First, very nice customer service. :) Second, a relatively large menu to choose from. Third, very reasonable prices. Lastly, everything was friggin delicious! Lol. Tried the tofu green curry, ordered spicy. "Are you sure?" with grin. 'Yes!" Flavor bomb, not too spicy. Everything balanced, total perfection, and very large serving size. Honestly, enough to share for two with an app - or leftovers, personally love! The chicken satay appetizer (not on regular menu) was cooked fantastically, very juicy, peanut sauce nomnomnomnom, and came with four large skewers. $8! Yay! The crab rangoons were honestly the best I've ever had in my life, and that's saying something. I have had hundreds. These were plump and generously filled with delicious crab cheese mix, not greasy, totally smashable. Not just fried wonton with a pinch of filling. Overall, I highly recommend you run, don't walk. Just please be careful not to trip. ;) I'm definitely returning to work my way through the entire menu. Happy happy!

It's a BBQ truck & on a Saturday evening they had ALL MEAT ready! Nothing was out so we had our pick. We ordered the 2 meats and 2 sides plate to share with brisket, pulled pork, mac & cheese, and scalloped potatoes. Favorite part of the dish was by far the brisket which was close to perfect. Pulled pork was seasoned with peppers or something, so found it a little distracting. But everything was good. Service was great, we ordered at the truck & they brought it to us at the bar next door, which has seating, twinkle lights, and on Sat college football all around. A very good austin BBQ spot - would like to try more of their meats to taste it all.

I was…read morevery excited to try some great bbq at one of the most highly rated food trucks on Yelp and by others. It's about 25 minutes over curvy roads thru the hills outside of Austin central metro area. I was glad that I went because I've been to Austin many times yet had not been northwest of the city. I tried many items. The sides were only $4 for the "small" portions (which weren't that small), so I tried all of them. The mac and cheese cork screw pasta was especially delicious. In fact, every side was delish and decadent. The jicama cole slaw was good and crunchy, the scalloped potatoes delish, the sriracha cole slaw had a good kick. I also liked the green chili corn and the pinto beans (very hearty). There was a side of pickle chips and onions. Now for the most important part, the brisket. It had a delicious bark on it, but it was just a bit dry. When I told my native Austinite friends this later, they all got very quiet ;). I believe that perhaps the truck makes the meat every other day, and I was there on the second day and so the meat got a bit dry (I'm being purely speculative about this and could be wrong). But it was still amazing! The special that day was "The Volcano Sandwich" (see photos) with brisket, potato salad, bacon jam, jalapenos, and pepper vinegar sauce on a hamburger bun. By the ingredients list, I thought it would be spicy, but it really was not. It was excellent. I also got the straight slices of brisket in its purest form. Again, delicious but a bit on the dry side. I also opted for some pork and got the Maui Waui Taco with pulled pork, pineapple pico de gallo, and chipotle sour cream. It was very tasty and I recommend it for the pork. It had a good kick and just sweet enough, but too much so. I was unsure whether Jim's Smokehouse had a second location along Barton Springs Road in Austin because it was listed on the web. I tried calling a few times to get more information, but got voicemail both times. I confirmed later that, as of this writing, the dt Austin location was closed down. Jim's Smokehouse is co-located with a few other food trucks. There are picnics tables, shaded in the back and a ping pong table. That day, I was served by Cecil? who was incredibly friendly and very welcoming. Such a nice guy. He brought all the food out to me along with the entire napkin holder. He appropriately waited for about 15 minutes to bring me the dessert which was the Keylime Pie with strawberry sauce (on the side). I tell you the pie was fantastic - get it! I think Jim's Smokehouse is 5/5 overall. I would go again in a heartbeat.

Thing Two ordered the nachos at the suggestion of another customer who was raving about the order he picked up. After we ordered, it took about 5 minutes for us to get our order. The nachos were heavier on the cheeses than on the carnitas. The hefty cheese took away from the carnitas which was unfortunate. Overall, this was on okay execution of nachos but not ones that I would seek out in the future. $8.50 before tip

If you live in Texas you have to know your taco spots and I'm happy I tried this one. Here's what I had: Pirata - Good amount of sirloin steak, cooked well with onions and cheese on a flour tortilla. This was the second best of what I had. El Capitan- This is the one! If you get anything on this menu, get this! Of all the tacos I tried on the menu, this one stole the show! The shredded pork melts in your mouth. Paired with cheese on a flour tortilla. This was taco heaven! Chicken taco- Underwhelmed with this one. Flavor was lacking and it was just ok. Gringa taco- Standard pastor meat on a flour tortilla. Nothing stood out about this one. Price was higher than what I like for 1 taco ($7-8). Standing in line also took a while, then the wait was quite long but the food was good. Overall, worth a try if you're in the area. The atmosphere is definitely worth it as Field House bar is cool.

Honestly, some of the worst I've ever received at any establishment. Common to sit at a table for thirty minutes+ before anyone even greets you, or wow...serve you. Be prepared to sit and watch the waitresses hangout with other tables and chit chat away. Catch their eye and wave them over, perhaps? Sure, but you're still going to have to wait until they're ready. The outdoor tabletops are always filthy. Yay for me for being so tolerant and prepared based on previous visits, I always make sure to carry wet wipes. Once again, when finished, the cloth was covered with brown dirt and food remains. The food is right on par with public high school cafeteria fare. No. Actually, maybe middle school quality. Funky tasting burgers. Meh. Anything and everything fried tastes exactly the same. I don't think they've changed the oil in since they opened many years ago. No joke. I can't help to feel a little bit sad as this is probably the most scathing review I've ever written. A very cool place. *…read more* * Four Points has developed multiple food court locations around the intersection of 620 and 2222. One of them is the heavily Colombian food court where Ninja Chicken is located. One Colombian group seems to own multiple food trucks in the court - even though the truck names are different and the menus are different. Cooks go back and forth between the related trucks bringing supplies. All of the relevant personnel are Colombian. If they are as good as Ninja Chicken, they are fine fine trucks. * * * How Colombian is Colombian here? a) This is a Spanish only location. The truck signs are in English and that is where the English stops. When I ordered in English, it was clear nobody was understanding me. (They were trying hard). I got the wrong thing. Fortunately the wrong thing was wonderful. (Fried cheese pastries with strawberry dip.) I was happy to have the pastries. b) There are many many Colombians here eating. I only saw one other Anglo person - a middleaged Texas lady linked to the relevant church. (More on the church later). c) ON SATURDAY AFTERNOONS, THERE IS A COLOMBIAN BAND PLAYING TROPICALE. Keep in mind that food trucks in South America often come with entertainment. Entertainment is often a guy with an electric console and a ton of loops playing whatever instruments he knows how to play with synthesized backup. That's what this guy was doing. He was good on all of his instruments. I could have listened all day. d) Some of the trucks are associated with El Camino, a Spanish language church on 620. There was a giant pavilion with El Camino signs on the pavilion. There were people wearing El Camino badges in case you wanted to have a dedicated conversation about Christianity. Most of the El Camino people were Colombians. They had an Anglo lady in reserve in case you needed to talk about Christianity in English. El Camino has a very cool slogan " The perfect church for imperfect people." That slogan is right up there on the truck. * * * Good Colombian food. Good Colombian music. Colombian families everywhere. This could have been Queens New York - the epicenter of American Colombian food. Except everything else was Texan. Check the place out. Bring your Spanish dictionary to help with the ordering.
