Workout for the day!
Kara S.

If you're looking for a community of positive people to get strong with look no further! The trainers are all amazing and very well versed in pushing you to achieve your goals but accommodating any injuries. The community is also amazing! So many great people with like minded goals. State of the art Rogue equipment and a nicer coffee maker than any tech start up Come for the coffee. Leave with new friends and bigger muscles!

Squats and Leg Day
Francis B.

Thank goodness for The Iron House. Coach Tom Glazier gave my body the leg day that it needed . The positive feedback and encouragement between sets made the workout really go by fast. As a former college athlete, it's really hard recreating a team environment of pushing one another through a difficult workout. After years of searching for community with similar training as college athletics. I finally found it!! I really hope you give this gym community a try in the East Bay . Once you feel the atmosphere of music pumping and weights hitting the ground . You will never return to any other gym . Cheers yelp and remember lift Heavy !

Just a small part of the amazing training studio at Iron House!

Cathy and Marcella, who teach the small fitness classes, are amazing and the best cheerleaders you could ask for! I also love the sense of community and seeing the same friendly faces every week while becoming stronger and feeling better about myself. The instructors are always checking your form during the exercises and make sure you get the most out of your workout. They also tailor the exercises to your strength or any limitations you may have. Having an owner who is -la physical therapist is a huge plus for a gym and you can tell based on the instructors he chooses. For me personally I couldn't have asked for a better gym after years of not working out. I highly recommend Fit Studio Danville!

Surfaces appear clean, but accessories haven't been replaced in over two years and are often disgusting, with cockroaches sometimes found in the filthy mats. The owner's approach to sanitation is insufficient, providing only Renew moisturizing hand wash, which is not antibacterial, and Soluguard botanical spray. While Soluguard is EPA-registered to kill some household germs, it's a thyme oil-based product that doesn't provide the necessary level of infection protection against viruses like COVID or RSV in a gym setting. This inadequate hygiene, combined with the owner's indifference to member requests and dangerous habit of propping doors open, creates a serious safety concern.

The gym was clean and organized, and I was impressed by the modern, well-maintained equipment and variety of workout options. The overall atmosphere was great, and I definitely plan on coming back. I'd recommend Lux Gym to anyone looking for a nice place to work out.

I was a founding member for a year and here's what I learned…read more Here's the good: The equipment is nice, aesthetic even. It's cleanly, she runs a tight ship on her employees to walk the floor and make sure weights are put away and attachments aren't lying around. I didn't see a machine out of working order, except one of the legs machines, and even then it was fixed promptly. There's a good array of options for whatever your workout is and choices you probably won't see if your standard commercial gym. Here's the truth: I cancelled as a founding member at $60/mo so if that isn't a good enough value to stay, the price for new members is stupid expensive. You're talking close to bay club prices for less than a quarter of the space and amenities. Recovery - there is none. She calls Glow House studio recovery for some odd reason. It's facial derma-planning and spray tanning. No sauna, steam room, massage chairs, nothing traditionally considered "recovery" unless we're redefining words. There's maybe 30 parking spots so if this place ever gets busy, good luck with that although their pricing is likely keeping them from growing and they use the guise of "exclusive" to justify it. But the real problem here is community. This place feels like high school mean girls club and a vanity project for the owner. If you peddle her clothing brand to get a discount code in your online bio and like filming cringy online content, you'd be best friends with the culture here. As another reviewer here said hearing Josh (front end tattoo guy) talking about other members - if you aren't in their "crew" or worship the owners egotistical wish to be a women's only gym, you're on the outside. Acquaintances of mine identity Lux as a girls only gym because it's the place self proclaimed "influencers" go to film content. You'll find tripods out almost every session you go. Imagine taking some of the most annoying online wannabe "influencers" and running a gym with just them as the work force - you get self inflated ego's, workout environments that are more about filming and attention, more posing, less lifting. Everything here feels performative, every interaction. Girls poking out their behinds and effeminate men shaking hips to film cringey online content for a brand they don't own and a company they must feel is their lifetime job of saying "Have a good workout." If your natural next step in life is to try and grow your "online presence" and like being around like minded individuals that care more about what they are showing online and perhaps want to peddle clothing and peptides. - you'll fit right in. When I emailed to cancel I received no response and had to call 2 days later to ask what's going on. The owner said I was cancelled to which I asked "Oh so you just didn't want to respond to my email or communicate confirmation in any way?" I wasn't even going to review this place but what a shit way to do business.

The classes feel like studio classes (like barre or spin, etc.) that you'd be paying almost $200/month for without any amenities or regular gym equipment. I've been to other gyms in the past that had a lot of hm, lets just call it people watching and social hour. Folks here are definitely here to workout, do their own thing and friendly. Definitely a no judgement zone. I also had some hesitations based on other reviews about not being able to freeze or cancel membership within the first year especially if you have an injury and what not but decided to go for it anyway despite that, more on that later. Some other other gyms didn't seem to be any better based on those reviews so it probably would've been similar issues elsewhere anyway. When you initial sign up, they give you some comp sessions with a trainer (to obviously sell you personal training) but it's something I wanted to try anyway. I thought, why not, let's give it a go for a few months since I thought it would be good to get an extra boost and back into a routine. Well, a few months had passed and then I had some travel plans so I was away from the gym but then came back from my travels with a severe knee injury where I could barely walk. It sucked but I showed up anyway. Not because I couldn't cancel my membership due to the contract terms but because I needed movement for rehab. I was initially hesitant about returning to training because I felt like I wouldn't be training at 100%. And let's be real, the training sessions aren't cheap. After some discussion with physical therapist for a rehab plan, I decided to return to training with Summer and it was honestly one of the best decisions I've made. Summer programed exercises for me to supplement my PT. She has been really awesome to work with, because my program needed a lot of re-working along the way to adapt to my rehab progress. She's also open to feedback and really great with listening to my input on things that I want to work on. While I am still ways away from being 100% recovered from my knee injury, I already feel like it's night and day compared to just a few months ago. So why only 4 stars? Well, only taking one off is quite generous despite some issues with their app, specifically for training and the so-so amenities in the locker room. The app isn't the best and there were some miscommunications with it that led to a lot of frustration but the training manager Matt was really nice and made it right. The other reason for taking off the star was the amenities which they finally changed to something that smells way better. The previous products didn't smell good and it seemed like the shampoo, body wash, and face cleanser seemed like it was all the same soap in the shower. Didn't feel like there is anything different between the stuff in the bottles. It wouldn't even upset me that there was just one multipurpose wash but the same soap in the different bottles is just confusing for me. Like what's the point? Anyway, good riddance with the old stuff. I haven't tried the new stuff yet aside from the lotion that smells heavenly. I haven't been to the other locations to compare but this one is sufficient for my needs.

Actually life changing…read more I've waited to review this gym, and I can confidently say that after a year of being a member - it is worth every penny!! With Equinox you truly get what you pay for - cleanliness, supportive and attentive staff, great atmosphere, quality equipment and machines, and incredible amenities. As someone who had a membership at both Planet Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness, there is nothing like Equinox. Regardless of the time of day, or day of the week - their version of "busy" or "peak times" is nothing in comparison to other gyms. I've always been able to find a spot to workout (squat rack, free weights, etc) and have hardly ever had to wait for a machine. In the few times I have had to wait, it was super short or Ive been able to work into a set with another person. It's also incredibly clean with wonderful amenities. My ideal Saturday consists of getting to Equinox - completing a workout, steam room session (15-20 mins), shower and massage. Also, I definitely want to shoutout the trainer I worked with, Jordan! I saw results in 3 months of working with him than I have in over a year of training with someone else. There is also a full spa!! Shoutout to Hailey and Amelia!! I've had them both as massage therapists - and they were both AMAZING!!! Overall, is it pricey? Yes, but all of the benefits are more than worth it!!! So happy to have found this incredible gym!!!!

It's not a nice gentle flush either, that thing is flushing like a hurricane, splashing everything back up because it too powerful to be contained. it is on schedule the whole time. I also explained that my guest is a minor, why would he even have an ID? The whole interaction came across as unnecessary and gave me major "wannabe manager" vibes. Don't take it from me, take it from the almost triple digit number of belts lining the walls, the hundreds of hands raised with Coach Kirian Fitzgibbons, and the almost two decade long gym history that CSA has. This is not just about high level training, it's about community, discipline, having fun while getting in shape, being able to defend yourself -- there is no one who cannot be in this room with some of the greatest legends. I've trained at many gyms, and I've never been met with such a high level compounded with technique, no ego, and overall the most incredible training partners. It starts from the top down, the North Star being Coach K. He has created an environment where all are welcome -- from throwing your first punch to guiding people to the UFC, PFL, LFA, WBC Championships -- and way too many more to name. Beyond Coach K, you get the highest level of coaches -- for example, ex UFC, previously ranked 7 in the world(!!!!!), WCK World Champion, absolute legend, Jessica-Rose Clark. I've been training 1-1 with her since April and I consider it the best day of my week. I look forward to being with her every single week to not only help improve my game, but my mental game, my outlook on my week, it has significantly helped my mentality -- beyond just physical fitness. On the physical fitness side, I had years of training behind me and I wish I had started at CSA -- so do what I wish I had done, start here, start now. From BJJ Fanatics, "Fitzgibbons is one of the top tier striking coaches in North America, his take no prisoners attitude towards teaching is highly regarded by his students and his peers" If you're still reading, it's time to walk into the gym and change your life for the better.
