My story: I'm 30 years old. For 8 years, i had been battling chronic constant pain in my neck+ back+ right arm from a 2014 car accident. I could not lift more than 5lbs due to sharp pain in my hands and/or back. I also had limited range of motion in my right arm and back. For years, I had been in an out of doctors offices; some telling me the pain was permanent, but I refused to accept that, and I was trying anything and everything I could afford, but none of it got rid of the constant pain. After 8 years of that, I told myself one more push. If it wasn't significantly better by the time I turned 30 (so 6 more months) I would give up. For this final push I went to The Joint. I started in January 2022, twice a week as directed, and as of July 2022 I'm PAIN FREE for the first time in 8 years! Thanks to them, I can finally get back to living my life. I mostly saw Dr. Wolverton. He was friendly, clear in communication, reassuring when I was doubting, and gave me additional stretches and exercises when I asked for them. Wasn't crazy about the service to begin with. After quitting with them (back in March) I find out they have continued to charge my HSA card $89 a month and refuse to refund. This review is for Dr Gagandeep Bal. I would never visit him again for chiropractic work. When he was working on my back, he had his pelvis against the side of my body and would keep rocking into me when he would work on my spine, and THEN gave an extra pelvis thrust at the end. He did this probably 10 times. I was disgusted. I've seen many chiropractors in my life and none of them thrust their pelvis at me. Additionally, he was extremely rough with his adjustments. I've never had a chiropractor yank that hard and was concerned about aortic dissection. read more

I honestly wouldn't bother to leave a review but I wouldn't want anyone being charged monthly still if you cancelled your account 2 months ago. I'm upset when it comes to the front desk ladies because they seem to never be on the same page. In March our 2 months plan we signed up for ended, so we then switched to the flex plan which is $20 a month and any visit in that month would be an additional $20. We weren't really utilizing the 4 visits that cost $89 a month which is the reason for the switch. Shelby was the front desk lady who had us both fill out a flex plan form and said we were all set for April. Come April we never went since we were busy and gone for 2 weeks for vacation. Come early May I went back and spoke to the same lady Shelby asking to cancel our account. Keep in mind it was so hectic when I went in there, had probably 4-5 new patients and 3 existing patients waiting. Shelby even mentioned the wait time was over an hour. Shelby asked for our phone numbers and the reason for the cancellation, explained we no longer need the services. Tried talking about the flex plan but then states oh you both are already on that plan. We kept getting interrupted by all the new patients as she was trying to juggle everyone there. Again it was chaotic and frustrating. She then got back to us and said we were good to go. Never gave us any cancellation form, that apparently when I went back this month in June and spoke to a different lady she said a form should've been filled out. I only came in because I noticed I was still being charged from Joint Simi Valley this month. Had no charges for May thinking okay both accounts were cancelled, however in April I was charged $89 and my boyfriends account was charged $20 when Shelby back in March said we were good for April for the $20 Flex Plan. I had my card on file for both accounts so I could see all the charges. After turning in my cancellation form the lady in front said as of today your account is cancelled, I asked her for some type of receipt or something as proof it's canceled because back in May we weren't given anything! I had no issues with the doctors, we thought they were all great. Biggest complaint is the front desk ladies who don't communicate anything apparently to each other. After I explained everything to the lady in front she told me she had no idea what was going on with my account or my boyfriends. She even said she shows no charges on our account yet when I showed her my bank statements going through all the months when we first signed up, I showed her how every 12th of the month we were charged $89 for both. Then April showed 1 charge of $89 on the 12th and $20 on the 17th. May no charges then June $20 on the 14th. The lady in front said she would follow up with her manager and gave me a copy of the cancellation form as proof my account is cancelled and won't be charged the $89. Which again should've never been $89 / month, it should've been $20 and cancelled back in May!!! I don't understand how they can mess up when my boyfriend and I would visit together every time and any time we did changes we were both there. Wouldn't recommend coming here, I have even witnessed other patients canceling their account due to billing / not worth the wait times since existing patients is walk in only and new patients are appointment only. read more

I have the wellness plan and usually go to other locations but now this is open, it's more convenient since I live in the area. I've been a Joint client for about two years and visited five locations. The business model is convenient and the cost is comparable or better to what you would pay as a copayment with health coverage at a traditional chiropractic office. The biggest challenge is the treatment you receive can be inconsistent, solely on the fact that you may not always be seen by the same doctor. Additionally, sometimes the treatment routine is so standardized as to feel robotic. I've found this location to be the most consistent and more importantly the doctors are prescriptive in their approach to adjustments. This personalized treatment has provided me ongoing relief and steady improvement. I now only go to this Simi location, passing by two closer locations to my home. The entire staff is kind and welcoming and the facility is well maintained. I've found that Dr Wolverton's technique in particular addresses my problems effectively, but I would not hesitate to be see by any of the staff at this location. read more
