This hotel is very large and very fancy, and the Italian kitchen is just the same. The service was wonderful, our large group was accommodated with no problems, and we had delicious food. Everyone enjoyed their pasta dish, and if you're staying in the Clayton Hotel I would recommend checking the restaurant out!

This was our last meal in Ireland before flying home the next day. My daughter and I weren't super hungry, so decided to split a couple of dishes. The first was a caprese salad. It was fine (hard to go wrong with just tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil). The presentation was very nice. We were unsure whether or not to try one of the pizzas that caught our eye because it was unusual, but the server said it was one of his favorite dishes, so we gave it a try. And glad we are! It was a breakfast pizza with bacon (more like ham), sausage, spinach, cheese, and tomatoes. In the center is an egg that cooks while the pizza is in the oven. It was delicious! Our server was helpful and humorous. The restaurant setting is very nice, but it's one big open room; none of the more private booth seating.

Fettuccine Alfredo - needed more flavor & noodles were over cooked.

Got invited along to an occasion here last weekend and used said voucher. The menu really impressed me, seemed very authentic with many options not often seen at your usual run of the mill Italian. I went for the venison sausage with berry and red onion reduction for starter and wild boar bolognese with papardelle fresh egg pasta topped with parmesan cheese. Both were top notch and I'd recommend both for sure. We finished by sharing the homemade tiramisu and a chocolate cherry cake, both didn't last long, the tiramisu in particular was bloody fantastic. Nice as I've had :)

At one stage there were three in the village but they all closed their doors in recent years. They serve authentic Italian food, with an emphasis on freshly made items like pasta and tiramisu (one of the best I've had). The service is fantastic and there is value to be had in the Early bird or voucher offers to be found on the usual discount sites, though the ala carte menu is definitely on the pricier side. No better (or other!) place to look for a good feed of Italian fare in Swords; you'll get a warm welcome and be looked after very well if our experience was anything to go by!

The chef and staff are very attentive and the service is excellent. I ate from the a la carte menu and the others from the early bird menu. 20 euro for two courses. 23 euro for three course. The kids ordered a generous portion of spicy chicken wings which where delicious. My wife had the Bruschetta which I was eyeing enviously until my Gambretti arrived (tiger prawns in tempura batter). Scrumptious. (I would return for the starter alone) We all enjoyed our starters and I had the rump of beef steak for main. Best steak I've ever had when dining. Simply divine. Huge portion. My wife and daughter had the Penne and my unadventurous son had the Pizza. All really enjoyed their meals and we had no complaints (which is a first with fussy eaters) We all had dessert which had been freshly prepared. I drank a bottle of Chardonnay from the varied list. All in All I had no complaints about this beautiful family restaurant and I cannot wait to return. This quaint family run authentic Italian would suit all types from romantic couples to families and parties. I have at last found my quiet little Italian which I will be visiting on a regular basis from now on.

Ìt wasn't that busy for a Saturday- there were quite a few empty tables, but a pianist made the room feel full with a lovely mixture of tunes- so it was actually even better, not having to compete with a noisy room! Would I go back?- absolutely- it was a lovely experience and would recommend highly! salut!

"But why, Brian, is it not," you ask? Many of you may know that my wife uses a wheelchair, so that is usually first on my mind when visiting any establishment. We check to see if it says its accessible. And Wood Fire said it was! Yay! Except, well, sort of yes, sort of no. We were able to get in the door. The first door, to the outside covered seating area. No chance of getting in the second door into the building proper, because that had stairs. But that was ok. It was a nice night out and we were happy to sit in the covered outside area. But is a place really accessible if the toilets are not? Not only would the stairs have been an issue, but there's no way her wheelchair could have navigated through the restaurant to the back, and once there, forget it. Way too small and narrow for a chair to get in there. So yeah, great food, nice people, we had a good time. But I'm not sure "accessible" is accurate.

And it was. Did a little research and found this gem a block and a half from our hotel. Called an ordered a 4 frommagi "mini calzone" and was told they didn't have that on the menu any longer, so I asked why they did have for calzones and he said "we have one with mozzarella, Parmesan, scarmorza and salami". I said "could I order that but without the salami" and so it was done- tre frommagi. I couldn't decide between the Bianca and the "Lucky Tom" but on the owner's suggestion, went with the Bianca, a pizza with an olive oil base, topped with tomato, mozzarella di buffalo, Parma ham, shaved park and rocket (a.k.a. Arugula). When I went to pick them up 10 minutes later, they were ready and had a lovely char from the wood fired oven. The "mini" calzone would've been more than enough for the two of us, and I wished I had ordered just that since we do not have a refrigerator in our room and have to get creative with any leftovers. Anyway both hit the spot, but there was so much cheese in the calzone o ended up having it on the crust of my pizza and there was too much rocket on the pizza, but overall a win and a nice finish to the evening before we drifted off to sleep.
