My friend and I checked out this club and overall we really liked it. The place was super clean and you can tell they take good care of it. I mainly went for the pool, and I also used the steam room, sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub downstairs. Everything was clean and felt really nice. But honestly, the policies were a big downside. For example, we could sign up, but if we wanted other people to join under the same plan to save money, they had to be under 18, which just doesn't make sense. The guest policy was the biggest issue for me. You can bring a guest, but it has to be a different person every time. I'm paying around $330 a month, so it would be reasonable to at least bring my spouse once in a while, even just once a month. Not being able to bring the same person is really restrictive and doesn't feel practical. Overall, the club itself is great, but these policies are too strict, and that's why I decided not to sign up. read more

I've been going to lifetime for over a year now and love it! I have been a member of gyms all of the area and I initially joined for their kids club. The kids club is amazing. They are the best around! They have art projects on par with preschool, so much play, and with the included parents night out EVERY weekend it is truly a life saver. Aside from kids club the gym itself is immaculate. The instructors are great and the variety of classes the best. I especially love the CTR classes, yoga/meditation, and recovery areas. Are there some areas of improvement? Yes. But having been to almost every other gym in the area I can honestly say they're the best. read more

I had a really great experience at Life Time in Walnut Creek last week. I accidentally left my mini backpack at the gym on Tuesday. I spent the next two days looking for it and asking multiple employees if they had seen it, but unfortunately, I had no luck. On Thursday night, I went back again, and Maria, one of the supervisors, was incredibly helpful and was able to find my backpack for me. I really appreciate her taking the time to help me and making sure I got it back. I also have to mention how incredibly clean the women's locker room always is, especially when Maria is working. Life Time is one of the best gym I ever attended! The gym was always clean with handy clean towels anywhere you were in i, and a super friendly staff. Unfortunately I moved out of the Bay Area and I could not longer attend my fitness program at the gym, including my 3x/week private sessions with my extraordinary personal coach Stephen Brenna! Stephen is an excellent certified training coach (and a NUTRITIONIST!!) that knows and upholds the fitness standards to the next level. He was always on time, very dedicated to our workouts, looking from every angle if I was correctly doing my work , he encouraged me, and was very positive and supportive throughout my workouts; and provided me with real scores and honest opinion about my performance! I was really impressed with such a great fitness standards that Stephen holds! This was my experience with coach Stephen Brenna and I'm sure it can be yours too!! If you need a personal coach, regardless of your age, Stephen can work and design a personal fitness program for you (that I mentioned he is a Nutritionist!)--just like he did for me--based on your needs and objectives! I want to start by saying the class instructors are awesome- I'm a regular in Sabrina B, Kat K, Lo T and Courtney M's classes and they are all incredible! The reason for the 3 star rating is that I'm super disappointed that this location has decided to completely eliminate the cycling program in order to make more room for pilates classes, which cost extra money on top of the regular membership. Without cycling, half of my weekly gym routine has effectively been eliminated with no comparable replacement. Considering what we pay in monthly fees, this is a huge bummer. read more

I have been considering some local gyms and this is a really great facility in an amazing location. What impressed me the most is the basketball court. The only comparable facility is Bay Club. Unfortunately I just heard they are removing their basketball court in september. I am sad because a lot of people love playing basketball and pickleball together and it is one of the best parts of the gym. read more

Absolutely unacceptable experience worst Lifetime location I've ever been to The Walnut Creek Lifetime Gym is a complete disappointment, especially for a place that charges premium prices and claims to offer premium service. The front desk staff--particularly the girls working there--are extremely rude, disrespectful, and confrontational toward paying members. Instead of being helpful or professional, they argue with customers and act like we're an inconvenience. What makes this even worse is that everyone is complaining about these same front desk employees, yet the general manager of this location does absolutely nothing about it. This behavior has clearly been ongoing, tolerated, and ignored by management, which shows a total lack of leadership and accountability. To make matters worse, our clothes were stolen from this gym, and the staff showed zero concern or accountability. No empathy, no urgency, no attempt to help--just attitude. The general manager needs to seriously reconsider the staff they have hired. Some employees clearly do not know how to treat customers who are paying top dollar to be there. If you're charging luxury prices, you should be delivering luxury-level customer service--not hostility and disrespect. Corporate Lifetime Fitness should honestly be ashamed of how this location is being run. Allowing front desk employees to fight with customers and treat them poorly reflects terrible management and a complete lack of standards. Save your money and go to a gym that actually values its members--this one clearly does not. read more

This review is for Stephen Brenna, a trainer here at WC Life Time. Stephen is amazing at what he does... he is patient and took time with me to learn my goals, challenges, and make an effective personalized plan for me. I was recovering from injuries at the time, he was able to work around those and help build my muscles in order to gain my strength back. Stephen is great at helping to dial in your diet/macros as well as developing a workout plan that works for not against you. He's also an excellent running coach! I absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to level up their fitness game. The facilities at this gym are also top notch...wonderful experience all the way around. read more

You have an ENTIRE playground of EQUIPMENT and you can't flex your creative brain for a second to use literally ANYTHING ELSE!!! If I were a client UNIMPRESSED!! You're average, you can't look to your massive floor and think, "we can work this exact muscle with something else" STOP INTERRUPTING FLOW STATE! Just like your clients we without trainers have a min off rest in between our workouts too! I dare someone to genuinely respond with possible actionable solutions. I joined Life Time Fitness Walnut Creek as a founding member and expected a premium experience that matched the premium price. Unfortunately, my experience has been deeply disappointing. My coat was stolen from the facility's designated coat-hanging area, which staff and management specifically advised members to use since the location opened. This wasn't a random spot--it was the area employees told us was appropriate for personal items like coats. Despite that, my property was taken, and the response from management was dismissive and unhelpful. What's more concerning is that this is not an isolated incident. There is an ongoing theft problem at this location, with items being stolen not only from common areas but also from closed and locked lockers. Members talk about it regularly, yet management appears to be doing nothing meaningful to address the issue--no increased security, no clear accountability, and no real communication or solutions. For a gym that markets itself as luxury and charges accordingly, basic member safety and security should be non-negotiable. As a founding member, it's especially frustrating to see these problems ignored rather than taken seriously. Until Life Time Walnut Creek acknowledges and actively manages the theft issues happening on their property, I cannot recommend this location. read more

I think a lot of new people have joined the gym and the place is much much dirtier. I literally found poop on the floor of the women's bathroom today. The cleaning staff needs to be increased to keep up with the new demand. I'm not a lifetime member yet, but I really wanted to leave a review for Kirby M. because he's an amazing trainer. He has great rapport, is extremely knowledgeable, and truly takes the time to get to know his clients. He works with what you can do at the moment, meets you where you are, and genuinely motivates you to keep improving. What I appreciated most is that he's not a "one size fits all" trainer. Everything felt personalized, which made a huge difference for me. I used to hate going to the gym, but having Kirby as my trainer was a total game changer. Theft has become a constant issue, and instead of protecting the people who pay premium prices to be here, some staff members are purposefully letting non-members inside--giving thieves direct access to our belongings. This isn't just negligence; it feels like an inside job. Members have repeatedly reported stolen wallets, bags, keys, and other valuables, yet management has done nothing to stop it. With the amount we pay for membership, you'd expect top-tier security and accountability, but instead, we're left to fend for ourselves while criminals walk in and out freely. Security cameras exist, yet there seems to be no effort to track down who is responsible. If you're considering joining this gym, think twice. Until Life Time takes real action to secure the club, hold staff accountable, and prevent known thieves from entering, this place is not safe. read more

The class schedule is a mess with virtually no classes offered between 1-4 pm due to the limited daycare hours. What about the members who don't need daycare and who are not considered a "senior citizen' ... and who also want to take mid-day classes? There are no options for this group. No more cycling to make room for Pilates. Pilates cost extra btw. The massage chairs, sauna and steam room stink. The women's locker room is covered in hair. The studios downstairs also have clumps of hair in nearly every corner of the room. Childern take over the single pool every weekend for a birthday party. The basketball court has flat basketballs and messed up rims. Every "freebie" is an upsell opportunity. This gym is a joke. Once you strip down the paid add-ons... you get basic stuff (locker room, towels and standard equipment) for $329 a month. Do yourself a huge favor and shop around. Good Lord this is not just a gym. It is a complete lifestyle adventure. It's three stories tall each floor as big as a Best Buy catering to either aerobics, yoga and cycling or hard-core weightlifting or even on the top floor. They have an Olympic size swimming pool with cabanas and a bar which I'm not sure serves alcohol or just smoothies and healthy stuff But they have classes every hour on the hour seven days a week that have so far app proven to be very challenging. I resisted this place because of the cost, but when my wife joined and was able to add me for the same price, I was paying at a competitor it was really a no-brainer. Go get a free check out pass get a tour and be blown away. I'm not sure. I have enough muscles to work out at this gym, but I'm going to try. read more

I want to love this gym considering how much I'm paying for a membership but I often leave feeling annoyed about something. Pros are that the gym is new and pretty clean though I do notice most members not wiping equipment clean after using. You do get tons of nice amenities that you usually won't get at most gyms: cafe, work area, daycare, cycling studio, tons of different group exercise classes. It does make sense to cancel any other memberships you might have at different studios since lifetime will probably have a great alternative. They have a recovery area with massage chairs, Thera gun, compression leggings and my favorite, vibration plates. Cons are that there isn't tons of equipment in the weight area if there's a group exercise class going on. Example- squat racks; there's only one since the 8-10 squat racks will be used for the group exercise class. Also, there's always something broken/out of service in the spa. I mainly got a membership to use the spa: hot tub, steam room, sauna, cold plunge but something has always been broken in the 1.5 months I've been a member. It's been very annoying to go to the spa and not be able to use one of the amenities that I solely went there to use. The root top pool is always out of service too. Not much a concern now but hopefully it's good to go by summer. Hoping lifetime can have their spa permanently fixed in the near future. read more

Overall- I've been a member of this gym for several months now, and while I initially gave it some leeway due to its newness, today's experience was quite disappointing. Like others who have left negative reviews, I find the environment lacking in client-friendliness and convenience. The front desk staff should be well-informed about all the necessary rules and paperwork for guests seeking authorization to become guardians for the day. Moreover, the gym should offer more flexibility for both members and guests who wish to sign up. Transitioning to a paperless system (was initially told I must come in to complete documents until I insisted over the phone that we are in the 21th century and things can be handled electronically, especially considering I'm giving them more business by adding a member) would also greatly enhance efficiency and convenience for everyone involved. Childcare professionals - excellent: I genuinely appreciate and admire the childcare professionals onsite. Any issues with inflexibility and unclear paperwork that needed to be addressed at the front desk were not the fault of the childcare professionals. I hope that management can transition to a more paperless and flexible system for setting and implementing rules. Facilities - room for improvement: As for the facilities, I can't say they feel particularly luxurious. From the not very new appearance of the toilet stalls in the locker room to the frequent out-of-order status of the hot tubs, there are several areas that need improvement. Additionally, there are small inconveniences, such as inconsistent towel in drop-off locations, very loud music in the relaxation area with massage chairs where everyone puts on their own headsets to block out the noise, and malfunctioning body wash dispensers, that detract from the overall experience. Even the steam room, at times, lacks essential oils or emits overpowering scents that irritate members' eyes. I'm writing this review not merely to vent my frustrations, but in the hope that constructive changes can be made to enhance the overall experience for all members, especially considering the high cost of membership. I've heard from others that they preferred the experience at a Lifetime gym in another state over this one in Walnut Creek. read more

This place is huge. Recovery area is a huge plus. Plenty of space, spread out nicely, and tons of machines to use. They have a roof top pool, cold plunge (not a real one, it's like a jacuzzi sized pool with 50 degree water), basketball court, spa, multiple studios for classes of all types, and a coworking space/lounge. Parking is free for the first 3 hours which is another huge plus. They also have a kids club but I don't have kids so I didn't check it out. Seems relatively clean, though some parts of the locker room were a little dirty. Might've been from the influx of members visiting from out of town. Not sure of the demographic here but from my first visit does not seem like my type of crowd. Maybe that will change in my next visit. read more

Wait, I was coming here to go to the gym, right? Finding the front entrance from the Main Street was a bit confusing, but eventually used my intuition and figured to keep going towards the street that is connection to all of the shops. As soon as I entered, I felt like I either had walked into a luxury apartment complex, high-rise business building's main floor, or something of that nature. I was a little thrown off. I was invited to check out their space through family who are members of this sports club. The space is quite fancy, much bigger and nicer than I had expected it to be. They have a cafeteria / juice bar / store area, an actual full bar, various places to sit if you're meeting someone or need to catch a call or do something on a laptop - on the first floor. There were large TV screens that showcased today's classes by the flight of stairs that led downstairs - right before the elevators. Daycare available for anyone who has kids. Basketball court, sauna with steam, dry sauna, cold plunge pool, hot tubs, pool and additional spas on rooftop, full weight and machines floor, classes (i.e. heard pilates is an extra cost if you have a membership, you will need to pay for the special class), they had a spa area near the locker rooms where you can make an appointment for nails, hair, or a massage which I really took to a liking. You also do not need to be a member to book an appointment with them. If you do schedule something, you will be able to have access to the entire gym that same day. The basketball court was fun to use as I used to play when I was younger but had been a few years since I had tried shooting. This place definitely got crowded, so I kind of wish they had 2-3 courts for people to use. I think they also use it for pickle ball or something like that. I loved the lockers, the saunas, I wasn't in the mood to try the cold plunge or hot tub that day, but will definitely try it next time I am there! Would also like to schedule a spa service someday. I liked exploring the weight / machine floor, though for some of the machines, I wish I had known how to use them so I could try them out. I only used a few that were easy to figure out or had pictures or a guide to demonstrate. I would say... the gym membership here is worth it... for all that you have access to it is around the same price as my Pilates membership... a little less which makes me kind of want to go here and end my other one.. but there are pros and cons. I still would need to pay extra to go to their pilates class here and I'm not sure if it is with a reformer. I don't like crowded classes either, which is a reason why I did not choose to get a membership with Tru Fusion which is near Plaza Escuela. If Life Time were never really crowded - easy to use lockers, machines, weights, props, court, pool, plunges, and saunas then I would definitely say this is a great place! I just don't think it would be good for me if I had to wait to use things (lol, cause I don't like to do that). Definitely keeping Life Time in mind! My colleague recommended this place. The staff was professional and charismatic. They offer many classes and the facility is top notch. The rooftop pool is a great touch. I enjoyed the wet sauna the most. It had a hint of eucalyptus scent. There is a machine that provides body data to know what areas you need to work on. I watch the GTX class and the instructor was phenomenal. I highly recommend this place for you workout and relaxing needs. I loved it. You will too! read more

When asked where we were on the list, the rude employee at front desk tonight tells us no one has moved without even checking our names or looking. When asked if Life Time would remain a One Pass facility, his retort, and I quote "I don't make those decisions". What happened to customer service? Why is it still advertised on Lifetime's website?
