We interviewed Lisa and were immediately impressed at the caliber of venues where she had worked and the fact that she had done an event at our reception venue. Lisa was very professional and prompt! She handled everything flawlessly allowing us to worry less about the minor details and focus on other things. Lisa's timeline was very detailed and precise to the minute! She picked up and held our day of items (toasting flutes, cake cutting set, unity sand and glasses), she delivered (and redelivered) welcome baskets, ran the wedding reception very well and allowed us as much control as we wanted, she even mailed in our marriage license for us! She's awesome! But here are two amazing things we didn't expect: 1) At the last moment, due to an oversight prior to hiring Lisa, we needed an extra table linen for our head table. In fact, we needed a satin tiffany blue head table linen late on the day before our wedding--we panicked! But Lisa came to our rescue! She called her connections and arranged for the table linen to be delivered on the next day in time for our wedding! 2) We had an issue with our hotel charging us for an extra night, because our family checked out a day early. Lisa handled this matter, chasing down and following up with the hotel until they resolved the issue, giving us a refund for the unused night! Our guests have told us that they were blown away and were thankful to have attended such a glamorous, fun and memorable event. Now all of this couldn't of been possible without Kelsey and her team at Kelsey Events. From our first encounter with her, we knew she had the confidence and drive to help us with our big day, so we hired her! She carefully helped us out months before our wedding with the planning and process. We had the chance to meet a couple of times in person before the wedding and were always able to contact her through email, phone and text. It was awesome to know when deadlines should be met to develop a timeline especially for a 300-350 guest list. As the big day grew closer, Kelsey was there during the vendor walk-thru at the reception site as a sort of ring leader to move us through the process and get everything coordinated. She also helped us out with all of the legalities and contracts that had to be completed by each vendor as well as ourselves. Kelsey even showed up at our wedding rehearsal where she didn't need to be but it was assuring for us that she wanted to know the whole scope of the big day - kudos to her! She has a thorough and detailed work ethic which enables her to be on point while keeping the bride and groom cool, calm and collected - after all, we're virgins in this realm while she's a seasoned vet! BIG DAY! So when the big day finally came, Kelsey and her team were able to pick up items from us for the reception site at the butt crack 'o' dawn so they could expedite the set up process. She had all of the vendors contact information to make sure that they arrived in a timely manner to do what they were hired to do while making sure the bridal party was getting ready in time for photography. Kelsey also made sure the bridal party was on time and coherent with the game plan - that meant we couldn't get drunk which was a good thing! We already wanted to party but she made sure the business of love got handled first. After the wedding ceremony, we were blown away at the look and feel of our wedding reception - all of that planning and hard work were present and it was nice to see that pie fully baked! Kelsey made sure the next series of events were on time like: introductions, first dance, speeches, cake cutting, video, etc. When guests were trying to figure out where to place the present/card if they had one for us, Kelsey not only took care of that but also made sure that when the mail box/gift area of cards were full, she emptied it out and put those gifts in a safe place making sure we would receive those at the end of the evening - one of those unexpected things you don't think about and it's a good thing too! In the wee hours of the morning, once the guests vacated the venue, Kelsey helped us clear the venue of all our personable valuables and then the night was finally over. Some people say that your wedding day goes by so fast, for us it was a longgggggg day! Ultimately Kelsey is a consummate professional and we'd recommend her ten-fold especially at The Vibiana where we held our wedding reception. She was extremely communicative, helpful, honest, and proactive - and helped make our vision a reality. We planned our whole wedding, but also work several jobs and live out of state. So at times, it was challenging to stick to our timeline and keep track of all the moving pieces. Here are the qualities we experienced with Lauren, and I'm confident you'd get the same: PROACTIVE: We shared our planning document with Lauren early on, and she was so great about jumping in and providing recommendations, asking questions we hadn't thought of, and reminding us to do things before it was too late. We had a list of "items we need" and Lauren went so far as to lend us some things she had, search Craigslist/Offer Up/ Etsy to make suggestions, and even went out of her way to pick up some decor for us from a vendor in CA since we were out of state. HELPFUL: Lauren helped us navigate how to get our marriage license and sent us a very detailed email with all the specifics. These little things REALLY add up when you're running 100 miles per hour with your job, planning, family stuff, etc. COMMUNICATIVE: Lauren took the initiative to reach out to all of our other vendors to check in with them, answer questions, provide information and make sure they had what they needed. Towards the end, she also took over communication with our venue on our behalf, which was a weight off my shoulders because they kept forgetting things I had told them! It was nice to have her as the middle-woman. By the time we actually got to the wedding, Lauren was so familiar with our vision and plan that everything was flawless!! ACTION-ORIENTED: I had intended to be much more involved on the day with helping get set up - but I didn't get a single thing done on my to-do list because everyone was talking to us / asking how to help / etc etc - it was so overwhelming but I knew that I could comfortably go upstairs to get ready with the girls and Lauren would have it handled. By the time we walked out for the ceremony, everything was STUNNING. Lauren helped set up the table decor, all the signage, the florals, etc. I had so many family and guests say what a hard worker her and her husband (who showed up to give an extra set of hands) are. I have to admit, I really had to convince my husband (and other family members involved in the wedding) that we even needed a coordinator and to make space for it in the budget. Given that we were planning it all and had so much help, it was difficult to convince some people. We were hesitant at first since every other vendor was a friend or acquaintance and we weren't sure we needed a coordinator. And for all the people who were skeptical about hiring a coordinator, they all understood what a necessary role they plays when they saw Lauren and her husband in action. For anyone in a similar situation: DON'T SKIP OUT ON IT. Having someone that is not directly involved with your guests is essential in getting stuff done. From the planning to having someone give a non-biased perspective, to all the help setting up, breaking down, and making sure guests knew where to go and what to do - the day wouldn't have been the same without Fancy Fern Events. She will allow you to sit back and enjoy your special day with all our closest friends and family, without worrying about a thing!
