Packaged bacon is "cured", which means that it is prepared with salt and nitrates to inhibit the growth of bacteria. However, uncooked bacon, especially if it has been left open and unthawed for sometime, can still harbour bacteria and cause food poisoning. So no, I do not want someone handling uncooked bacon with the same gloves that they use to handle all the other ingredients. I especially do not want someone arguing with me about this!
