Terrible experience.

+.5 for service Went…read morehere when my relatives visited me recently. I wanted to take them to other Chinese places that aren't the typical well known places (Kum Koon, Sun Fortune, etc), but are still solid. I settled for this place since my mom's friend recommended me this place when I moved here 3 years ago. While they have a lunch buffet here, I was here for dinner. They have combination plates for those unsure of what to pick, but we ordered off the individual listing menu. Their crab meat fish maw soup was a pretty good soup. Not on the take out menu as it's a dine in option only. Free range chicken was decent but lacked meat a bit. We also had a stir fry beef dish that was very good, and a stir fried three-kind seafood dish that was about what I expected. What they lack here are fish options, as all of them were deep fried and not of the fresh variety. Their dessert was a sago soup dish, which is one of my favourites. However theirs came out a bit lukewarm instead of hot. Contrary to most comments here, I found service to be quite good. It's certainly not the top tier of Chinese restaurants I'd say in Winnipeg, but the portions were big and there's excellent value to be had here.

I was very confused before coming to this restaurant because it's hard to find information or photos of the food. Some places said there was a Buffett but there wasn't one when we arrived so we ordered off a menu. We were given a paper menu and a pen and then the employee walked away. We sat there for about ten minutes before anyone came over. We went with two spring rolls (which weren't very good in our opinion. There was a lot of seasoning which made them almost sweet) I wouldn't recommend them. We also went with sesame chicken, it was good but again very sweet. The dish came with rice on the side as well. I would order this again as the chicken was crispy and food. The last thing we ordered was the chicken lomein. This was a huge order! No way you could eat it yourself. While it was good we felt a little confused as the noodles felt more like a chowmein. Unknown if we would order it again. Our total came to $35 for two people without drinks. We collected and packaged our own to go boxes from the side and really didn't have any customer service to write about. I would definitely check out another spot before returning.

I have tried Philippine food at a few spots and I like the cuisine. I ordered BBQ pork skewers, BBQ chicken, pancit canton, and fried lumps gulay. The owner also had us try a light dessert which was very tasty (I can't remember the name). Wow, the food was outstanding! The flavour profiles were all distinct and delicious. My friends who have never tried Philippine cuisine all loved it and were impressed. As well, the small trays had a large amount of food. Very good value for the dollar. The owners were very nice as it is a family business. As none of us knew the meaning of Kapampangan we googled it to discover that Pampanga is a province in the Philippines and is known as the "Culinary Capital of the Philippines". Not surprising with food this delicious. I would highly recommend trying their food as it adds to the rich mosaic of Winnipeg's culinary scene.

Everything was on point. The spring rolls came out so hot and crispy that I nearly burned my tongue. BBQ Pork was savory and sweet and not at all dry - in short it was incredible. The Cantonese fried rice just kept making you want to eat more of it. Our shrimp entree was perfectly cooked. I really couldn't ask for more. Service was a bit slow, but they were also very busy and the food was still making its way fresh out of the kitchen. When the food is this good I can forgive a lot. Give this a go, and I doubt you'd regret it.
