Great room for comedy & sipping drinks in a cool alien/space theme spot! They have several ticketed comedy shows making it a great little date night spot! Also, there's a variety of open mics weekly that you can check out on their Instagram. I like that their drink menu has soju + a lot of other alcoholic & non-alcoholic drink options. Great place to come for enjoying comedy shows and mics where you can either hang out at their bar or sit in the audience. I think they have karaoke here sometimes too! The owner is very chill too, if you ever get a chance to meet her! My tip: Be sure to check out their vending machine for some cool & funny astronaut themed snacks & novelty items! ‍

If you've lived in LA long enough, you know the BEST spots are almost always hidden in a strip mall. It's peak, Southern California experience: incredible food next to a hidden comedy club you'd never find unless someone cool told you about it. The comedy room is intimate, the crowds are great, and the interior feels like an immersive art exhibit. It has that rare feeling that you're in on a secret.

Astronaut City is out-of-this-world!!! This bar/comedy club has everything that you want! Fantastic lighting, theming, welcoming and positive environment, super star entertainment, a fabulous atmosphere, happy staff, and a kind and thoughtful owner. This spot is where it's at. I can see Astronaut City being the next big thing when it comes to comedy clubs in LA. They are new(er) and making the best moves when it comes to creating the best environment. All comedians that perform at Astronaut City are absolutely hilarious! The owner picks the best people to perform and the shows are sometimes free! Once you're in Astronaut City, you'll know you're in a majestic environment. Drink selection is fantastic and they have free stickers and pens!! Don't sleep on Astronaut City! Come see some comedy in a space that you'll want to come back over and over.

This place is a good vibe! Really cool, cozy place to chill and watch a comedy show or sing some karaoke with friends for a birthday party. I like how it feels like a dive bar in a strip mall, but it's anything but old and dingy. Everything feels like it's pretty new. It's astronaut-themed and they have a few novelty space decorations but it isn't overly done in a cheesy way. Would take a date here and hang for a drink. Bartenders are cool. Plenty of parking. And if anything, the bathrooms are super updated and clean. THANK GOD!!! Only food options are in a vending machine (with astronaut food in it! lol) but you can eat beforehand at quite a few food options in the same strip mall, then come over afterwards and laugh it off. No draft beers but a decent selection of canned and bottled drinks. And they have a bunch of free pens on the bar you can take! Will be back often!!!

My partner and I wanted something different to do for a date night on Friday instead of our usual dinner routine. We heard about Astronaut City opening up in Arcadia and decided to check it out. The staff at the front door were super friendly right off the bat, which is always a good sign for a nightlife spot. The layout inside is really nice. It feels upscale but relaxed at the same time. We got a table near the side and looked over the cocktail menu, which has a lot of creative options. The drinks came out quick and they were mixed right. The entertainment is what sets this place apart from other spots in the San Gabriel Valley. They had a live comedy show first. The lineup of stand-up comics they had on stage was great, everyone in the room was laughing. I didn't recognize some of the names, but everyone there was really funny. I haven't laughed like this in a while. Usually I have to go to LA to see comedy shows like this, but this was fantastic. Right after the comedy wrapped up, they transitioned into a karaoke lounge. And it was FREE which was mindblowing. The place across the street was charging like $40 for karaoke. The crowd changed a bit but the energy stayed awesome. They have a huge song selection and the microphones actually sound good. It's just a really fun atmosphere overall. Arcadia usually shuts down pretty early so having a legitimate local bar with great entertainment that stays open late is a massive win for the area. If you are looking for unique things to do on a weekend with a crowd or just a casual night out, this place hits the spot. We're already planning to bring a bigger group next time.

By the time we got to the parking payment portion of this line we were advised that there was a huge call out from staffing that created this dilemma. The worst part was that when the supervisor of this event asked management (who btw is not onsite, but is somewhere else remotely) how many staff members can be called in last minute and management did not even think to consider that nor even attempted to call around to fine replacement. That was told to us from the supervisor. After waiting 2.5 hours, they didn't know how to crowd control people who have already purchase parking tickets and those who will be paying for last minute parking. If it was up to me, I would've provided complimentary parking to not disappoint more guests. The event itself was fine, but I will be honest after that experience my vision of the lights didn't see the magic so take that with a grain of salt. There was nothing special for us, we felt it was a waste of money even though we got the gold pass to exclusive date selection. Everything inside the event literally costs extra money if you wanted to to more than just walk around. We probably won't be considering on going back here anytime.

Tickets - $43 x2 - General Admission = $86 $15 x2 - Ice Skating = $30 $25 - Parking $15 x1 - Snow Slide $7 - Service Charge Discounted $8.60 = Promo Code Grand Total = $154.40 -- PROS -- Christmas Lights Maze - It's pretty big, could walk through for an hour or so. Plenty of spots for cute and glamorous photos. They did a pretty good job with the lights, design, and colorway of most of the lights. My wife and I got plenty of photos and we were most excited for the dangling lightbulbs. Very cute overall and certainly the spot most people were at for photos. -- CONS -- Parking was pretty confusing, the only guidance is to enter via gate 3. All other areas are fenced off and you could get lost without any signs pointing towards the correct gate. Lots of improvements could be added to smooth the parking situation. Ice Skating was fun as my wife and I had plenty of cute moments. It's one of the main attractions here at Enchant which attracted a huge crowd. The course itself is pretty cute but it was most certainly overcrowded. Also pretty nice for some photo opportunities. In the lobby of the ice skating rink, you're able to put your shoes and belongings in a open box....which is not really ideal but you have no other choice. There's no security at all for your belongings, very easy for others to just siphon away your shoes, etc. Not very ideal. One frustrating part that we encountered was the snow slide. When purchasing, we bought just 1x QTY as it states, "3 rides per snow slide ticket." So in my mind, it was deciphered as "then both of us can go once and we'll have an extra for whoever wants to go for a extra time." We were very much wrong as it's only for one rider that can go 3 times maximum. I ended up giving the ticket to my wife as I wanted her to enjoy the snow slide. The slide itself last around 10 seconds, and you just drag the seat pillow back up to slide again. Pretty disappointing overall but it should be more clear to avoid confusion like this. -- Consensus -- Overall, some good parts, and many bad parts about Enchant. It was certainly overcrowded on some points of the exhibition, the high ticket prices are certainly a look away. Getting the ticket itself only allows entrance and for the maze. Rest is pretty much paid as a addon to your experience. Although my wife and I had a decent time, I would say that it's worth it if you can afford it, and to experience it once at least. Otherwise, there are other spots that have Holiday lights that are more organized.

Despite their proximity, it's hard to believe that these events could exist in the same universe, as the two events could not be more different. While the former is overcrowded and unruly, the latter is relatively low-key and calm. Thus, if you're looking for a fun experience but not enthused about battling pushy people and lengthy lines, I'd highly recommend checking out Cal Phil's Festival on the Green. Since this is THE Cal Philharmonic Orchestra, the excellence of the music is indisputable. But, the selection of pieces could probably have been improved to better fit the advertised theme. For a concert entitled "Lights, Camera, Action," I expected more music from iconic movies, as we only heard one piece from Hercules, Jurassic Park, Lawrence of Arabia, Psycho, and Star Wars. Other selections, such as Korngold's Violin Concerto and Shostakovich's Symphony #5, were beautiful, but were less engaging given their disconnect from the night's theme. (The programs for the other concerts in the series seemed to feature a mix of pieces as well, but I can imagine that the musical / pop-oriented concerts allow for more crowd participation.) The setup of the venue is pretty straightforward: closest to the stage are tables; behind the tables are rows of benches; and further back is the eponymous green. While you could score seats closer to the stage, I'd recommend choosing the cheaper lawn seats, as this is the perfect spot to have a boozy picnic with friends before the concert. Just don't forget the corkscrew! Although lawn chairs are helpful, they are certainly not needed as long as you bring blankets or towels to sit on. There is a slight berm along the edges of the venue, so if you want to be elevated / avoid having someone stick their chair right in front of you, then arrive early to stake your spot! We arrived at approximately 6PM and most of the elevated lawn spots had already been claimed. Tickets can be purchased online via Cal Phil or Goldstar. If you choose to purchase food at the venue, you do have several options in the form of food trucks serving ice cream, sliders, and Cajun fare. Obviously, this can't compete with the fare you'd find at the Night Market. And, if you don't bring enough libations, there is a bar that sells various forms of booze, including entire bottles of wine. There is ample parking is available through Gate 6. It costs $15 per car, so it's definitely worth it to carpool. You probably could walk over from somewhere with free parking, but it would certainly take you awhile, especially if you have lots of stuff to carry. Definitely check out Cal Phil's Festival on the Green if you're interested in a fun experience with family and friends. Even if the music isn't your cup of tea, you'll have fun being outdoors and picnicking in good company!

Parking is easy and the departure from the lot is easy. Great food and bar. Overall, a fine example of the arts in SoCal. Admittedly, this is a scaled-down version of the Hollywood Bowl experience, but not very scaled down on price with good seats at the A, B and C tables going for $90-120 each and parking at $14. Still, 4-5000 people show up every two weeks during summer. Last night's performance was underwritten by Smith Brothers Restaurants in Pasadena Current Developments in the Financial picture. The orchestra and management ratified a two-year Agreement in June of 2013, including an increase in wages. Rehearsal scale went from $114 to $116 in the first year, to $116 to $119 in the second year. Health & Welfare contributions also went from 7% to 8% for the duration of the agreement. The orchestra suffered a massive meltdown in the 2012 season, finishing the year owing musicians over $120,000 for three unpaid concerts; management also reneged on their obligations to make payments to the Health and Welfare Fund and the Pension Fund. After a protracted legal fight, including grievances and filings with the National Labor Relations Board, an agreement was reached in May that made all payments owed to the musicians, including late payment penalties, H &W and Pension Fund payments and work dues.

The website says the show is 25-30 minutes? Seriously, no. We started at 8:01 pm this was when we woke the baby up to see the lights and we were done by 8:13 pm. 12 minutes? What a joke. The lights were cool but some of them were broken, kind of ruined the effect for some of the areas, for the price I would at least expected it to be maintained better for the length of their show. Two Sundays ago, my husband and I decided to check out this new claw machine place since we were waiting for our table at Boiling Point (Boiling Point is definitely very busy on a Sunday afternoon. If you go, make sure to sign up for a table right away). We walked over and an employee opened the door for us. We asked her if they were open and she said yes. The time was just a little after 1 pm. Because this was during their grand opening special (it was from June 1- 15), we were able to take advantage of their promotion. The first 20 people of the day can get 5 free tokens with purchase of any tokens. The lady actually told us that she would give us 6 tokens. For the most part, it appears that each of the claw games are 2 tokens each. I have never been good at any of these type of games but we thought it would be fun to play. So my husband ended up purchasing 10 tokens for $5 (and with the 6 we got for free, we were able to play 8 games). My husband was very lucky to win a napa cabbage stuffed toy on his first try but then lost thereafter (lol). The claw would pick up the toy but then drop it right before it would fall into the drop or shoot so it was quite a sad rejection for my husband (I didn't bother to try to play any because I know I can't win these things and also I feel that these type of games are rigged). There were a variety of stuffed toys that you could win, which included some Disney related ones (from Toy Story, but unfortunately those machines were not working on our visit), broccoli, a stuffed cat that looked like a purse, bunny, seahorse and also some smaller stuffed toys near the front counter (also worth 2 tokens to play). The place itself is small. I have seen a few other claw machine places that are bigger. But I think people just come and go rather quickly (as we saw more and more people slowly coming in, most likely probably waiting for their table at Boiling Point too). In the end, we walked away with our napa cabbage stuffed toy and enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to play while we waited for our table, making the time go by faster.

My 1.5-year-old toddler had her very first claw machine experience at Claw Claw, Arcadia…read more With 100 tokens and not-so-great skills , we still managed to get 9 toys! The store is super trendy and the pricing is great -- just 2 tokens per game on all machines. They even have the newest Labubu plushies, and you can exchange the ones you win for bigger prizes! We're so proud of her willingness to share her plushies with others when she got home -- but we think her favorite is definitely the Winnie the Pooh bag, which she refuses to share

We had a excellent and wonderful time. And each at least got to sing 30 songs. 2. I got to sing to a lot of Backstreet Boys and Nsync songs. It brought back memories of high school. TCHS Class of 2001. I feel old for saying that. But I am not that old. 3. As for my Mom. She got to sing a handful of songs and she had a excellent and wonderful time. 4. Till next time. Even though it says cash in their name, you can pay with card! LOL…read more For a KTV place near home (I normally go to OC for my go-to place!) it wasn't bad! It's in a small plaza - at night there's plenty of parking When you go into your KTV room it's clean to say the least. You can tell that the room has seen many performances in there. The mic would keep turning it self off and you would have to click it to turn back on. The selection of music was nice, up to date and you have the option to play music from YouTube. Didn't have a chance to try their food or drinks since we ate before we came but prices look a bit high for certain items. Like a plate of oranges for almost $15?? I can go to Costco and buy a 5lb bag for $6! Rooms look nice (had the small room) just wished they had more stalls for bathrooms, literally only 2 private restrooms for men and females so there could be a line when you really need to go other than that it wasn't bad here!
