Service was good. We took our food to go and it was relatively quick, about 10 minutes. If you're looking to have a casual sit down to eat there, there's plenty of seating in the mall food court. We opted for the butter chicken kati roll and the chicken 65 kati roll. Both rolls were plentifully filled. The butter chicken roll was lacking in sauce making it on the dry side. I preferred the chicken 65 kati roll that was super flavorful and had the right amount of spice.

I've eaten at this establishment 3 times. The first time, the food was delicious but troubled my stomach. The second time it was not good enough to finish eating. The third time, I ordered a dish which was supposed to contain butter chicken. It was VERY spicy and was definitely not butter chicken. Don't get me wrong, I love spicy food. Have you ever had spicy butter chicken? The eating environment is the mall food court. On the last two occasions, the service was fine. On this last one, the staff member was rudely rushing me into ordering. Returning here is improbable because there are plenty of other choices that are steps away.

First time trying Kati roll , was pretty decent , flaky porrata, spicy chicken, located in the food court. Vege options available friendly staff.

Today, when I went to Indian plate, I finally tried Gobi 65 curry chicken, mild. Their Mango lassies were good as usual! Still Friendly service and still great ambience for a food court.

The Indian Plate at Menlo Park Mall is not too shabby for Indian food in a food court. I can't tolerate spice, however I know having the Chicken Tikki Masala is more flavorful than spicy. It's not food I'm used to but having it with rice to coat the hot feeling in my mouth I can try sometimes too. I also love basmati rice with the spices to make it flavorful. We have been here twice. Each time I have gotten the Chicken combo platter. I get Chicken Tikki Masala, Basmati rice, and chickpeas. The portions get filled up in the box. I don't like having sauce coated on the basmati rice and will tell the server to have it away from it when it gets poured. Hot and has a kick to my taste buds, I like this combination and gets very filling. Gobi 65 are cauliflower bites. It can be in your combination platter or a side dish. Service is friendly. You pay before you get your takeout order. All payments are acceptable, plenty of open seats in the mall.

I was pleasantly surprised. For one, the service deserved 5 stars. Really nice people and friendly. Wasn't really busy so I was able to get in and out which I always like. I enjoyed my food. My only critique and this has nothing to do with taste but simply a personal preference is the rice was a little soft. It still tasted good but I prefer rice to not be too soft. Otherwise, I'm happy with The Indian Plate and will gladly stop by again.

Atlast an Indian restaurant in Menlo Park mall. It's kind of like mall food but not bad . Priced ok .. and decent options for food . Service is good . Quick food preparation.. taste is not like other authentic restaurants in Edison , but not bad for a mall. Overall a good experience.. thumbs up

The worst tasting Indian food I have ever had! The employees hide in the back so you need to yell to get someone up front to help you.

So often I make plans to come to the mall just so I can get a combo plate of chicken tikka masala and gobi 65 on the cheap.

Nagpuri Saoji - Saoji Chicken curry

Saoji is a fiery, deeply spiced, mostly non-vegetarian cuisine said to have originated with the…read moreHalba Koshti weaver community of Madhya Pradesh. When the community migrated to Nagpur in 1877, their food followed -- spreading through the tradesfolk and mill workers who embraced its bold flavors. Today, Saoji is considered the signature cuisine of Nagpur: intensely spiced, unapologetically hot, and built around powerful, roasted masalas. Tonight we ate at Nagpuri Saoji in Voorhees (they also have a location in Iselin), and these two spots are reportedly the only places in the U.S. where you can experience this cuisine in its full, blazing glory. To Start We began with sabudana vada -- the classic Maharashtrian fritter made from tapioca pearls, mashed potatoes, peanuts, and spices. Served piping hot and impossibly crisp outside with a tender interior, they came with two chutneys and were absolutely sublime. Alongside that was goat sukka, a dry-style mutton preparation associated with the Mangalore and Udupi regions, with spice influences tracing back to Goa and even Arab and Turkish traders. Coriander, fennel, cumin, black peppercorns, and fenugreek give it depth and warmth. It was bold, savory, and incredibly flavorful. The Curries I ordered chicken kala masala curry, and it was deeply earthy, nutty, and robustly savory. "Kala" means "black" in Marathi -- referring both to the color and to the roasted spice blend itself. Cumin, coriander, cloves, cinnamon, stone flower, coconut, sesame seeds, and chillies are roasted and ground into a dark, complex masala that lingers beautifully on the palate. We also ordered Goat Handi, with tender meat in a velvety, aromatic gravy, and a Malwani goat curry, made with Malvani masala from the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra -- a spice blend that balances heat with coastal warmth and depth. Rice, plain naan, and indulgent Amul cheese naan rounded out the meal. Dessert We finished with Sitafal Rasmalai (custard apple-infused rasmalai) and Jamun Rabdi -- both creamy, fragrant, and perfect against the lingering spice. A Few Notes Like much traditional Asian cooking, the meat dishes are cooked on the bone -- so eat mindfully. And if you request "hot," they mean hot. This is not toned-down spice; this is the real deal. I was thrilled to try dishes from India that I've never made before. Saoji cuisine is bold, unapologetic, and absolutely delicious -- and I'll definitely be adding some of these flavors to my home repertoire. If you have the opportunity to try this cuisine -- do it.

I know it's popular for the saoji chicken but being a vegetarian I had to stick to their veggie options. I visited this place for dinner and they were out of a lot of things. I got the shegaon kachori, Misaal Pav, Tarri Poha and Sol kadhi. Shegaon kachori was the best option amongst the lot. It was super crispy and the filling was nice as well. Tarri Poha was a let down. The tarri tasted weird so it ruined the entire dish. Same tarri was present in the misaal too, so this dish was ruined too. Sol kadhi was average. The service was fast and the ambience is okay-ish. Honestly, would not recommend this place for their vegetarian options!

We always go to Sayreville restaurant but that one has so much of wait time . There was no wait time in athithya and location wise it was good. Lots of space inside to sit and dine . Ambience looked below average . Thali was about 22$ , and price wise it was ok.. service was bad. They keep the thali and go inside kitchen and don't even ask you what you want . In Sayreville restaurant they keep going around asking customers what they need and keep filling the food . We ordered a Kathiawadi thali and Punjabi thali . More than half items were common in both thalis . They had dhokla and few other Gujarati items in Punjabi thali !!! I don't know the names of the dishes but some were very oily and no salt/spice in them . Some were really good . Punjabi dhal was extra ordinary . Gujarati dhal rice was superb . Paneer items were ok . Samosa / sweet were good . Overall we had an average experience.. 3 stars

We got the Kathiyawadi and the Gujarati thali. You get complimentary sides that had pickled cabbage, peppers and red onions. They also had 3 sauces - I'm not sure what they are but one tasted like ginger candy, one mango chutney, and the last one was a savory spice dip. You start your thali with a butter milk, which I am not a big fan of. It tasted like watered down savory milk. If you're not familiar with Indian food and is just here to try the different taste, I would recommend picking between the Kathiyawadi and Gujarati thali for one, and then get the Punjabi thai. The Kathiyawadi and Gujarati tasted very similar with only 4 of the dishes being different. Ultimately they were all just different ways of preparing eggplant, chick peas, and tomatoes. The Punjabi thali might taste a bit different than the two. Overall I was a bit disappointed by the lack of variety with the vegetable and taste even though this was a vegetarian place. I think I'm also not used to Indian food and the spice so it is not for me. The staff were super friendly and patient explaining the dishes. If you like Indian this is a place not to miss!!
