Came here for Netflix Is A Joke and saw Yakov Smirnoff. Overall, pretty solid venue. The setup is good and I feel like you can get a decent view from almost anywhere in the room. Sound quality was clear and the lighting good. Servers checked in often and were mindful about not blocking people's views while taking orders, which I appreciated. They have a pretty large food menu, but I wish they had a larger beer selection. Also, prices are definitely on the higher side. There's also a 2 item minimum. One thing to note is it gets pretty cold when the AC kicks on, though it cycles off at times. Parking is either metered street parking or a paid lot across the street. Overall, a pretty standard comedy venue. Just wish the parking, food, and drinks were a bit cheaper. read more

You know what I'm a huge fan of? comedy. You know what I'm not a huge fan of? Anywhere that has "2 item per customer minimum" requirements. When you go and watch a band, you pay for a ticket and you are inside, so why when you go to an hour and a half comedy show do we have to buy 4 things in order to enjoy the show we paid for? Stupid, just stupid. Okay, moving on with the actual review. My wife and I came to The Ice House a few weeks back because Saaniya Abbas was performing and that is something we just couldn't miss. The venue itself is located in an area with tons of parking, places to eat, and desert shops so there's things to do before and after the show, which is nice. Inside the building it's super clean, spacious, and the main room has great vibes to it as well. We were seated pretty close to the stage and since we had to order things, I ordered some garlic fries and a bottle of water and let me say, as much as I wanted to regret the garlic fries they were absolutely delicious and I gobbled them up like a dog eating food it finds on the ground. The water? Well for like $10 a bottle it better of been good water. Overall, I did end up having a blast at The Ice House thanks to one of my favourite rising comedians Saaniya Abbas absolutely killing it. Will I come back in the future? Yeah, probably, and I'll complain to my wife about the minimum then too. read more

I attended a comedy show here to see Dale Elliott. Dale was amazing , nothing bad to say there! Parking; there is street parking available if you arrive earlier enough , and also there is a parking garage that this establishment shares with another establishment. Parking garage is not a far distance from the Ice House as it is on the other side of street, located about a 2-3 minute walk up. Inside: there is seating and bar when you walk inside. I bobs this establishment hosts multiple shows at a time , so once you inform the staff of whom You are seeing, they will let you know to wait at the seats or at the bar. Waiting at bar will suck , because the table seating is limited and the bar area is small. Don't buy a drink at the bar if you plan to only purchase your minimum (2 drinks) For the event. But of course if there is seating available outside the bar, you are more than welcome to sit, you just have to watch crowd. Once inside the area for the show, there's about space to hold around 100 or so people. The seating is pretty tight , so small nice. Services: the waiter/waitresses were minimal, I'm not sure if someone called out , but there were only 2 people to handle a crowd of 100+ people. We were the last to get served and we got served literally 10-15 minutes before the close of the show. I had to rate the organization of this establishment as poor. Food: the Asian wings were fuego , and the drinks were decent , liquor matched the price and can't complain about that. I'd say that if ice house can manage to have adequate staffing during shows , this would definitely increase the rating. By getting the food/drinks to customer quicker would definitely increase satisfaction. Or at least allow orders that are placed at the bar , count towards the minimum, that way food can at least have something while they wait for the waiters during the event. Honestly if this would have happened, I would have ordered more during the event. Also there should be something done about having more signage for events , so folks know where to go once inside, that was a bit confusing at first (especially for first timers like us). Restrooms were spacious and clean and I have no arguments about that. Would I attend again ? Maybe, I appreciated the intimacy of the event and that would probably be the only reason I'd return. read more

Celebrating Juneteenth with sorors, a curated menu and comedy!! The ice house was beautiful! Not sure how many rooms they have but, I saw several!! The restrooms are top tier, although!! I did have a concern if there was a medical emergency in the restroom, due to the noise of the venue and the door was not the typical door to see over the top/bottom that could be awful. Anyway, the menu had many choices and reasonable prices. All the meals came with sides and cornbread. Sadly, they ran out of cornbread!! That's why i ordered red beans and rice!! As a side to my catfish. The food was still good!! It took a while for our food to be served, possibly because of the menu items. My group enjoyed their food. read more

I used to watch some comedy show on VHI where Rosie O'donnell was the host and she would bring up comedians on stage to perform. It was filmed here, at the Ice House in Pasadena. My sister recently got tickets to a show here and said, "We're going to see Sinbad on Mother's Day." I had to triple check because last I heard he had a stroke and she said, "That's right, that's him. He's starting to do comedy again." Sinbad was our favorite comedian growing up as kids. We loved all of his movies and watched A Different World religiously and loved his character in the show. I didn't even know the Ice House was still around so this was a very full circle moment. We parked at the parking structure across the street and walked over. The place is intimate and small and that's how it looked all those years ago when I'd see it on VH1. We were the second row back from the stage and had a clear view of everything. His set was SO GOOD! We were happy to see him doing comedy again and he was just as funny, if not funnier and with more conviction, than we remember. I hope you get to see him perform there as it was truly, such a treat. read more

My husband and I attended a fundraiser at The Ice House, and we had such a nice time with the great service, good food and drinks and ambiance that we'd happily return. We easily found street parking. When you enter there is a friendly hostess at the front who told us how to get back to the main stage. On entering you'll see a wall of comedians photos that is pretty impressive. We made our way down to the entrance to the Ice Box, a private room adjacent to the stage. We were served drinks in the Ice Box, which had plenty of comfortable seating, bottled water, and drink service. I had their watermelon cocktail here, which was $17, like all of their cocktails. It was delicious, made with fresh watermelon juice, tequila, lime juice and soda water, with a slice of fresh watermelon on top. It tasted really good, but I don't think it had much alcohol in it. Next we moved into the main stage area where we first sat in a 2seater with a small table in between the chairs in the pit, but decided to move back further to get a better view and not be right in the action. The hostess was kind enough to show us where the available seats were, and she let us choose which we wanted. We chose the last row of counter seats. I think it was row W seats 17 and 18 which were just perfect for us, as the counter had a place to put our food and drinks directly in front of us, and we could see the action, but not be in the action. The seats are very comfortable by the way. The first comedian was fantastic. I wish I caught her name. I think it was Jen. Another female comedian came on after Jen and she was fantastic as well. Then Jen came back for closing. The two comedians kept us laughing throughout with their clever jokes. We ordered the Brussels Sprouts, the hamburger sliders, and fries. The bowl of sprouts was enormous, and delicious. Highly recommend. I would absolutely order them again, and there is plenty of them in one order - you could probably serve 4 people. Fries came out hot, crispy, salty and delicious. I did not try the sliders but my husband said they were good. I tried the "rising sun" drink. It was vodka, ale, lime, soda I believe and a salted rim. It was delicious. My husband had a grey goose martini which was perfect. Our server was fantastic. She helped me choose my drinks based on the fact that I didn't like anything sweet. She was very attentive and just lovely. There are plenty of restrooms. Overall, a bit hit or miss--but still a venue I'm glad Pasadena has. The Ice House Comedy Club consistently brings in some solid comedians and offers a good variety of shows, so it's definitely worth checking the lineup to find something that fits your taste. We went to see Jason Cheney, and unfortunately it seemed like an off night. At one point he even called the crowd "lukewarm," but honestly the bigger issue was that the material just wasn't landing. It happens--even good comedians have off sets--but it did take away from the experience. On the positive side, the logistics are easy. Parking is straightforward, and ticket prices are pretty reasonable compared to other comedy clubs in the area. Like most places, they enforce a two-item minimum, which is expected--but that's where things start to feel a bit overpriced for what you get. The food and drinks were underwhelming. Cocktails tasted watered down, and the food was pretty mediocre overall--not terrible, but definitely not something you'd come for on its own. It feels more like you're paying for the convenience of having service during the show rather than for quality. That said, there's still something enjoyable about the experience. The club has a nostalgic feel that reminds me of going to comedy shows years ago, and there's value in having a local spot where you can catch live stand-up without heading into LA. My friend invited me for an early bday gift as I was telling her I wanted to see Jiaoying. This was a Tuesday night on st Patrick's, 2026. We arrived early, found street parking. Our seats were right smack in the middle. Great view, until a tall guy sat in front of me, There is a two item minimum. Which is sorta dumb, but service was excellent! Very well organized. Since soda did not count as an item and I don't drink, I'm glad that they had mocktails. I got the strawberry lemonade. Came in a tall skinny glass with lots of ice for $12. I always have a great time here! Every time I'm there I say "why don't I come more often?" I came to watch a student show and it was really fun. Note that you will have to pay for parking, the lot is across the street. You will also have (2) item minimum of food or drinks INSIDE the venue, stuff at the bar before the show does not count. They take your order up front before the show starts and sneak it to you quietly while the show is happening. Service is great. All the staff is friendly and good at their job. It's a good oiled machine. The cons for me are the food and drinks but I expect very little from food and drinks at a place where you HAVE TO buy stuff...just being real The mixed drinks come pre mixed so you can't change things. My drink was super watery, tastes like cool aid. I order fries and tacos The tacos were highly recommended by the server and I knew better....i should have just ordered the fries-that never came. The tacos weren't bad, they were just not good. They are ground meat topped with cotija cheese-they were very dry. I went to see Saaniya Abbas on May 17, 2026. Sunday. Easy to get in and beside the parking being expensive (rt in the back), the atmosphere was good. The 2 order minimum was ok, but id rather not have to force myself to order anything as I was only here for the show. They dont take cash but they allowed that if I use all of my cash and no change, it was ok. I used $45 including tip for fries, 1 drink, and a souvenir soda cup. The people are nice and helpful. The show was amazing (except for the fact that the skit was the same as the ones I already saw online). I hope to visit again when another comedian I want to see comes. A friend of mine was performing at the Ice House Pasadena and I had to go! located off of the business district of Pasadena you cannot miss it with it's theatre matinee style lighting. The main lobby had a huge polar bear statue (the mascot) and a sense of humor is in the air. I waited until I got to the Ice House to purchase my ticket. Next time I'll order it in advance. The hostess behind the desk was friendly and after checking me in...brought over a guy to guide me to where my friend would be performing. The Ice House is very clean and there's other rooms where comedians were doing their sets. Once seated there were servers taking your food and drink orders. I bought some sliders and a Long Island Iced Tea. All the stand up comedians had something funny and/or relatable that made me and the many other audience members laugh. Recommend go early. Closest Parking is hard to come by and ADA spots are as well. So that was already a challenge for me to walk to the venue. I ended up in public parking in an alley and if I wasn't with a group of people I probably wouldn't have parked there alone. Just be aware if ADA is important to you or your party. The check-in process was sort of chaotic in a packed hallway. No real order to queue up to get to the rooms where you are going to see your show. The best feature I enjoyed was the patio area. There were Island artists playing local music. Fun environment and good energy. Once we were seated in the California room. Nice room, cute backdrop, lots of seating. We got our order taken. There was a two item minimum. I was with a party of four. I opted for a salad, mac n cheese and lemonade. Despite us ordering early before two parties next to is got served first. It took a while to get water and took even longer to get our food. I understand that things happen but it's hard when you are patient and then still kept waiting. Our server was nice. She was working very hard I could see that. We tipped her well for that reason. So we all ended up eating in the dark and it was pitch black. That was something I hadn't planned on but I tried to make do. I was struggling a bit and may have missed some of the jokes. The headliner Andy Bumatai and guest, Kamaka Brown were hilarious. On our most recent visit, we caught Island Magic Mike from Hawaii--he was hilarious and spot-on with all the Hawaiian stories and jokes. It's great to see the space refreshed with upgraded chairs, tables, and even a new menu. I also love that the old two-drink minimum has been updated to a two-item minimum, so you can order food instead. My favorite comedian has a comedy show at this comedy club, so I decided to buy a ticket to come watch her. This comedy club is very cool. Decoration gave me a very cold and icy vibes. So very close, as I happened to have a front row table and the table was touching the stage and found neighboring tables chairs to have little wiggle room where your sitting next to each other. I find the combos offered to not be much of a deal, for example there was a drink for two that was just in a larger cup but the same price as two drinks by themselves. I was there when there was a kitchen fire, so unfortunately there was no food service and cannot comment on the quality of food. There two signature drinks served at the time, Summer Blues (Blueberry infused gin, lemon juice and lavender) and Fire Alarm (Mezcal, cachaca, aperol, lime, ginger syrup, pineapple juice and fire tincture). I preferred the Summer Blues drink as the flavor was fruity and light, very easy to drink and something I ordered again. The Fire Alarm was ironic due to the kitchen fire but was not the flavor profile I like it is aptly named due to the smokey Mezcal. Came here for comedian, Jason Cheny. The show and venue itself was just OK. They kept the comedy room doors open so you could constantly hear noise from those outside in the waiting area. There is signage saying not to heckle or shout out during the comedy acts, which made it pretty difficult for Jason Cheny who does a lot of crowdwork to get anything aside from a lukewarm response from the crowd. Recently visited The Ice House to watch a comedy show that a friend performed in! In the room we were in, you could easily see the stage from all the seats. Some tables/sears felt pretty close together though, and the tables are a bit small if you order food. For our show, each person had to order 2 items from the menu, so we got a mix of drinks and food. I wanted the BBQ short rib sliders, but they were out for the day. I got a chance to check out The Ice House in Pasadena with some colleagues last month. My first time here. I didn't know what to expect because I normally don't go to comedy clubs. I found out some shows are free with a minimum of two drinks purchase and other shows require tickets to be purchased. The front lobby has some fun customes and a spinning thing that you may stand on. It also has the huge white bear statue... nice photo op! As you walk in, there are framed photos of comedians who have performed at this comedy house. I recognized a handful of them... sweet! They have a bar with inside seating and also outside patio seating. The bartenders were friendly and very quick in making the drinks. I loved the spicy mango virgin margarita! It was so good... spicy and sweet at the same time! I may have to come back just to buy the drink times 2 LOL. They have a food menu with appetizers and snacks. There are two stage rooms. I only went into one of them. I don't remember which one, but I'm sure I took a photo of it. We had 3 comedians for the show. I really like the 3rd one. The first one was decent. However, the second one struggled a bit. Sorry, I don't remember their names. I got some good laughs. What I learned is that the comedians must leverage the audience's positive energy to really do well on stage. Otherwise, it may be tough and lack substance. I applaud all the comedians for trying because our crowd was small. There wasn't a lot of energy in the room at the time. I was so fortunate to attend a live taping of the Mas Locos Comedy TV Show. What a night, the MC was Jeff Garcia. We saw Abraham Boche, Ernesto Ortiz, Jose Velasquez, and Sebastian Cetina perform and showcase their talents. If do not recognize these names, it's alright, by this time next year you will know them. In Spring 2025 Mas Locos will release a new season. Our usher was Andrew, he was able to get our group of 8 seated in the same section. Even though a couple were late, they were able to join us. Buy tickets on their website, subscribe to receive updates and discounts to special shows. A two "item" purchase per person is required. Your two "items" does not have to be an alcoholic beverage. Choose specialty cocktails, beer, wine, soft drinks or food (pizza, sliders, tacos, chicken wings, garlic fries, etc.). Check the website, make plans for fun night with family and friends.
