Not a fan- definitely not authentic Italian food. My order was wrong but they quickly corrected it.

The service is superb and efficient, and their early bird menu is great in these recession times.

This is hands down the best Italian restaurant I've ever experienced in Dublin, and I've been…read moreliving in Dublin for over fifty years. I always bring overseas visitors here as it's a guaranteed great meal. I've never had a bad food experience here. The ambiance is lovely and the only downside to this restaurant is that it isn't larger. Its small size puts time pressure on both staff and patrons. I would give it four stars for that reason if I could bring myself to, which I can't because the food's too good! :) My advice to patrons would be to book a table at IL Vicoletto outside of the weekend dinner evening rush. The homemade pasta is an experienced to be savored, especially if you order the wild boar ragu.

We ordered two glasses of Barbera wine as our cocktail, followed by calamari, pappardelle al funghi and ravioli Asiago. The wine was perfect and complimented our meal. Our server Massimo brought out some bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar to start our meal. The calamari was amongst the best I've ever had, the breading was light and crispy. Both our pasta dishes were divine and authentic. At the end of our meal we had some espresso and were given complementary limoncello shots. Il Vicoletto was amongst the best restaurants we visited during our trip to Dublin. I highly recommend for anyone looking to eat great Italian food.

And it was. Did a little research and found this gem a block and a half from our hotel. Called an ordered a 4 frommagi "mini calzone" and was told they didn't have that on the menu any longer, so I asked why they did have for calzones and he said "we have one with mozzarella, Parmesan, scarmorza and salami". I said "could I order that but without the salami" and so it was done- tre frommagi. I couldn't decide between the Bianca and the "Lucky Tom" but on the owner's suggestion, went with the Bianca, a pizza with an olive oil base, topped with tomato, mozzarella di buffalo, Parma ham, shaved park and rocket (a.k.a. Arugula). When I went to pick them up 10 minutes later, they were ready and had a lovely char from the wood fired oven. The "mini" calzone would've been more than enough for the two of us, and I wished I had ordered just that since we do not have a refrigerator in our room and have to get creative with any leftovers. Anyway both hit the spot, but there was so much cheese in the calzone o ended up having it on the crust of my pizza and there was too much rocket on the pizza, but overall a win and a nice finish to the evening before we drifted off to sleep.

Food is good. Nothing to complain about. The service how ever is extremely bad. Food takes way too…read morelong to come out the kitchen or doesn't come at all. Would not waste a dinner night here again.
