They have an extensive menu of all things BBQ. I opted to go for the Family Feast. I wanted to try everything. Ribs, brisket, chicken and sausage. Food was moist, tender and smokey. Great flavor throughout. I also enjoyed the onion rings and cole slaw. They really complemented the bbq. One of my favorite bbq places hands down.

Your other true alternatives in the province aside from some food trucks are Famous Daves (not nearly as good) or Blue Haze (fine but questionable owners). The restaurant is busy for a reason; the food is that good. My standard order is usually the Bigg Q, though I go Little Q if I'm not that hungry because the portions are huge. Love the pulled pork here, and brisket's always the standard to order. I had the beef link in my most recent visit too, and I liked that as well. I always go with the deluxe mac n cheese for my side as I'm a mac n cheese fanatic. Service is excellent here, I actually left my jacket my last visit and they were so kind to allow one of my coworkers who lives in Steinbach to pick it up and give it back to me in the office. They didn't need to but I really appreciated what they did! Is it the best BBQ ever? I'm sure there are better options outside the province, but this is definitely top tier for Manitoba.

Towards the end of my vacation, I wondered if Steinbach had a Salisbury House. My research showed that the eatery across from the hotel where I was staying at was a Sal's. It's now Chuck's Roadhouse Bar and Grill. A couple of evenings before I was set to fly out of Winnipeg, I returned to the hotel and parked. I then carried my drink caddy and bag into this Chuck's for dinner. There is parking around Chuck's. There are lots between the two businesses. I was greeted by a woman. She let me know that there was a booth and she'd get that wiped down. Cool. While waiting for her to return, another fairly young female staffer looked at the booth and asked if it was a party of four. I looked at her and said that it was me. All because the booth seats four and I'm waiting for it does not equate that I am representing a party of four. Super awkward. Why assume? I got led to my booth. I got a menu. I knew what I wanted. I craved the sirloin and lobster tail. I haven't had it since the pandemic when I ordered takeout from the Chuck's in Whitchurch-Stouffville. Malika was my server. She was attentive and wonderful while I dined here. I ordered the following items: - 7-ounce top sirloin and lobster tail - Diet Coke I substituted the fries for mashed potatoes for an additional $1.99. It was a good move. The Diet Coke was icy cold and fizzy. I loved it. Malika made sure that I had refills throughout my meal. Towards the end of my meal, I took the remaining ice in my final glass of Diet Coke and added it to my strawberry lemonade that I had been sipping earlier. She thought that it was brilliant that I re-chilled my drink. I liked that I didn't let the ice go to waste after I had finished my Diet Coke! My main had arrived. It looked good. Malika asked that I check that my sirloin's doneness was good. It was different. I hadn't taken a photo of my dish. However, it was a pro to make sure that the steak was prepared to my liking. I cut through my sirloin and it was perfect. It's standard procedure here. I don't know if that's a change since I last ordered a sirloin and dined in at Chuck's. Oh, how I have missed this meal! The steak was yummy. I thoroughly enjoyed eating it. The lobster tail was excellent. It was so fresh and perfectly done. I like that all the hard work was done to get the lobster tail meat on to top of the shell. I did pick at the latter to make sure that I got all the meat out. It was so tasty, especially with the clarified butter. I also dunked my sirloin morsels, corn, and mashed potatoes into the clarified butter. The mashed potatoes were so comforting. The skins were left, which I liked. The mashed potatoes were creamy, buttery, and delicious. I love corn. I was expecting it on the cob. This place took the work out of everything! I got corn kernels and they were perfect. My server asked if I wanted dessert. I frankly couldn't fit it in. She got me the bill, which was great. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and tapped. Done! We had a good chat about Steinbach. She said that it's small, but has everything. I completely agree, including this Chuck's. I'd dine here again when I'm in the city. (239)

But I want to warn others that are going to spend thousands for a caterer. My husband and I went to the restaurant and tasted the food before we signed any contract. The food at the restaurant was delicious. We were very pleased and excited. The day of the wedding, Bernie was late arriving with the food. Dinner was to be at 6:30 he showed up at 6:35. He did not bring anyone else to help set up with him. So I had to ask some of my guests to help him carry in food. It took him approximately half an hour to set up with the help of my guests. When it come to the food, the meat was supposed come with sauce, which he did not bring and the meat was dried out, the Mac and cheese was dry macaroni. It was nothing like what was served at the restaurant. He also added on a last minute charge of 600 for gratuity. Which I have no problem paying for service but there were no servers helping guests get food. When something ran out Bernie would have to replace it himself. So when a guest of mine went to cut his own brisket, Bernie yelled at him not to touch it. I talked Bernie after the event and told him that I think I should get my gratuity charge refunded to me. He gave me a cheque for 200 dollars when I went to deposit the cheque the cheque bounced. If your considering a cater please save yourself the stress and don't hire this schmuck.

We're old and just don't eat as much as we used to. The ribs were good, not great. They were a little dry, however, in their favour, they were not slathered with some overpowering barbecue sauce. Fries were good although I can never understand the extra $2.00 charge. Are yams truly that much more costly than potatoes? Cole slaw was fine. I ordered a beer from a very pedestrian menu. My wife wanted iced tea, but Brisk was the only product available. She passed. Very heavy on the sugar. Service was good, although at times, things seemed confused. They may have been short-staffed. Unfortunately, the restaurant had a performer scratching out a few old Johnny Cash tunes. When I go to a restaurant, I go for the food, company and lively conversation. This was nearly impossible as we had to shout at each other to be heard over the music. My recommendation - can the music. It added nothing to the experience. The cost was acceptable. There was value for money. However, the piece de resistance was the banana cream crepe. Absolutely spectacular and worth every cent of the $8.50 price tag. If truth be known, I could have had it for dinner and been satisfied. Delicious If you've not been to the Emporium before, I urge you to give it a try this season.

Great place to go for breakfast. Their crepes are also berry good - both savoury and sweet kinds.read more
