Half order Sausage Gravy & Biscuits w/ side of scrambled eggs
Rise G.

I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant and the expansive selection of meals. Invention has a diner type vibe with plenty of seating at the counter, as well as booths against the wall and tables in the middle of the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and checked in often to see if we needed anything. Meal prices are reasonable. Note that the hours listed on their website are incorrect - they close at 2 pm daily.

Excellent food and service! Tiny diner decorated with Thomas Edison memorabilia and photos and a lot of great flavor. Pancakes were out of this world. A vanilla taste to them made the overall pancakes top shelf. Also had the spicy potato mix and that too was excellent. A lot of flavor and good spice. Had banana peppers and jalopenas mixed in. Topped it off with some homemade sausage gravy. That too was perfect. Get there early and be prepared to wait! It's worth the wait for sure.

The staff was very attentive to our order. We ordered the trash potatoes that were amazing. One had added sausage gravy that was delicious! They had fresh chocolate cake on the counter looked amazing and we took a slice home. The cake was delicious and tasted like a Swiss roll.

It's me, the noob at Invention Restaurant or should I say invention breakfast spot You can tell the minute walking in this is the spot in town for breakfast. Every seat was taken and we didn't wait too long. Menu is affordable and I enjoyed the portions. Our waitress had numerous tables so I get our wait for breakfast as well. She was quick to get us refills and good on suggestions. The downside was the coffee and we had to wipe down a wet booth ourselves . Grab some breakfast or brunch !

A good small town diner, friendly service, and we had omelettes and eggs which were properly prepared. The cubed and shredded potatoes are both good. The restaurant had various seating, booths, tables and counter. They also had one large oak table for six. Being in Thomas Edison's hometown, they had photographs of many of his inventions adorning the walls.

Florentine Omelet

Great place and great food. I ordered the Florentine Omelet, great flavor and taste. The decor is a great tribute to Thomas Edison. Great service, my coffee cup was always full.

When you visit Milan, and miss this place, you may have just as well stayed home, because this place is the best breakfast spot in the world. I say this for may reasons, but mostly the feel the second you step inside. Cannot explain it more than that. Go there and you get a vive like no where else...

We found this restaurant on Yelp n had breakfast yesterday 1/3/21. Kind of a gem in Milan oh. It's a small clean family Restaurant n not too fancy. Friendly staff and delicious food. We had the veggie omelett, spicy trash hash n 2 eggs w bacon n toast. All the dishes were very tasty and the portions were good. All in all it was a good experience. If you are in the area and looking for a place for breakfast / brunch you won't go wrong visiting inventions.

Ask the Community - The Invention Restaurant

Is the restaurant still open? Yelp said it was on 6/22 at 7 pm but when we drove by it was closed.

I'm wondering if they went to earlier hours. I see on my end they have changed them till 5pm. 6/23

While on a road trip, we went through Norwalk and started looking for a place to eat. We saw the…read morereviews for this restaurant on Yelp and we thought ...Wow this place better live up to the hype! I'm happy to report that it did! As others have stated it is really beautiful. And the owner has tried to keep the updates true to the history of this building. And it has just about everything! When we first walked in, it was a very cute, cozy, Coffee Shop! Then of course you have the Main Dining room. Keep going and you'll see Dinky's their Bar which features a boat that serves as the liquor cabinet! And yet one more room for Events - holds about 50 people. Each and every room is set up perfectly for the venue it is intended for. My husband read a review about the Burger with bacon jam - so he ordered that and Loved it! I got fish and chips and they were also very good. We also got an onion rings.... they were OK - nothing to write home about. I actually really wanted a burger, but the burgers there are huge! I guess my request would be that they put a smaller burger on the menu for those of us with smaller appetites Pleeeze Our waitress was named Crystal and she was very knowledgeable about the establishment and had a very cool laid-back manner. Her friendly attitude is a real asset to Berrys. She did a great job today! I met the Owner while she was setting up the Event space for a party, and she was very nice. You can tell that she works hard there and really cares about the customer's experience. So believe the hype people and do yourself a favor and whether you want coffee or a beer or need a place for your event or just a good meal, go to Berrys on Main!

My Mr did some research on some dog friendly places and he found D & D Smith Winery. Mixed reviews but we had a feeling that it was laid back so we took a chance. He called before we headed out ( he had a couple of questions) and the owner Danielle answered and was very down to earth. We got there and the patio was shaded with picnic tables. I was very impressed with the selections of wine they had to offer. Many drys and some sweets. So we decided to get a flight: 6 for $5.00 $1.00 each for additional tastings Pinot Grigio Sauvignon Blanc Riesling Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Sangiovese Crooked House (red blend) Cabernet Franc Port Blue (port wine made from blueberries) My fave was the Cab Franc and Sauvignon that I had to get two bottles to take home. $14.00 a bottle. We didn't want to leave just yet so we decided to get a glass a piece for $5.00. I got the Sangiovese and my Mr got the Crooked House red blend. We thought about it and got another bottle to take home of the Port Blue as a dessert wine. All were so good! Besides wine this place has a lot to offer. They serve Appetizers, Meals, Soups, Pizza, Salads, Desserts, Beer, Mixed Drinks, Hard Coder, Non Alcohol Beverages (coke, sprite, Diet Coke, water, hot chocolate, tea and sparkling grape juice. The experience was great and I am so glad that we payed them a visit. I left happy and wine to take home back to Cincy.

I did have a taste of the watermelon wine. It does indeed taste like a jolly rancher. I thought that wine was delicious. But I am a sweet wine kinda person. So something needs to be said about that. I'd go back and try other wine and food. It's worth a 2nd chance. I just won't get the moscato.
