I love this place. Sometimes it can get really busy, but Dr. Colvin and his staff are amazingly helpful!

Howdy folks, I'd like to recommend Laurent Colvin as a gifted chiropractor. I'm a 35-year plastering contractor and have seen at least 30 chiropractors in the last 35 years. Just by watching him adjusting others, I felt he was exceptional. The first adjustment confirmed this. I've had three since all great. Thank you, Laurent. Kirk Giordano Plastering read more

After limping in grumpy and in pain, Dr. Raina gave me a thorough and completely relieving treatment today. I walked out and am still pain free, untwisted, with good advice and expert hands on skills. I will definitely see her again. Tip top, perfectly wonderful experience. I appreciate the ease of the office experience also. I hadn't used my prepaid account on my keyring because I hadn't needed it until I went horseback riding after way too long. I know where to come for help. read more

I had started this review almost a year ago and I had rated 4 stars. I think because I came from a very different chiropractic experience prior and felt that the Joint was little too rough and quick to really understand my concerns. But you really need to give it a time, several visits, to feel the benefits of it. I do love their concept of walk-in only. It's perfect for me. I have struggled with headaches and my arms going to sleep when I sleep. After several visits I have felt the improvements. I have to admit I would love the location to be closer to me and due that I do skip quite a bit of visits specially when I feel better but the idea of chiropractic services is also that you need so called maintenance or the complaints will come back. But otherwise I'm pretty happy with their service. Just know that their lunch brake is from 2-3 p.m. but if they already have plenty of people queued up they have closed 1:30 p.m., I have learned it the hard way, got left behind the door twice. So I now know to rather avoid going right before the lunch brake. read more

Laurent and Matt at The Joint Chiropractic on Telegraph Ave in Berkeley have been skilled in treatment of my chronic back pain for years. They take the time to really listen to my symptoms and react by adjusting treatment. I often use The Joint weekly to keep daily aches from becoming bigger problems that might need surgery without chiropractic adjustments. I often feel immediate relief. If you are experiencing joint, back, or neck pain I would highly recommend The Joint on Telegraph for walk-in and affordable care. read more

I have always had a great experience at the Joint in Berkeley. I typically work with Dr. Meyers and she does a great job. I also highly recommend the other Chiropractors I seen there. read more

I am writing this review for the joint chiropractic clinic in Berkeley California. I was seen by Dr. Laurent Colvin. He did a thorough examination very efficiently and effectively didn't take that much time. He spoke to me, listened to me to me, isolated my pain and my problem areas, showed me exactly where my areas of problem were and where he was going to adjust my spine. I have chronic problems in my mid-back and neck and have seen many chiropractors over the years. This was probably the best adjustment I have ever experienced. They also have a really good monthly payment plan so you can come up to four times a month very inexpensive no messing with insurance (no this is not a paid advertisement I'm a real person:). I walked right in was greeted by a lovely patient wellness associate named Marie. I was seen within 10 minutes and within a half an hour I left and was able to turn and move my neck and head around freely. I have not been able to do this for 2 and 1/2 weeks I have been in severe and constant pain. So if you want to be treated right, treated fairly and seen immediately, this is the place for you!! I'm going to be coming back a few times weeks for the next couple weeks and then I'll come in less, but I think it's very important to not walk around and be in such pain your spine leads to everything else in your body. read more

The best chiro place on earth. Affordable and professional. Lemme share the most magical thing ever: I had dizziness for 2 weeks straight, and almost fell many times when I was walking. I couldn't hold up my head. Dr. Colvin identified the specific place on my neck that caused my head problem. He did something very different that I had never had in my chiro experience. It was intense. But on the following days, my dizziness started to die down. I'm so thankful that I can finally work again instead of being on my bed all the time. This place is just amazing. I'm moving across the globe, and I'll miss this place forever. Not exaggerating at all!!! read more

So I recently started going back here. Laurent is still great. I got an adjustment from Paul, I don't remember his last name. It was really bad. And his energy was really negative as well. My adjustment wasn't even an adjustment, and I did not feel any relief. Good news though, there is another chiropractor there: Dr Walton, and he's really good! I would give him five stars :-) read more

Best crack in town. So easy. No appointment needed. I went and never waited more than 5-10 min. Love it here. Staff is great and friendly.

I've been going here for years. Dr. Laurent Colvin has gained my trust over time. Out of necessity, a few times I went to other 'Joints'. Last week one chiropractor twisted my neck, as usual. A few hours later the whole left side of my neck and skull inflamed. Overnight it all the way to my legs, causing what felt like micro strokes below my heart from muscle spasms. By morning both sides of my head were flaming and swollen, eventually traveling to my face and eyes. About five days after the twist, I went back to Dr. Colvin. He asked many questions, wanting to know the effects of this upon other parts of my body. He then asked to hold his finger at one point on my neck with a very slight twist, very concerned about being gentle. And with the slightest twist, there was instant relief. I felt like all my nerves were suddenly resting in a rainforest before I made it back to my car. Problem solved. Doctor Laurent Colvin is more than a chiropractor. It's almost magical. I highly recommend him. read more

Took partner who was in obvious pain in to be have treatment after sleeping on his neck wrong. Waited about ten minutes for the chiropractor to put a blood pressure monitor on his wrist, and state blood pressure too high for adjustment. So patient in pain needing treatment turned away, elevated blood pressure common from pain, chiropractic adjustments known to lower blood pressure, increase circulation, etc. No other evaluation done. Wish I could recommend, but seems like there's an issue with wanting to work on bigger people. Also the game that was on seemed more important. Very disappointing. Update: went to another chiropractor no issue, no problems, and adjustment done. Amazing how many points my partners blood pressure went down after adjustment. Obviously he couldn't be treated at The Joint because they didn't want the liability, and state outside scope. What a joke. lol Happy I didn't stay for treatment as I would have most likely been denied as well for previous injuries. If you need a place that only works on people without problems, this is your place. If you need a real chiropractic adjustment where you can actually improve your condition, don't come here. I didn't even receive treatment, but already was put on the email blast for the place. I unsubscribed since this isn't a business I wish to patronize in the future. read more

Dr.Laurent was very brutal with his approach. It was more harmful than healing. It would be helpful if he was mindful of his approach. read more

Dr Colvin is awesome! In and out without any fuss. He's very knowledgeable and experienced so you're in good hands. I don't live here so it's nice knowing I can swing by and have my back taken care of in a flash. In case you're wondering, I've been to over a dozen chiropractors in this lifetime and this guy is truly outstanding in his field. If you look at my reviews, I call it how it is and I wouldn't steer you wrong. Dr Colvin is only in during the week, M-F, 10am to 2pm, then after lunch 3pm to 7pm. Another doctor works the weekends but can't review his since I've never seen him. Good luck! :) read more

Vanessa at the front is the BEST ! Super kind whoever I call to see how busy it is. And Dr.lawerence knows what he is doing and always makes me feel brand new! He clearly has experience and in general is just a great guy. 10/10 recommend him and the joint read more

Very affordable, staff were nice, humble and knowledgeable. The receptionist speaks Spanish! It was quickly and my body feels better! Laurent helped me. I saw a chiropractor here once, he denied that I have scoliosis, which has been obvious to other chiropractors who have seen me and I told him has been shown on x-rays and an MRI. His "treatment" took no more than 2 minutes and left me in worse shape than I came in. Stay away from this place. read more

This place is a complete waste of time. I just walked in at 6:05 pm and the website states that they close at 7 pm on Sundays. No one was waiting to be seen. The front desk guy said they only see new patients between 1-6 pm, and if I would be happy to fill out the forms, they can call me to set up an appointment. When I told him that the cutoff time is not stated on the website and I walked in 5 minutes after this arbitrary cutoff time, he said "the boss is pretty strict," and they have been trying to get "corporate" to change the info on the website for the Berkeley location. Again. The lobby was completely empty and no one was waiting to be seen. I knew I should have taken the negative Yelp reviews seriously concerning the operations at this location. I drove all the way here for no reason because this location can't get it together and provide clear information on a website. It also doesn't help that they essentially shut down their operations 55 minutes before closing time even when no one was waiting for service. read more

Love coming here. Dr. Colvin (owner) is both a wonderful, gifted chiropractor and a great person. The adjustments here are tailored to how you're feeling / what is needed, which is great, especially when most chiros just do cookie cutter stuff. Dr. Colvin's adjustment techniques are also fantastic -- he is confident, gets it right, and I never feel any serious discomfort. Definitely recommend! read more

DOC IS A PIZZA GATE BELEIVER I put up with the Dr. telling me that, "Hillary Clinton would be arrested today" or his Pizzagate and pro Trump conspiracy BS. I PUT UP WITH ALL THAT So when I arrived at 1:50 PM and the sign said "OPEN" parked my car outfront and he put up a sign as I was walking towards the door. CLOSED for Lunch at 2 PM. They admitted me and then the Dr., his pungent body odor quite evident, went off a rant that was not customer friendly. If these were the old days, the French would have backhanded him with a scarf. I'm done. The treatments were decent, the politics were Roy Moore-ish. P. Fernandez read more

Not as good as other locations. I recognize The Joint is aiming to offer affordable chiropractic work and it's a perfect model for those who need a basic adjustment on the regular. However, this location felt dark, dingy, and overall not as clean. In regards to the actual practice, I like a clear adjustment (even a crack at times), but I felt like the chiropractor a this location was not attempting to tune into my needs - he just pushed me hard into the wall while standing up and sent me off. I like the accessibility of the Joint and have been to at least a dozen locations, but I hesitate to return to this location. read more

a friend recommended Dr. Colvin to me for a family member whose body is very nonstandard. That was a stroke of luck: I've never met a chiropractor with such an instinctive understanding of how human bodies operate, standard or otherwise. Our whole family visits him regularly, even the old lady with two back fractures, one ancient and one recent, on the same poor little bone. It works-- I'm still almost as flexible as a teenager... read more

Drove a huge amount of miles from Kansas City and needed an adj. luckily this Joint is open on Sundays thank goodness. Can't remember the Dr's name but a nice black gentleman with great skills. Wow everything just piped right back in! He also did a bit of deep tissue massage around my shoulder muscles. Great job. Now I'm walking straight!! Thanx. read more

Dr. Colvin is truly Berkeley's best kept secret for chiropractic care. He is very knowledgeable and skilled at what he does.

Eh.... The chiropractor on duty changes so the quality and attentiveness changes. But it's $45. You can't beat it. I slept wrong and wrecked my back in some linda way and then had to do a berkeley to sf commute and then a 12 hour corporate av gig and then commute back. I saw these guys two days after that story took place. I was adjusted. On my walk back to my place, after the adjustment, my back completely went out on me and I had to grab a nearby wall until I could get my strength and stability back. I was really pissed off that I experienced that. But it lasted a short amount of time and the next day I was fine. So... maybe it was a side effect of effective treatment. I definitely didn't feel repaired when I left the place, but, the next day I felt fine. read more

The Joint has been a lifesaver! They have easy, affordable plans and I have never had to wait more than MAYBE 10 minutes before when I stop in. Most of the time there isn't even a wait and I'm out within 10 mins! It's obvious the chiropractors here care about their patients and know exactly how to fix what's bothering you. I honestly wish I could come in everyday! Being adjusted is the best feeling in the world! Thank you Berkeley Joint team for your kindness, friendliness, professionalism, and skill! read more

Unprofessional customer services. Drove 20 mins out to get my neck readjusted after calling in, identifying myself (they have my records), to ask if they could see me - which they replied "sure come over". Arrived 1:20pm, place is dead empty but the "doctor" says he cant take me since his lunch break starts at 2pm. Avoid. read more

I've had three visits here so far always seen by Dr. Laurent Colvin and already have an extreme amount of relief I thought would take months to reach. Every visit is so stress free, fast and relieving. I highly recommend! read more

I got into a car accident on Sunday and decided to come to the Joint because it was the closest chiropractor that I could walk to. I walked in, and told the front desk that I had gotten into an accident and needed care. She handed me paperwork, and I spent about 20 minutes filling out paperwork and waiting to speak to the doctor. By the time I was able to speak to him, he tells me that the Joint is actually a 'wellness' center and will not treat me if I got into a car accident. What? I wasted time here when that girl could have just told me that I shouldn't be there. I had to find another one a few blocks away, who was appalled to hear that I was turned away when I needed care. Maybe you guys should advertise that so people don't show up if they're in actual pain. read more

After reading many positive reviews, I decided to try this chiropractor out. I came into The Joint with a dull pain in my back rib cage on my left side. One of the chiropractors did a quick readjustment (cracked my back and my neck a few times) and told me that it might be worth it to come back in later that day to get it readjusted if it still feels uncomfortable. Since it is free of charge to come back on the same day, and because the pain came back a few hours later, I decided to come back in the afrernoon. I went through the same routine as that morning, and again, much to my satisfaction, my back felt very little pain immediately following the procedure. Fast forward to the next morning. I woke up with the worst pain I have ever had in my back. I could hardly get out of bed, and the pain turned into a sharp stinging sensation. Also, the front lower part of my ribcage now has a tingling sensation, which feels like my body's way of telling me that my bones are all out of wack. This has never happened before. Fast foward a few days later and my back has calmed down since that morning, but still has more pain than before I went to the chiropractor. The tingling has not subsided. As much as I want to give The Joint the benefit of the doubt with a two-star review due to their reasonable price and friendly staff, I came to the chiropractor to get positive results, and what I got was more pain than ever. I guess I've learned my lesson to always go to a real doctor before trying out a chiropractor with no known reputation except for some half decent onine reviews. read more

I agree with other reviews about Laurent being a far superior chiropractor to Matt. It's unfortunate but true, thus making for an awkward social interaction. Also, I don't like the fact that the tables are not wiped down in between patients and they don't wash their hands (at least Matt doesn't). I saw a woman with really dirty bare feet on the table right before me, and I could see an oily sheen from body gunk (hair gel, feet goo, who knows?) on the table where several bodies had left their mark (if you've been to a gym, you know what I mean). Yes, I'm a germaphobe, but honestly, with flesh-eating bacteria and all the other creeping crud going around, I'm not taking a chance. Besides, I don't want to get good chiro only half the time and I don't want to have to confront Matt about his skills (or lack thereof). Plus, he always makes a joke about whether or not he did anything to help. I don't think it's funny. I actually take my health seriously. Cancelling my membership. UPDATE: So this is the comment I got back (actual quote) from Laurent regarding wiping down the tables: "Your comment about the tables not being wiped down between patients has been noted. It is not customary in chiropractic practices to do so. I will have you know that everytime an obviously sweaty patient gets off my table I do wipe the table down with an antibacterial alcohol cleaner, but they do not represent a significant percentage of the patient population. We clean the tables regardless at least once a week." Ewwww, ew, and more ew. Once a week, eh? As a medical professional, I'm very surprised, to say the least. ...gross with a bit of attitude to go with it. Guess he's not one bit worried about their business. Yeah, we didn't used to have to wear condoms either, Laurent, but things have changed. I would say boning up on HPV and staph is in order, for the health of your patients. ALCOHOL DOES NOT KILL HPV, NOR HIV, NOR STAPH, NOR HEP C.. Just use a solution of 10% bleach/water. Keep it simple. sheesh read more

A total ripoff. Went for a one time appointment. Got convinced that the best deal was to pay $57 two months in a row for 8 sessions. The trick is that they don't tell you that the sessions expire (you are supposed to go 4 times per month) And that they are really not closed until 7pm. I went 3 times at 6pm and the door was already locked and they wouldn't let me in with the excuse that they already were "full". When I explained this to Doc. Laurent he was very rude, disrespectful and said that if I don't use my sessions I lost them, there are no refunds and basically its not his problem if I can't be there earlier. Then as if nothing had happened went very sarcastically and asked do you feel any pain, does anything hurt ?and he did his adjustment on me. It was so uncomfortable to let him do an adjustment on me after his rudeness, but all I could think of was "I already gave my money to this lier, so I better get something out of this" Doc. Laurent's work is fast and OK. But his manners, care for patients and costumer service is horrible. He just cares about getting people's money. While I waited to speak to him about my situation I heard how the receptionist was convincing another client to get the same package I had without telling the truth. I will never recommend this place to anyone. It may looks cheap and a good deal but its just a facade of a ripoff. read more

Treatment itself is a-ok. The "deal" they give you is not (they make you come in physically to cancel membership--no phone or email cancellations--what is this, 1990?, and after you've cancelled you have to pay an additional month). Buyer beware. read more

I would recommend this business to both friends and family. There are no appointments, their bedside manner is elite, and the cost is a great value at a reasonable price: 20 bucks trial, 49 bucks a month for four visits. I had never been to a chiropractor before, but my back was so tight/stiff I figured it was either this or a doctor's office (at a hospital). My visit took ten minutes and I felt like a million bucks after. I felt loose and exhaled with relief :D. You will leave with a kool-aid ear to ear smile. Wonderful value! read more

I had the sad misfortune to get rear-ended recently. I have always had neck and back problems but the whiplash really tipped the scale. Being a dirt 'po grad student I hastily went to The Joint to get things straightened out. Matt was fabulous! Totally professional, highly entertaining, and brought my neck back to life. The sign-up process was super easy, prices are just right, and the office is lovely. Be advised that you are on display throughout your adjustment (i.e. there are no partitions). I could go for a little privacy, but considering the quality of the work and the great price I can't really complain. read more
