My family and I attended a wedding here this past weekend (April 11 - 12). The staff were so accommodating and the event was amazing. The rooms were spacious and clean. THE MOST COMFORTABLE BED IVE EVER SLEPT IN!! This hotel is so cute and is in such a perfect location! The room was slightly outdated despite the renovations and we noticed a leak in the bathroom and some water damage in the walls but it was nothing major and all is forgiven when the a/c unit runs perfectly. We would be back in a heartbeat! The creek is gorgeous with tall trees along it and if you're lucky you'll see some deer grazing or neighborhood cats walking around, it truly made for a magical weekend! read more

I don't think I'll ever stay in a property run by the French Cowboys ever again (and they seem to be gobbling up lots of them in Texas, so that will increasingly limit my options). First off, they make it as difficult as possible to interact with a human being. You can call and talk to someone and ask questions, but after that you can forget it. They will answer you with text messages. Your check-in and check-out information comes via a text message. And the phone "support" is not available 24 hours a day, which I found out when I came back late at night and discovered that the only path to my room was blocked by massive sprinklers drenching the walkway. The only way I could get to my room was by walking through the sprinklers (this was even on a night where there had been massive rain storms, so I'm not even sure why they had to water the grass to begin with). I called multiple times and left text messages, to no avail, and still received no reply, so I just had no choice but to walk through the sprinklers (or, I guess, sleep in my car for the night). It was horrible. They said the next day that they'd give me a $50 credit but I haven't seen a dime. On top of that, the window air conditioners they use are so incredibly loud, it was difficult to get any sleep whatsoever. It's 2025, and you can find quiet air conditioners (I know because I've had them). They just cost a little more. If I wanted a noisy, wet, self-service experience, I'd go camping. read more

We recently booked an anniversary get away with the Meyer Inn. We loved all the wonderful pictures of the rooms they show available. We chose what was supposed to be an amazing room. Open, fresh and tasteful updates. Enclosed patio area we could enjoy with our pets. We paid the premium price (and were ultimately double charged for our stay). Upon arrival there was no on site staff. We went to our assigned room. It was nothing like the photos on the website. Dark, dank, musty and dusty. It had no patio enclosed or otherwise. The microwave on the bathroom counter next to the bathroom sink looked like a disaster waiting to happen. The room had a very aged questionably clean jacuzzi tub, not the claw foot tub as shown in the photo of the room we chose. In numerous awkward conversations with the offsite staff over the phone. We were given several reasons for the oversight. First they asked for photos of the room we booked, then they said we were given a "similar " same class room, then we were told that our booked room was occupied, then told no other room was available (however there was only 1 other guest we saw in the 2 1/2 hour long ordeal as we played phone tag with the offsite staff. Finally after all options were exhausted, we requested a refund. The offsite staff called back and said management had approved the refund. We left without ever staying at the Meyer Inn and now are being denied our refund. We are out over $500 for a 2 night stay. Looking back at other reviews it appears they use this bait and switch business model. Save your $$$$ and peace of mind. Stay elsewhere. read more

We LOVED our 6 night stay at Meyer Inn!! We stayed in Cypress Creekview room 351. It was comfortable, clean, private, with a lovely screened porch (great view of the creek). Plus, we were treated to daily maid service (which we haven't seen since covid). The grounds include several swings and lawn chairs. The owners have a deer feeder on the far side of Cypress Creek. We loved watching the deer in the morning and again at dusk! We wish they offered breakfast but there are several restaurants and shops within an easy walk. read more

There are major plumbing issues, toilets do not flush properly, shower does not drain. 15 minutes after a shower, last water to drain. Beds are poor, any movement from your spouse will disturb your sleep. The lights out side are on all night with no way to block them. The blinds that are on the windows and doors allowed you to see into the room. No block out curtains. Our room was not cleaned properly. There is no breakfast offered and the bar is not open. Only staff is the cleaning lady. Several guest showed up and required assistance, no one around. The second weekend that we stayed, there were 7 couples, everyone had similar issues. read more

From the moment we arrived, we found ourselves begin to decompress. Road weary from five days of traveling, three different hotels, we found the Meyer Hotel to be exactly what we needed. We didn't even unpack before my husband and I sat on the deck with a couple of cold drinks while our son went down to explore the creek. This is a delightful property - beautifully restored historic buildings, phenomenal outside space, comfortable beds and great amenities. We were able to walk to dinner (Comfort Pizza- fabulous!). Various room layouts to choose from, it was nice to have an option with a separate room for our son. Staff were friendly and responsive to texts. We can't wait to come back! read more

DON'T expect them to cater to special dietary needs. My husband called ahead when booking our reservation & told them that I am gluten-free and have a severe intolerance for tomatoes. There was literally one thing I could eat on the buffet -- fruit. No one greeted us for breakfast when we entered the "Gast House," a building with five rooms downstairs. We wandered back to find the buffet. No one offered a drink, so, after sitting for 10 minutes, my husband found coffee in another room. When a woman came to check the buffet, we told her we had called ahead, and I asked for 3 eggs over medium and gluten-free toast. It took a while to get Two eggs, not Three, and the cold toast came out 15 minutes later. I read recently that 10% of Americans are now experiencing gluten intolerance. If this B&B doesn't want to serve that market, they should inform customers upfront. read more

What a great find! The Meyer Inn on Cypress Creek is charming, especially due to the incredible beauty found just behind it. Cypress Creek has gorgeous large trees growing along the edge, with deer often in sight. When booking at Meyer Inn, I recommend DEFINITELY going with one of the rooms that says "creekside views" from your private or public porch (the screened in private porch would be especially nice, I imagine!). While you're there in Comfort, check out the Food for the Soul Bistro, Just Chillin in Comfort Wine Bar, and the 8th Street Market (Comfort Coffee located inside, too!). When you stroll through 8th Street Market, make sure to head out back as well and check out their "backyard." read more

My husband and I were looking to do some riding around the Texas Hill country and when looking for a convenient place to stay we came upon this place in our internet search. I'm sorry to see some people did not have a positive stay. We absolutely LOVED it! We didn't care about the breakfast as there is a place nearby , Mannys, to get that. Our room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Guest Haus which was separated into 4 units, two upstairs, two downstairs. Our room had a bedroom and separate sitting room with a fireplace. Both rooms had access to the outside Patio which was a big plus. It was so relaxing to sit outside in the morning watching the deer across the creek. We will definitely be back! read more

This place is amazing!! We Came during COVID so there was no breakfast but that was ok for us. The little town is dreamy. The campus is beautiful and sits overlooking the river. The service is impeccable and friendly. We came with five women and two toddlers for a girls trip and it was the perfect get away! Nora is the best! Not wanting to shell out serious cash but wanting to stay somewhere nice (& safe) for a girls weekend, my friend who lives in Kerrville suggested this place. Meyer B & B is located in Comfort which is drivable to all the places we wanted to visit. While they don't have the most warm & fuzzy staff, the grounds are absolutely stunning & the room was really cute with a very comfortable bed. The electric potbelly stove in the corner kept the room nice & warm (we were there in February). There are several walkable places to get a meal or drink. Comfort is a cute little (very quiet) town. I slept like a log it was so peaceful. The breakfast was awesome. Go early to snag a seat in the room that looks over Cypress Creek. You may even see some deer running around while you enjoy the very tasty offerings on the buffet. The staff kept checking the buffet to ensure everything was fresh & hot. OK selection of fruit but the hot stuff......yum! The sausage & egg casserole was very delicious & of course I could not ignore the biscuits & gravy. The biscuits were airy & the gravy had a really good consistency to it w/a peppery finish. And yeah, the bread pudding is an awesome "breakfast dessert". I just loved the crispy edges, cinnamon & bourbon sauce! Nice selection of teas & juices, excellent coffee. So if you are looking for a place off the beaten path, look no further than Meyer's. read more

We booked a stay at the Meyers Inn Bed & Breakfast for three nights March 18-20 expecting a nice stay in alignment with the 5 star reviews we had read. Additionally, we have friends who also recommended the Meyers Inn and we thought we were in for a wonderful stay by alas our time was shortened and although memorable, not in the way we care to remember. First, the website states that Breakfast is back, but it will cost you an additional charge. That seems to me to fly in the face of what a bed & breakfast is all about. Every B&B I have stayed at, breakfast was "included", not at an additional cost. If you upcharge for breakfast it is called "room" in a hotel, motel, inn, etc. We arrived at the "Inn" later afternoon and found our room with no problem, but the room had a "peculiar smell" that both my wife and I detected immediately. After a while I started to get a headache as did my wife. The carpet was extremely dirty with what looked like oil spots all over it as well. Going outside the smell was gone as was the headache. So, finally, about 9 PM we contacted the "on call" and after she arrived, we were offered another room "just for that night" as they were sold out. The bad news was the new room, although smell free had a very slow sink that would not drain but being exhausted, we got some much-needed sleep. The next morning, I contacted the housekeeper, showed her the sink and she agreed to have it fixed. Additionally, the manager was able to work out to have us stay in this same room for the duration of our trip. We returned later that afternoon, saw the room was refreshed, but the sink, it still was slow and backing up. The room itself, however was not very clean. The carpets had some residue that stuck to our socks and just was not what I would have expected as far as clean. That night our next-door neighbor, was up most of the night coughing and getting sick, it was at that point we elected to bail out in the AM and not stay the last night. In working with the manager with our first room issue, she reminded me of the cancellation policy as follows: In the unlikely event that you must cancel with less than 14 days notice, shorten your stay, check out early, or do not show for your stay, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation regardless of the circumstances. If we can rebook your room(s), a full or partial refund may be made at our discretion. Reminded of this policy and knowing there was no other rooms available, we elected to leave on our own forfeiting the last night. We do appreciate the Manager moving us from our first room, but the "cleanliness" and sink issues along with the sick neighbor made our stay memorable, but not in a favorable way. Add in the "upcharge" for a breakfast that should have been included, I would not recommend staying at the Meyers Inn. read more

This was our 4th year coming to the Meyer, and we booked next summer when we checked out. While by now we've seen all that one could possibly want to see in Comfort, the town is a good jumping off point for the rest of the Hill Country. Still, there are some restaurants and a really great bar within walking distance of the Meyer that you should check out before you get back in your car and head to the next town.. There's a small hot tub on the premises and a swimming pool. There are a few grills if you want to bring some food (just bring utensils to match). Overall, it's a quiet place to stay and recharge. The swings and hammocks spaced all over the property are just perfect. read more

What a neat place in Comfort! When we first drive up we were worried the rooms were too close together, but we stayed in the Garden Haus on the West side of the property, and had a private patio and once you go behind the houses the beautiful open space opens up down to the river. The suite was beautiful, rock walls, spa tub and separate shower, very private and serene and a short walk to delicious restaurants only a block away, like Highs Cafe and 814-A Bistro, and pizza just across the street w a beautiful patio! Also amazing unique shopping. A few negatives, the bed was rock hard, my Mom was up most of the night as was I, finding it hard to get comfortable. It would also be nice if they had some extra blankets for lounging on the sofa and if the flower beds were better kept, but it may just be a little early in the season. Overall, a special place. Our suite was cosy, had a rustic feel to it and bed was extremely comfortable. Room also included cable tv, microwave and fridge. Breakfast is available for guests and includes cooked food as well as fruit, cereal, yogurts etc. Very good quality. Staff extremely helpful, friendly and made us feel very welcome. Went to Comfort to attend a wedding held at an event venue close by. I arrived at the Inn early afternoon to find no one in the office to help me find my room. It was difficult to walk around the premises in high heels on crushed white rock as no sidewalks! Had someone been in the office, it would have saved me aggravation, sweating out my attire and white dust on my shoes as I came fully dressed. The door to the room didn't have a chain lock which I felt uneasy about security, a single women alone. Finally, Sunday morning no "breakfast" buffet, a box was handed out, available between 8:30-9:30am which I didn't get. For $185/night, I shouldn't have to pay an additional $11 for boxed eats after 9:30! I've never stayed at a B&B, I won't be back and won't recommend. read more

Great weekend getaway. The Meyer B&B was a great place to relax. It's on Cypress Creek and the views are awesome. The rooms are spread throughout the property in various buildings. There's lots of outdoor space too. Along the creek you'll find lawn chairs and picnic tables. Outside the rooms you can find hammocks and screen porchs. I stayed in room 902, the Linder. It was very spacious - probably too large for one person but it was the last room avaliable. I had a livingroom, vanity area, bedroom and indoor jacuzzi. Everything was clean and working. The decor is antique and a little country. Behind the room was a covered porch with hammocks, a grill, patio seating and a great view of the creek. I recommend this room. All rooms have a/c, TV and free wireless internet. There's a shared phone (free) in the Gast Haus. There are conveniently located soda machines and an ice machine. Breakfast is served buffett style each morning from 8 - 9:30. It's awesome. You could find: fruit, cereal, waffles, french toast, biscuits & gravey, bread pudding and lots of other great things. The seating for breakfast is inside & outside. The outdoor patio even has some great corners with single seating for the loners. I had a great experience at this B&B. read more

after a day of exploring the Hill Country, this B&B is an excellent place to end up. We stayed in the Stage Stop. It's a comfy, quaint room above the establishment's office, with wood walls/ceilings and a king bed. There was a fridge, futon, table and chairs, a pretty cool-looking sink, cable TV and wifi. The AC kept the place freezing (which was nice) while we were warm under the quilt and comforter. The grounds are very nice. They have a hammock, porch swings hanging from the cypress trees, and rocking chairs spread about the area. Cypress Creek was a nice place to hang out next to. Breakfast was pleasant. I guess they rotate on what they serve, but we had fresh fruit, pastries, belgian waffles with toppings, egg casserole with bacon and mushrooms, and very delicious bread pudding. (I just wish we were there on the day they serve biscuits with sausage gravy!!) Also wanted to add that we had reserved for an earlier date. However I got the flu the day we were supposed to go. I called that day to cancel and the owner was nice enough to send us a gift certificate in the amount I had paid for the room and gave us about a month and a half in which to use it. My boyfriend and I stayed here for our one year anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for. It was so quiet and peaceful. We had our own cottage that overlooked the creek and we could watch deer feeding on the other side of the bank. Since it was January and pretty cold, we couldn't use the great screened-in porch. Super cute claw-foot tub, huge bed, and beautiful vintage decor. The breakfast was absolutely incredible! We had french toast, eggs, biscuits, bread pudding (great touch and delish), and more. Everyone who worked there so friendly and helpful; they made you feel like family. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was overpriced, but I would definitely recommend Meyer. read more

Stayed here based on the multitude of rave on-line reviews and was disappointed in the particular cottage we booked, Creekside Cottage. It has obvious maintenance issues* and was dark and musty. Benedryl was a must for me. The decor is thrift store granny. Liked the antiques, just not the rest. We ran the A/C on high the whole time and never really cooled down.The bed was very comfortable. I liked the ivy growing through the window, just not the fake dusty plants everywhere! In looking at some of the other rooms, they seem much better. I wish I could rate the natural surroundings separate because it deserves five stars. Cypress Creek is lovely. There's a pecan grove, fields, plenty of deer, raccoons, ducks, birds aplenty including hummingbirds, two different species of firefly. Amazing, right? I felt immersed in nature and then could walk five minutes to coffee or a sandwich at High's. The room's bed is situated such that pulling up the window's blind makes you feel like you're sleeping in tree branches with fireflies glowing and the moon shining in. The screened porch is a treat. More good - natural beauty, breakfast was yummy, no dogs, quiet And bad - too many noisy and unsupervised children bent on destroying that natural beauty, our room was overpriced for what it is *Three pressing issues of the many - the sink faucet sprays all over the counter if you turn it up more than a trickle. The aerator needs to be cleaned or replaced. The tub faucet does not shut all the way off in shower mode, so the tub fills up while taking a shower. The ancient shower curtain covered in paper clips (?!) does not do the job and water ends up all over the floor. It's an old house. I get that, but these are issues that staff should have noticed and are not hard or expensive to fix. read more

We escaped from Austin one week and spent the night at Meyer's. Lovely grounds in the middle of quaint and old fashioned free thinking Comfort. Great beds, hot water and just the peace and quiet of the Texas Hill Country. The owner is friendly but gives you lots of space. Breakfast in the morning was really good (although it leaned on the sweet side rather than savory) Still plenty of coffee and we sat and watched the deer feeding at the feeder. Meyer's was great for our girl's weekend! The place was beautiful and it felt very homey. The place had so many places to sit outside and enjoy the view. There were bench swings and patios tables everywhere. There are also grills where you can barbecue. The rooms were very quaint. The owners and everyone who stayed there were really nice. Good tubing is only about 20 minutes away in Bandera. I definitely recommend it for anyone. read more

Our overnight visit at the Meyer Bed and Breakfast was NOT a good experience. I will begin with the positive, because it is a short list. 1. Pretty view of the creek from our room. 2. Nice check-in and dining room staff. Now for the bad-- 1. Room 809 Mercantile was very musty and I began sneezing immediately upon entering it. You can't open the window so we left the door opened to attempt to air it out. 2. The bedspread and shams are old and need to be replaced. 3. The mattress was horrible and we had to sleep on the edges to have any type of support; we both woke-up with sore backs-- needs to be replaced. 4. The shower nozzle and knobs were loose from the wall. 5. The water is very hard and it was hard to rinse soap and shampoo off. 6. The toiletries were missing the mark, one little shampoo and body wash. There was no creme rinse or body lotion. 7. Don't use the coffee maker, not clean and the powder creamer must have been old; when added to the coffee it looked like maggots. 8. The towels were very rough. 9. The brunch was fair, don't eat the eggs-- not sure of the ingredients, good biscuits. 10. The property grounds were not maintained. For basically a $150. we were expecting more. We stayed in the new creekside cottage (151). Room was spacious, well appointed and had a screened porch with excellent view of the deer feeder. We saw many deer, the feeder goes off around 8 am. Setting is lovely, easy walking distance to Plaid Goat and High Street Bakery/Store. Staff is friendly, and the place has a good sized pool. You can spent your day happily relaxing in the creekside grounds. Room for improvement: towels appeared well washed and the airco was noisy. Minor details, overall an excellent place and we would go back! read more

Staying just for two nights. The cabins are decorated with antique furniture. The one we were in had a Claw foot tub and shower. Beautiful view from the screened in porch overlooking the Cypress Creek. Across the creek on the bank was a deer feeder and Every morning when the dinner bell rings the deer and turkey come running. You can sit on your back porch or under the gazebo by the dining room and just enjoy nature. One block from the Comfort antique district. Great place to come. My wife and I stayed here while mountain biking at Flat Rock Ranch. The rooms are big, we were able to bring our bikes in and still had plenty of space. The creek runs right behind the rooms. I went for a nice walk along the creek and enjoyed the view. The deer came out every morning which added to the country feel. The breakfast was diverse and well organized. The buffet consisted of an egg item, meat item, fruit, yogurt, cereal, waffles, and a desert cake. My wife and I enjoyed the breakfast all three mornings we were there. The wifi was spotty at the far ends of the complex, but did work. My only warning would be that Comfort shuts down on Tuesday. This was not much of a problem since I was mountain biking during the day, but I wanted to try the famous Comfort Pizza for dinner. Comfort Pizza is easy walking distance from the rooms, but they are closed on Tuesdays. read more

Meyer's Bed and Breakfast is sure to delight even the toughest visitor. The first night our muscles were stiff from driving from Lawrence, KS so we enjoyed the ensuite whirlpool. Our ground-floor suite featured two rooms, a fireplace, two doors that led out to the patio, and a view that overlooks beautiful Cypress Creek. Beyond is an enchanting field with many deer. We saw young deer wrestling and baby and momma deer lounging in the grasses. The golden sunlight filters through the trees to make for an enchanting view. The breakfasts were homemade, delicious, and different each day. We accidentally left our pillows but the super-nice staff mailed them back without over-charging. Great place.
