed a picture to the tech for a nail shape and was told it's a custom shape and would be $5 extra. I declined the custom shape because that seemed excessive. Also disappointing. Either way, Manhattan nails is one of the highest rated nail salons in the South Tampa area so compared to the reviews of other nail spas, this one is one of the best so I'll be returning. read more

This is a good place for a pedicure. They have a ton of chairs and if you go at a random time, likely you won't wait. They use Opi polish. The basic pedicure is $23 plus tip.
