My friend and I stopped by here one night after a long day of fishing. We both smelled horrible…read moreand were dressed like idiots. It was 30 minutes before closing on a slow Thursday night. Having worked in restaurants before, I'm a bit more sensitive towards restaurant workers needing to break down, clean up, close down, and go home. I'm never one to go in five minutes to closing and order a meal. My buddy says, "They're open, let's get some food." "They look like they're getting ready to close. No customers. No wait, they look like they're still cooking. Let's see what they got." We went in and were greated like long lost family. They were so nice and welcoming. We ordered gyros and rice to go. The food was fantastic! Everything cooked perfectly. Definitely going back.

Ok so ugh I really wanted to like this place but it just disappointed on so many levels…read more 1. Both my gf and I got the chicken shawarma pasta which was presented beautifully but lacked so much flavor. It didn't taste salted and it was almost too small of a portion size considering how much we paid for it. 2. The falafel we got came in 3 and it was so expensive, dried out and unseasoned. Like I'm so serious it taste like nothing- no salt, no cumin, nothing. The pickled veggies it came on were delicious though I will say maybe even the best but the falafel felt so flat. 3. We got tiramisu and baklava as dessert and our desserts were mostly frozen. Gross. The tiramisu lacked flavor and the baklava was way too dense but kinda soggy at the same time. 4. The pita was so tough to eat super chewy. 5. The hummus was just alright. 6. Our food did come super quickly- we ordered through DoorDash!

Actually I was very skeptic about this place, my buddy said they had some good crawfish. Upon…read morearrival there basically wasn't any cars in the parking lot and the building looked really run down. Inside was not really better, very old looking, also went to bathroom to wash up and there was an odor from the water. Thought I was in for a bad experience, but was totally surprised on how good everything was. Our waitress was very tentative and prompt and welcoming. We ordered spicy calamari, great amount of calamari and the hit of spice was detected. Fried nicely as well. I had the gumbo which the dark rue is how i like it, good amount of ingredients and the cup filled to the top that when putting the rice in it overflowed. Crawfish it was called curry style, was thinking there were going to be some hint of Indian flavoring, it wasn't. Though it was very delicious, very buttery/garlicky and another seasoning I couldn't put my finger on, but they were delicious. You can order more of their seasoning mix which we did and mixed it in the crawfish bag. Also 5lbs for $25 is a win.

Given that it's the fifth Friday of Lent, I still have to keep abstaining from meat so I ordered a fried fish platter. The platter consists of two nicely battered fish (forgive me for not knowing what kind it is), an ample serving of fries, and a salad. Mom, of course, had her crawfish. I'm happy to report that we both were satisfied with our meals. Mine was about nine bucks, which was three bucks cheaper than what most churches' fish fry celebrations were offering. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the fish; the pieces I got were pretty huge. It occurred to me that I love fish and chips as much as the British do. The young lady who served us did an outstanding job. When I asked for a go-to cup to put my iced tea in, she offered to give me a whole new drink. There were many good things that stemmed from today's visit that I just had to update my negative review from 2017.

Great breakfast this morning at Main St Bistro after church. This was our second time here…read more Same friendly service in a very comfortable setting. They had a lot of daily specials to choose from. We both ordered from the brunch menu. I ordered The Alamo. A breakfast bowl Cheesy Hash browns, Bacon, Sausage and Ham covered with Gravy and Three Over Easy Eggs. My wife ordered the Le Bistro. Two Scrambled Eggs, Grits Bacon and an English Muffin. Such a great local spot have a meal with friends and family.

I've been wanting to try Main St. Bistro, so when my sister suggested it for Easter, I was down. We had a party of 7 (5 adults, 2 kids). We got there around 1:00 on Easter Sunday & didn't have to wait long even though it was busy. A man took our drink order. My brother-in-law asked to go ahead & order two appetizers. Our waitress, Natalie, came shortly after, introduced herself & confirmed the appetizers. We were brought 4 small cubes of banana bread, which felt weird since there were 7 of us. My toddler & my niece both had a whole one. The other two were split between 4 adults. My brother-in-law didn't have any. The appetizers came out fairly quickly & were gone just as fast. We finally ordered right at 2:00 after a little wait & indecisiveness. Then my son was done sitting in a highchair. My husband and brother-in-law took the kids outside. They played for a bit & walked two laps around the whole strip center. They came back, still no food. My son had a complete meltdown since he was both hungry & now tired, my brother-in-law asked if there was any way they could just rush my son's food. They did and he started eating, everyone was so hungry that they had some bites of his food as well. My mom went to ask the manager if our food was close to being ready. The answer was no, there was a whole list of orders ahead of ours. The manager was kind enough to bring us some spinach dip & apologized for the wait, explaining she was dreading today because the kitchen wasn't equipped for the Easter crowd. She assured us that they were working as fast as possible & we appreciated her honesty & effort. My mom went to her car & asked us to let her know when her food came. Our food finally started arriving at 3:17, and not all at once. My sister's meal came last. By this time my son was done & was getting restless while we had JUST started eating. The food itself was disappointing. My sister and I both ordered Benedicts. Mine (Boudin Benny) wasn't hot and was mushy instead of seared. Both of our poached eggs were undercooked. My sister's also had a large amount of cream cheese that wasn't listed and didn't taste good. Other issues: my mom's fries were cold, my brother-in-law said his chicken fried steak was no good. He ate it because he was hungry, and while my husband liked his sandwich & was happy with it, his fries were cold. My niece enjoyed her burger. My son's shrimp, fries, & macaroni were all hot and good... likely because they were rushed for him. It was 3:45 by the time we left. They close at 3. We received a 40% discount, but there was also a 20% automatic gratuity added, which some in our party didn't expect. Here's where they earn stars back... Natalie was great! She took great care of us & kept apologizing for the delay. We could tell that she felt bad, but it was not her fault. The manager also came by checking on us multiple times & got us settled as best she could. She brought us spinach dip while we waited & she made sure that my toddler got food very quickly after being asked about it. She did thank us multiple times for our kindness & patience. As did Natalie. I too, was appreciative of the kindness they showed us. Most of us have all worked in food service before & we understand that the wait staff can only do so much. We also understand being slammed in the kitchen & how fast paced they have to work in order to handle rushes. I appreciate the 40% discount... 20% after the tip. This review was based on one trip & I will update my review if/when I return. But this visit was definitely not a great experience & if it weren't for the kindness, I'd be leaving one star.

We finally went through the reviews and decided it was the last day of vacation so we went. It did NOT disappoint. The outside looks a little sketchy for a seafood restaurant, quite honestly, but the inside was nice. You walk in and see several desserts which looked scrumptious. The seating area is very open and easily accessible. Our server was a young kid and very kind. He seemed a bit new as he couldn't answer many questions about the menu, or simply is one of those "read and figure it out yourself" type of servers. I'm sure you know the type. My husband and I both felt like he was maybe "partaking" before work as he was a little apathetic about everything. We ordered the corn dip appetizer which was the perfect blend of savory and spicy. Our toddler loved it. My husband ordered crab crusted red fish and he was blown away. I got the coconut shrimp and definitely should have done the half order. We got a few drinks and mine was pure alcohol, no juice to the point it tasted like I was drinking rum straight from the bottle. For dessert we got booze Oreo milkshakes which were delicious and we were able to take them home. We would definitely be back!

The restaurant is super clean and the environment is always welcoming. They greet and seat you pretty fast. My only suggestion is they train the employees more on cleanliness- I watched one of the waiters continuously scratch his head then touch plates and he coughed in his hand. I sat at the bar and never saw him wash his hands. I did tell what I presume to be the manager he went and washed his hands then did it again. It would make customers turn away. But the food is good. I also had the boudain balls and peel and eat shrimp. Both were good!
