I had originally found a dance teacher through Groupon but the lesson was very random and didn't really have any choreography! So I was even MORE stressed after our first lesson as I felt I had learned nothing! I then assigned my fiancé to find a new dance teacher. Thankfully he found Elena who uses Lai lai dance studio which is walking distance from our apt in downtown Alhambra ! Her rates are the same as anywhere else (and she gives a discount if you buy a package of 3 or 5 etc) My fave thing about Elena is she immediately knew what we wanted. She listened to the song we chose thoroughly and asked us some questions to get to know us and she helped us choreograph a cute routine that went along with the song. Keep in mind we've only had one lesson but we've already learned about 1 min of our song!! Thankfully we want a short routine but she's really good at giving us ideas and getting our feedback about what we feel comfortable with and what we don't like so I really appreciate that!! She also doesn't pressure us to have a certain number of lessons. She understands that we're gonna busier as the wedding approaches! I really appreciated that. Anyways I would definitely recommend Elena to all my friends who need a dance teacher !! I'm excited for our second lesson!

It was here where I introduced bowling to my mom and we come back every year to bowl as a family. When we arrived, it was only a 10 min wait and staff were really nice to squeeze us in since it was pretty a packed house at 10 am! Things were nicely renovated and the AC was a comfortable cool to escape the heat. Snack bar was open but we didn't get anything. I do miss the foozeball table, air hockey, and the few arcade games that lined the hallway at the prior establishment. Despite the gutterballs, we all had a great time and thank you for keeping this place alive and going. We'll certainly be back again!

TLDR: Improved technology, more modern look, still affordable…read more I had been meaning to check out this newly reopened bowling alley for a while now, so I'm glad I finally got to go! I'm not sure if it's being run by the same owner or if someone else took over, but the building looks much more modern now. It's a little bittersweet to see all the nostalgic pieces of my childhood gone, but it's hard to deny that it's for the best. Prices were still pretty affordable. The staff member let us know that there's a cheaper deal on weekdays, which is pretty normal for bowling alleys. There is clearly a lot more seating on the top floor. The addition of all the tables is really nice. I also noticed that they removed the extra TVs that used to either play ads or sports and stuff. They also got rid of all the pool tables that I never saw anyone use. The screens and control panels are all updated to this modern design too. Something else that was interesting was how the old bowling ball racks were moved to the side of the building to make room for bag hooks behind the people bowling. Although it's a good idea, it's kind of hard to watch your belongings when they're behind you like that, so it leaves your stuff kind of open for stealing. It's also easier to grab the bowling ball you need though because they're all in one place instead of spread across the whole building. The only thing that I kind of hate is the seating down by the alley. There's actually less seating down there with these standalone dining table sets replacing the old benches. Since our party arrived when there were many other people there, we only had one side of the lane while strangers were on the other side. It's just a little awkward to sit at a dining table with strangers like that. Not to mention, the seating arrangement left a lot of people standing and kind of made it hard to communicate with each other. In terms of bowling mechanics, I think the amount of time it takes for the bowling ball to return has been reduced significantly. I'm so glad we don't have to wait ages for the ball to return for the second throw! The machine also didn't seem to experience incorrect racking, which used to happen all the time here. Sadly, the screen does not tell you the mph your throw was at anymore. I always thought that was a very helpful feature, so it's a shame to see it go. Lastly, the floors seemed well cleaned and waxed. I didn't have to powder my shoes and felt like my bowling ball glided pretty smoothly down the alleyway. Overall, I think this bowling alley is nice. I'm glad to have an alley that's close to my house again!

Even when I added extra furniture the week of they were super accommodating which I appreciated -- but there were a few hiccups along the way. The day before we were given a delivery window - they showed up about 2 hours early, and I was not home yet to meet them. Not knowing anything about what I needed my husband told them to put everything in our backyard. I came home to a stack of high top chairs about 12-14feet high and plastic wrapped. I know this is how they travel, but it would have been nice if they were left in more realistic stacks. Even on a stepping stool I wasn't tall enough to get them unwrapped and down. Then when night came about 2-3 pieces weren't lighting up. I called the next day (the day of the event) and thankfully they were able to send a friend who was coming this way out to replace the pieces. She was super helpful and lovely. As frustrated as I was that pieces weren't working, this extra effort really helped. But then after the party the following Monday the delivery crew again showed up hours early. They didn't even let us know they were there, they just let themselves into our yard took the furniture and left. Had they come when scheduled and let me know they were here I had tip money for them! While I appreciate them not asking for the tip I don't think they should just silently take the furniture. I had a heart attack when I saw it was gone and then had to check the cameras to confirm it wasn't stolen. Also what if our dogs were in the yard? Next time, definitely let people know you're there! Also knocking off one more star because by 10 pm (and the furniture was turned on at about 5:50) 3 more pieces had died and were no longer lighting up including one of the pieces that was replaced that morning. I'm glad the party was full so no one really noticed, but since I paid for light up furniture it was disappointing to have so many issues with it .

She was thorough, polite, professional and creative. We got compliments from just about everybody who attended. I really don't have anything to compare her prices to, but we thought it was fair for the quality and service. Booking was quick and easy and she communicated before, during and after. We wanted balloon decorations, but she does all types of party decor. I'm sure we'll have more events that will need centerpieces or focal areas and Laura will be on our short list of party and event decorators.
