What a gem! Had no idea what to expect when I booked a night here as we were meeting friends for dinner at Peggy's in green and didn't want to drive back to Kerrville after partaking in wine. To say I was pleasantly surprised is understatement! The rooms are huge and decorated perfectly. Bathroom is perfect with tub and shower and just love how they kept charm with history of this hotel.

Actually enjoyed our stay here, but the luxury accommodation bit just wasn't quite there. The hotel and grounds are very nice looking, and main street and major shops are within easy walking distance. There is parking around out front, facing the square, and some other spaces back behind. We were lucky enough to get a space out front. We opted for this hotel from reading other online reviews, and it was a nice, quiet, attractive hotel. One very positive thing, they called letting us know our room was ready early, and we could check in early. The actual stay was just OK, though. The room we stayed in (The Sewing Room), had been redecorated from the online photos. It was a bit disappointing to have a room that didn't match what we thought we were getting. Various things keep me from rating the room higher - strange black debris on the pillows (I'm guessing blew out of the A/C unit over the bed), overhead fan didn't work at all, and when using the bathtub, the handle came off in my wifes hand! Told the front desk about the fan, not much help there. I was looking at the bed (not the one in the room pics online), and the rail was pulled loose where it was just snapped together. TV's cable had been left unplugged, had to play detective to get the TV to work. PRO's: Very nice property, very picturesque, in a very convenient location. Friendly staff on check in. CON's: Little details listed above did not add up to anything but an "OK" stay. Had higher hopes, since we were paying a bit more than the usual chain property.

Lunch at the Kendall Restaurant, delicious!!!

We stayed two nights three days at the Kendall Inn. It was wonderful. The room was so cozy and clean. We had one room with a king size bed and a small entry room with a door that had a pull out bed, which was very comfortable. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. The inn is right off Main Street so very close and walking distance to shops and many restaurants. We ate at the Kendall Restaurant and it was fabulous! The grounds are so pretty and it was so nice to walk the area around the inn. I highly recommend Kendall for your next Boerne trip.

    St John's Suite

I stayed at The Kendall Hotel with a few friends and had such a beautiful and memorable experience. We booked the St John's Suite and it was absolutely perfect. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had so much character. It felt cozy and luxurious at the same time, with just the right mix of historic charm and modern comfort. One of the highlights of our stay was having a game night in the suite. There was plenty of space for all of us to spread out and relax, and the atmosphere made it feel extra special. Everything was clean and thoughtfully arranged, and we felt so at home the entire time. The location is ideal. The property is right in the heart of Boerne, connected to a great restaurant and walking distance from cute shops and other local spots. The grounds are well maintained and every corner of the hotel has its own charm. You can really feel the history of the building, but it has been updated beautifully. What truly made the stay unforgettable was the front desk staff. Every single person we interacted with was kind, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and taken care of. You can tell they take pride in the property and really care about their guests. I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a charming and relaxing getaway in the Hill Country. It exceeded all of my expectations.

The inn and restaurant are incredible! The Staff is very friendly and helpful. Our room was very clean, the grounds are well kept and when it's cold out the staff will light the fire. The courtyard is romantic with the white lights and fire. The food is incredible and the wait staff is very friendly. Cocktails firm the bar are yummy. We will definitely be back.

This is a super cute boutique hotel in the heart of Boerne. Each space was decorated so beautifully for Christmas. I also love that you can have your own little stand alone building behind the main building. This would be a great place for an event and the restaurant that is attached is spacious.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely grounds and great location. The entryway/living-room/lobby was beautifully decorated for the winter holidays. We stayed in the Texas room, which is like the second floor or attic of the schoolhouse. It was comfortable and warm even though the weather outside was cold.

A must hotel to stay in when in the Boerne area!! The wife and I were attending a a friends wedding nearby and they had blocked off a couple rooms here at the Kendall. This beautiful hotel was built in 1859 and has a lot of history. We stayed in the main building in the Victoria room which was a gorgeous room on the second floor in the front of the hotel just above the receptionist desk. There are several outlying buildings that double as rooms like old cabins, an old Church, an old school house and a general store. The room was very comfortable and elegant, the marble bathroom with its accents brought the feel of luxury. The Kendall hotel has definitely done it right with this hotel in keeping it maintained with that old charm. If your ever in the Boerne TX area, staying or eating at the Kendall is a must. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kendall_Inn

My wife and I just stayed at the Kendall in the Erastus Reed Grand Suite and the entire experience was perfection. It's nearly impossible to describe how warm and cozy the bedroom and adjacent bathroom were! Thoughtfully furnished, with just the right decorative touches, there's nothing odd or out of place. It's absolute value all the way around. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable, and the temp in the room was consistent. Water pressure and temp were great, and we LOVED how the ceiling lights were all on dimmers! That's super rare and so great to be able to dial-in the right mood for the moment. Our one criticism? The shower door needs a seal around the edges because a great deal of water leaked onto the floor, but spare towels were on-hand to soak up the excess. Hey, it's a minor thing. The entire complex itself is also amazing. Main floor was, like the room, perfectly appointed with sofas, chairs, and tables. Bravo, Kendall. Can't wait to come back.

The king size room is carpeted with a marble bathroom floor, large shower (no tub), one multi usb port and high ceilings. It would've been nice to have a ceiling fan instead of the odd gold clunky light fixture. We decided to come here for a Monday night getaway which means the rates are probably less, but many businesses in the area are not open on a Monday or Tuesday. Getting a room here requires no face-to-face time, everything is done online where they'll text you a key code for your room door, no key card. Our short stay here was in a good size room with quiet cool AC and a comfy bed with 4 over stuffed pillows. I was disappointed in the fact the room had no mini fridge, just a Keurig (no microwave either). You'll need to bring an ice chest if you want cold drinks, etc.. They do have a hospitality room with a microwave, but our room code did not work to access it We got the Bakery Lorraine (see seperate review) breakfast package thinking it was in the immediate area not a half mile walk away. It was a good breakfast, but I recommend driving there since there's enough parking, otherwise skip this option. When it comes time to check out, you just send a text that you're leaving to the original text. It's as quick as that. Next time, we'll probably make it a Wednesday through Saturday stay when everything is open. You really can't beat the location, which the price of the room reflects. Check out the bill and photos below.

We reserved a full (large) suite, with a king-sized bed in the bedroom and a sofabed in the living room. The suite was HUGE!! We had plenty of room for the three of us (plus two dogs). The best part was the Jack-and-Jill entrance to the bathroom, so that we could access the bath directly from either the bedroom or living room. There was a wet-bar sink area, a microwave, and a small fridge, so we were able to keep snacks and drinks cold and prepare food in the room if needed. The bed was comfortable and our room (at the end of the hall) was very quiet. We could not hear highway traffic at all. The staff is all FIVE-STAR quality!! Special thanks to Avery, Shea, Rose, and Kathleen, who all went over and above in reserving our room and accommodating our needs during our stay. Rose especially went the extra mile--because the elevator was out of service, she nabbed us a room on the second floor (rather than the third floor) near the stairwell, so that it would be easy for us to take the dogs outside without disturbing other guests. And Shea gave us some great recommendations for dining and other local shopping options in town. Avery was very kind in answering multiple questions early one morning, and Kathleen adeptly managed to split our hotel bill three ways so that we could each pay our portion. Many, many thanks to all of them! The free breakfast was always tasty, and included eggs and breakfast meats as well as pastries, breads, yogurt, cereals, fruit, and a waffle maker (and of course coffee and tea!). It was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool, but the water was clear and clean and the seating around the pool was comfortable. The hotel is conveniently located right on the I-10 frontage road, at John's Road, and is only 5 minutes from downtown (historic) Boerne. Shopping at the HEB grocery store is just one exit down the freeway. The only reason to give four stars rather than five has to do with some infrastructure issues. We knew ahead of time about the elevator being out of service (again, thanks to Rose for letting us know) but it was still somewhat inconvenient, especially when loading in and out with our luggage. The wi-fi often dropped out in our room and we had to log in more than once a day on some days. And for the first couple of days of our stay, our room keys would not work in the side door to the staircase (but did work in letting us into our room). We went through three re-keying processes before we were able to continue to use our keys. The sofabed was a little cranky and didn't always fold up well, and my brother said the mattress was a little lumpy (but those mattresses often are). Honestly, though, those were minor issues, and overall we had a MARVELOUS stay! I would gladly return to the Best Western on my next trip to the San Antonio area! Thank you all SO very much for such a great time!!
