5 minutes after booking, I called back when I realized this is NOT in San Antonio as the name states. The manager on duty said she could not refund me because she didn't have authority, but would let the management know the next day and "take care of it" for me. So we booked another room that was in San Antonio for the night. The next day, I got an email saying they would not refund me. So I wasted $200+ on a room we didn't stay in. If the person on the phone would not have said she would take care of it, then we would have drove out there and stayed instead of loosing money! I am disappointed. It's the worst Fairfield I've ever been to. First off, the Wi-Fi didn't work. I'm a business traveler. The sort of problem is very rare. The woman behind the desk said she knew no problems with it, had no advice, but suggested I go to a Starbucks. The room smelled musty. I'm allergic to dogs. I asked for a pet free room. The girl behind the counter said that the second floor is pet free. However, there was a dog in a room down the hall barking on and off for hours. I'm not feeling well and I believe there was a dog in my room recently. Allergy suffers beware! I was staying here because I had a morning meeting at the Best Western not too far away and I had to prepare, using Wi-Fi, that did not work in this hotel. Figured the Fairfield Inn was nicer, and I am biased because I am a Marriott gold. Probably wasn't. If I knew about all this, I would've tried the Best Western. That's my plan when I return to town. read more

This was probably one of the worse stays at any hotel I have ever had due to the room. I have nothing bad to say about the staff. However, if you just want a place to sleep and don't care about cleanliness then this place is fine. We had ants in the bathroom in the floor and on the walls. Smudge on the walls, paint peeling on ceilings. I honestly didn't want to walk around bare foot so I didn't. I should have checked the Yelp reviews prior to booking for one night. It seems to be a fairly normal complaint here. This wasn't the most premium costing hotel but it also wasn't the cheapest. I figured I stayed at a bunch of Marriotts and they have always been at a basic level clean. This place is actually pretty disgusting. read more

I am a LONGTIME Marriott Platinum Rewards member, and I have to say this was one of the worst rooms I have ever stayed in...anywhere...ever. The hotel appears fine (though the complimentary breakfast bar countertop was pretty filthy, and I stopped by to grab something as soon as it opened so there is no excuse for not being clean right from the start), but the room was absolutely terrible. It was so damp and had a horrible mildew/mold smell. In fact, it was so damp that the soap was slimy when you pulled them out of its packaging. The air conditioning came from a wall unit which didn't work well, which probably explains the smell and dampness. It definitely didn't get this way overnight, so either housekeeping hasn't brought it to anyone's attention, or they have and management doesn't care, either of which indicates a lack of concern by the organization, which makes you wonder what else is wrong (e.g. food). read more

Staff is awesome, very friendly. The rooms are small, the beds are so hard it's like sleeping on the floor. In fact, both beds in our room have a hump in the middle. But extremely uncomfortable. Breakfast is good, pool looks nice but didn't get in, even has a gym. Tv had lots of channels. Food truck was good. But these beds......I can't sleep. My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Boerne, TX. Unbeknownst to us, upon our checkout my wife accidentally left her wedding bands on the counter of the room. We were not made aware of the missing rings until Ms. Hilary contacted us of the matter, by then we were home already (home is approximately 5 hrs away). Hilary informed me that a Fairfield associate by the name of Amanda brought it to her attention and turned in the rings. Ms. Hilary also took it upon herself to contact us regarding the situation and remediate the situation by mailing the rings to our home (which we received already)....AWESOME!!!! Thank you for your integrity Amanda and Ms. Hilary, and a BIG THANK YOU to all the staff at the Fairfield Inn for making our stay extremely comfortable. Just stayed here on Christmas weekend dec 24th to be exact. Very friendly staff and very helpful even early on Christmas morning for the continental breakfast. They even allowed an early check-in, all I had to do was call when I was an hour away to confirm so they could see if my room was ready and it was. What a great option instead of waiting until 3pm I was able to check-in at noon. My wife and I were visiting our daughter for Christmas and needed a hotel room for the night. We made our reservation on Monday on short notice and they had rooms available!! This place was built I think in 2008, well maintained, looks brand new, our room was very nice with double queen beds. Everything worked perfect in our room including the 40" flat screen tv. I would recommend this place to anyone staying in Boerne, TX or surrounding area. We will stay here whenever we visit our daughter. We had a great experience here. read more

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (the staff could give lessons to some of the other hotels actually - they were wonderful!); and, the hotel was clean and welcoming (although there was a little construction going on in the lobby). They do provide a free breakfast as well. Our room was a King suite, and had a nice sitting area with its own tv. The free wifi worked perfectly as did the 2 televisions. The room included a small frig & microwave. The only negative would be the bed - We both prefer a soft one, but here the mattress is extremely firm. read more

Stay anywhere else. Made a reservation here using points. Through some unfortunate travel circumstances was not able to make it to the hotel for the stay. Since I did not call them to tell them at 11:30pm on the night of the reservation, they charged my card for the rack rate. I reached out to them and the corporate office but was told they were booked solid that night because of spring break so they could not simply honor the reservation the way it was made (with points). We had to check in late on Saturday night, due to our AC not working. We got 2 rooms. One room stunk like cigarettes the other was fine. The lady a the front desk was so kind. We travel a lot. Meaning we were in Dallas 3 at the first of the week in a wonderful hotel. This one was disappointing to say the least. The room felt like it was decorated in the 70's and I don't mean retro. You could see where the pictures were bolted in the wall through the frames. It doesn't look like Marriott has a clue what's going on in Boerne. It was truly the cheapest fixtures ever. As Titanium members, we have stayed at numerous Marriotts around the world. Fairfield Inn in Boerne is by far the worst Marriott we have ever stayed in. It's an old hotel with a thin layer of lipstick. Nice hallways, but the rooms are horrible with old, mismatched, scrapped wooden furniture; stains on the upholstery, peeling cracked paint over the bed and ceiling, and overall the property felt dirty. We tried to switch to a Marriott that was cleaner, but the manager wouldn't refund our money. If you're looking for an upscale homeless shelter, this is your hotel; if you're looking for a Marriott property closest to Kerrville, then try the Fairfield Inn Fredericksburg or SpringHill Suites San Antonio. We have stayed at both; they are very clean and safe. read more

Travel to different hotels weekly and this is one of my favorites. Standard Fairfield Inn which gives breakfast with all rooms, nice rooms and bathrooms and a suitable gym with dumbbells, bench, 2 treadmills and a exercise bike. What sets this one apart is the culture of the employees. I've been to this location a couple of times and have had some of the best service out of any hotel I've stayed at, regardless of price. They were so accommodating, we had ajoining rooms, the best ADA accessible room I have ever seen. Breakfast! Omgoodness, I have two vegans in family, we were so happy to find vegan options. Started off great being a housekeeper a few months ago, pay wage was decent even though we don't get very many hours daily, so it doesn't add up to 40 hours, but I overall enjoyed working there at first. When flaky front desk manager came back things started to fall apart. She stays at the front desk gossiping about other employees/employee-related problems as guests regularly walk by. They tolerate workplace bullying, picking on certain staff but show favoritism to a couple of others who are not doing their jobs well. They let them get away with things they don't let other employees get away with. They purposely push you to the point of exhaustion, and also to the point you're not doing your job correctly so they have a reason not to give a raise. I quickly figured out that they also rush us housekeepers to get done quickly and get off the clock so they don't have to pay us much. Too many chiefs there but not enough Indians unfortunately is the case. When management is in the wrong/get called out by employees who stand up for themselves they find ways to get rid of us instead of taking ownership in poor management. They allow some of their favorite staff to purposely sabotage other people's jobs when they feel threatened job-wise or if they just don't like you. They make housekeepers use faulty equipment such as vacuum cleaners that are safety hazards to the workers. Workers have gotten hurt at this location and there is no incident report to fill out, workplace accidents and injuries get "swept under the rug" and the employees who get hurt because they're using faulty equipment or being pushed to work so fast that they get injured are blamed for it so management can cover themselves of any wrongdoing. They lie to employees that they are entitled to a short break to quickly eat or take a bathroom break, etc, they say it out loud and also put it on paper, but we're expected not to take breaks because we get behind, and they have to push us even more to hurry up. When guests have noticed/brought their concerns about the housekeepers well-being to the front desk, again the housekeepers get "thrown under the bus" by management claiming that the housekeepers are "never rushed, they do it to themselves". It is now under new ownership and the owner doesn't like the pay scale for some of us more experienced housekeepers who make a little more, so the front desk manager bullies those employees to the point we just quit or tries to find fault so they have a reason to write us up/fire us, turn around and hire new people at a lower pay rate. They run off good people who work hard and keep those who are brown nosers, even though they're not doing that great of a job that management claims they do. One particular housekeeper who "never" does wrong, gets away with things other housekeepers do not, she's also a bully and they allow it. She doesn't want anyone to "outshine" her, but she's been rude to guests and employees. They also give her more hours than the rest, then deny it when questioned about it. She's always on her phone, but again other housekeepers are expected to stay off theirs. I would never recommend anyone to work here. They are unprofessional, again they throw some staff under the bus, covers their rear ends when good staff get hurt or walk off the job. They allow guests to trash rooms, managers are too busy gossiping about staff and not going out to get involved/inspect rooms that their staff have to clean. They have no clue how bad some of the rooms are, even when reported they don't charge the guests nor give us a little extra time to clean. You can't win with management, no matter how hard you work, if you stand up for yourself/call them out on their neverending inconsistencies, they find a way to get rid of you, especially when they realize you aren't as dumb as they think you look. Many good hard-working employees have quit or have been fired because of poor inconsistent management along with one or two "favorites" who bully other employees. Save yourself some grief and avoid being purposely stressed out--go work elsewhere. read more

We have friends in Boerne, and I'm a Marriott Rewards member, so the Fairfield was our only choice in the area if I wanted to be a point-grubber. I was OK with that. Usually, Fairfields are nothing special... they are the "value" choice for Marriott's chain, and provide clean rooms and friendly service. The one in Boerne, however, took it to another level. I read that the hotel was built in 2008, which was a surprise. I would've though it had just opened that weekend, as it was so clean and well-maintained. Even the pool looked like it had just had its cover off for the first time. The desk staff was (by far) the friendliest I've ever encountered. When we left, I made sure to mention to them how much I enjoyed our stay. We will certainly be back the next time we put together another Hill Country weekend! read more

We decided to stay a few miles from San Antonio and found this place. This place is new and has all the little things that is making our stay comfortable. The shower water pressure is good, the room is clean, the staff is friendly, and plenty of parking for our demo trailer. We will stay here again the next time we are in the area. read more

We stayed one night in August, 2015. In past stays we've rated this property as 5 stars, but we're seeing degradation in the physical plant and housekeeping. The HVAC central control thermostat did not work. Night stand table top surfaces had water stains. The shower had a huge leak at the shower head connection. The toilet seat was loose leading to pinching if one moved while seated. The towels and wash clothes are thread bare. We'll search for an alternate hotel for our return trip. read more
