The Island Pub is an airy taproom with large picture windows overlooking the water, offering gourmet brick-oven pizzas, fresh salads, appetizers, and wraps, all made with high-quality ingredients prepared daily. As the only dining option on Douglas Island, it's well worth a visit. We stopped in for a pizza on a rainy Saturday night and were impressed by the friendly service and delicious pizza. The thin crust was perfect, not too doughy, and the flavors and sauce were spot on. We'd definitely return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. With a fantastic selection of pizzas, a welcoming atmosphere, and outstanding staff, this place truly stands out. The restaurant is clean and well-maintained, with plenty of parking available. The experience was so good that we came back for more! The pizza was exceptional, thin, crisp crust with fresh toppings that blended beautifully. It's not overrun with tourists, making it a great local gem. Our group tried several different pizzas, and every single one was amazing. Excellent value, fantastic atmosphere, and some of the best pizza we've ever had!

I have eat in and ordered out. Island Pub seems consistent. The pizza topping this time seemed like they skimped. But the pizza was good. I ordered to go and it was done in 15-20 minutes. If you go to the restaurant to sit and eat, it has a great view of Gatineau channel on nice days in Juneau.

Specialty pizzas ,local beers on tap! Great vibes The Island pub is a best kept secret for the little island. Towards the end of the island, the restaurant sits a block off of the main drag. It's a must stop if you're going to Juneau and you want great food. I was able to have their steak sandwich and one of the specialty pizzas that was submitted and add one to stay on the menu for the year. The pizza is made from a real hand built pizza oven that could been seen anywhere in Italy. My pizza had pepperoni, spinach, garlic cloves, bacon, jalapeños, and banana peppers with Alfredo as the sauce and mozzarella as the cheese. It's was amazing, very unique and looked over powering, but was very balanced. I got to try all of local beer is there from Juneau and other neighboring towns. The beers were great, and the service was awesome. Overall, it's the best kept secret and you should try to get there before rush-hour because it's always packed!!

This was a great dining experience. The service was a little odd, but the food made up for it. We got seated instantly, the bartender took one persons order and then walked away. We had to wave him back over to get the other person in our party's order. I ordered the Smokin Hot Fungi, but I ended up getting a Bee's Knees. It was good, but I didn't notice I had the wrong pizza until I had eaten half of it. I think I'll get the cauliflower pizza crust next time, we tried the crust sticks and they were incredible! Great food, odd service... I'll still be back!!!

Atmosphere was great, Jesse (not sure if that is how you spell his name) was extremely accommodating, and the food was top notch. I don't live in Juneau but anytime I pass by this will be a "must stop" for me!

Classic cozy bar with a great view. Big bar area with lots of seating and some hightops surrounded by a smaller dining area. Solid pizzas with creative toppings and chewy not too thick crust. A couple food items like the chowder were a little light on the seasoning. Great drink prices and delightful refreshing mojito.

One of my favorite spots in town. Ambience manages to be romantic and lively all at the same time with great service. The smoked salmon is a must do! I also love trying out two different pizzas on one pie.

Blue boar pizza! Couldn't wait to take a bite before taking a bite!

Oh my gosh, yum! My husband works in Juneau for the summer and I came up to visit him and he told me we had to get something from here. Because of the dreary and rainy day, we decided to stay in and order pizza for takeout from The Island Pub. It didn't take me long to select the Blue Boar and I was not disappointed! Besides being ready super fast, it was still so hot and fresh when my husband returned home minutes after heading to the restaurant. The combination of the toppings was absolutely perfect and the crust was cooked to perfection!

Hot fungi pizza with roasted garlic, arugula, and honey

The best chowder I've had in a while! Incredibly flavorful salmon, stock full of vegetables, not overwhelmed by cream, very satisfying. Incredible colorful mountain views. The "hot fungi" pizza was amazing! Mushroom, roasted garlic, arugula and warm honey - the flavors work surprisingly well together. The place was busy, noisy, and had a fun atmosphere. Staff were hard-working and polite. Everything was great about this place.

Coming from San Diego I got the turkey sandwich. Probably should've gotten the pizza but the sandwich was alright. Decent size for the price

Pizza place that locals love. Mediocre. Their website advertises pizzas they haven't made for years. Prompt, expensive, small.

The salmon dip here is amazing. The vibe is also really good, although the service was a little slow. Other food we had was decent.

The Island Pub is legit the only pizza place in Juneau worth the price. Draft beer selection is pleasing.

Cruise ships are in abundance every day, so come early for breakfast and just stand in line for lunch. In fact, you stand in line anyway, reading the menus laying all about. Friendly staff, all locals, and they are just happy to serve you. Tables are catch and catch can, so be patient. My boyfriend ordered the loco moco and said it wasn't good at all. When he called to place the order, the girl who answered the phone didn't even seem to know how to put an order in, which made the process unnecessarily long and frustrating. What completely sealed the deal for me, though, was reading the owner's responses to negative reviews. Instead of addressing concerns professionally or taking accountability, the owner's replies come across as rude, defensive, and borderline hostile. Customers are talked down to, blamed, or dismissed for their experiences. As someone who reads reviews before returning to a restaurant, seeing an owner respond this way is extremely off-putting and makes it clear that customer feedback is not valued here. Between the poor food quality, disorganized service, and the owner's unprofessional behavior online, we will not be coming back.

Red Dog Saloon is small and packed so we had to wait to enter towards the later hours due to our party size of 7. We didn't eat during our stay but we did have a couple drinks. It was fun to look at all the business cards, patches, hats etc. covering every inch of the walls and ceiling. Floors of sawdust assist with the old-time gold rush days feel. Unfortunately, we only had about 45 minutes to experience Red Dog Saloon before heading back to our ship. Staff was friendly and energetic.

The restaurant was crowded and loud, which I understand can happen in a popular tourist spot, but the staff seemed completely overwhelmed and uninterested in helping customers. What bothered me most was the service from our waitress, Summer. In my experience, she came across as disrespectful and dismissive the entire time we were there. Simple questions about the menu felt like an inconvenience to her, and the attitude we received made the whole meal uncomfortable. We were rushed while ordering, had long waits for drinks and food, and when we tried to politely ask about the delay, the response felt rude instead of helpful. The food itself was average at best and definitely not worth the prices. Some items arrived lukewarm, and parts of our order were incorrect. By the time everything was fixed, the rest of the table had already finished eating. The atmosphere may appeal to tourists looking for the "old saloon" vibe, but customer service should still matter no matter how busy a place is. Overall, this was one of the least enjoyable dining experiences I've had in Alaska. Between the poor service, long waits, and disrespectful attitude we experienced from Summer, I wouldn't choose to come back or recommend it to others. I hope management takes customer concerns more seriously in the future because the location and concept have a lot of potential.
