We had stopped here the day before after hiking for shakes and thought the menu looked good, so we stopped the next day for a late lunch. Like so many other places in the area you order from a counter and then sit and wait to pick up your food. Our group had a cheeseburger, BLT, kids cheese quesadilla and the Glacier Dip. The BLT and Glacier Dip were awesome. The kids said their cheeseburger and quesadilla were ok. Of course we had shakes again too. The shakes were perfection! Prices were good for the food, I think the drinks (iced tea, lemonade and a soda) were expensive at $4 each. I don't think they offered refills either? As is always the case at these types of places I am never sure if we are meant to bus our own tables or not? Anyways I would definitely recommend a stop here! read more

We stopped for a bite to eat on the way back from GNP. It is quite a busy tourist stop with an attached gift shop which is nicely appointed. Plenty of food gifts and other souvenirs to choose from. This is a stand in line and order type restaurant. We walked in, grabbed menus and ordered our food. The long line went quickly which was nice. You take a number to a table and wait for the number to be called. They do not bring out your food, you grab it from the counter. I ordered the original classic cheeseburger with onion rings. They have a separate spot to grab condiments and toppings for the burgers and sandwiches. Overall my cheeseburger was tasty. They don't cook to order which is disappointing as I would have preferred a medium burger but it did not taste overdone. The onion rings were crispy and well seasoned. We ordered the slice of huckleberry pie to share. It was super sweet, delicious. The crust was more moist than flaky but overall pretty tasty. The restaurant was clean and staff seemed efficient. The restrooms were located in the back of the gift shop and were clean. I thought it was a good spot to stop after visiting the park. read more

There are couple burger options in the menu seems popular that everyone is ordering, i tried their mountain heat burger. I didnt get the HEAT with my burger, some pickled jalapeno inside that are not really spicy. my partner got the upgrade to bison burger, the patty doesnt teaste much difference. there's a station you can add extra union, cucumber and tomato to your burger as much as you want without a surcharge. their huckleberry ice cream is actually really good, i tried different places in the area and the huckleberry icecream here has most intense flavor. read more

After a morning hike decided to stop here for a quick lunch. There was nothing quick about it, in fact we didn't even get our lunch because they lost our order and we had to be refunded. Upon receiving the refund noticed the kitchen help was eating in the kitchen, unsanitary 1 and 2 probably wolfing down our lunch after we'd been waiting an hour and a half. People who ordered after of us got their food way before us. When we asked what the hold up was, server was extremely careless and rude, claiming they were busy and it would take awhile. I'm sorry, but it should never, in any scenario, take way over an hour to make two wraps. This place serves good food especially the buffalo burger! Yum! Upon entrance of the Grill spot there's a sign to take a menu & find an available seat which proves to be a little confusing for some, but you eventually just figure it out....sit where there is no table top sign! Once we figured that out we viewed the menu & ordered at the counter. They have: burger, fries, fried picked, grilled cheese etc. The wait was about 15 minutes, food comes in baskets and a condiment bar is located in the main restaurant area. Seating is in two separate rooms high top bar seating, booths and table/ chairs close to ordering area. It's fairly big inside. Ordered: Bacon blue burger (bison addition), Patch's special w/ fries, fried pickles, kids burger and grilled cheese. All the employees were working really hard and wiping down tables-it was busy tourist season. Afterwards we tried the dessert area and ordered Huckleberry everything! Huckleberry was very good, ordered their shake, pie a'la mode and ice cream. Great spot to visit after visiting Glacier National Park. Stopped on our way out of Glacier, thinking we'd grab a quick burger. The gift shop and layout are quite well done. Lots of good stuff to spend your tourist dollars on. I recommend stopping to look it over. The Good - The burger was surprisingly good. Delicious and perfectly cooked bacon cheeseburger. And the fries were good. The Meh - Everything about the ordering process was just poorly done. All 'self service' and instructions aren't really well posted. We, and everyone else who walked in over the 30 minutes, looked around and finally found menus and stood around and then milled back to find the instructions. Oy. Staff wasn't providing any guidance. The Bad - Add to the 'self serve' style, the "Give A Shit Factor" of the staff approached zero like a cougar sneaking up on a gazelle. We were looking for food after a morning of hiking in Glacier National Park, and this place hit the spot! We were drawn in by the fact that it's been there since 1949, thinking that it must be good to have lasted that long. When you walk in, it's a really large store-think a souvenir shop mixed with the Cracker Barrel store. The restaurant is kind of small and gets busy, so be warned. I wanted to get something huckleberry since it's the thing in Montana, so I got the Original Classic burger. The huckleberry bbq sauce was so good! I can definitely see why it's so popular. Nicely remodeled restaurant close to the glacier national Park entrance. this is a very well set up diner....where you order, self seat and they bring out your food. we had the monte cristo sandwich and a side salad, both were fresh and delicious. Our group also had hamburgers and they were very good. Sometimes you can get a Montecristo sandwich where it's too greasy, this one was not, it was so good. Service was fast and smooth and handled the after dinner it's really hot out ice cream rush. They have a small variety of ice cream options but they do all kinds of different food options. Terrible in service, food quality, and pricing! Went three times during my stay in Hungry Horse. I went the first time to check for souvenirs. The second time was for ice cream. The cone was already cracked but the kid still used it. The ice was already melting and leaking down the cracked side when he handed it to me. Had to inhale the ice cream in 3 minutes before it fell off the cone and leaked all over the napkins. Stupid! The third time was to get a piece of huckleberry pie Togo. OMG! The slice was literally becoming mush because the pie crust was pathetic. The size of the slice was a joke! The taste was alright but didn't make me want another one. Don't go here. I ordered online some cherry syrup and 3 tins of the cherry tea. It took a week to get my items, 3 days later that i was told it would take, but when i finally got my box, they sent 3 tins of wild huckleberry tea, not the flathead cherry. I have been emailing and calling since Saturday, and so far the only communication i have received from them was an email with my tracking number. I have the shipment, but not what i ordered. I can't seem to get any one to respond to the fact that they sent me the wrong stuff. Very very poor costumer service to be sure. After a long weekend in Glacier National Park, this was the perfect treat as we hit the road. Strongly recommend the drive out of the park to get good "regular priced" food. Their sign states they speak Huckleberry... very very true. Hands down one of the best milkshakes I've ever had. No matter why you are passing by... this deserves a stop. We just ate lunch at the Huckleberry Patch. It was delicious! My husband got a hamburger and onion rings. He said the bread on the hamburger was amazing. I got the Alpine Cristo served with huckleberry jelly. It was just maybe the best one I've ever had. The prices were good and the place was clean. Then they have all kind of huckleberry desserts and man were they good ! Kira helped us with our order and she was so sweet. Then we shopped in the gift store. So many unique items to choose from. The Huckleberry Milkshakes are amazing, with real whole Hu ckleberries. There's a cute shop with food clean restrooms. Saw the local firefighters having the burgers and they looked really good. There's a burger finishing station where you can put the fresh lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, etc on the burger. Huckleberry everything when in the Big Sky Country! Hungry Horse is a small town that you drive through when going to the west end of Glacier National Park and Kalispell, so when we saw the sign of a restaurant called The Huckleberry Patch, with plenty of other signs indicating they had the best huckleberry pie and milkshake, we had to make a stop! The Huckleberry Patch is a restaurant and gift store with a lot of Huckleberry items to see and eat. The restaurant serves heartier, hot meals while the coffee counter is where you can easily get a slice of huckleberry pie and a huckleberry milkshake, which is what we ordered. The huckleberry pie was served warm and was delicious! Made with just huckleberries for the filling in a flaky pie crust, it was certainly worth coming here for. To top it off we had our huckleberry milkshake, which added that a la mode for the pie, as it was super creamy, with lots of huckleberry flavor! Ya gotta get these two items while at the Huckleberry Patch! I also was able to purchase some huckleberry gifts for friends, like huckleberry syrup and chocolate. But the gift store was large, with a lot of items to check out. I recommend making a stop at The Huckleberry Patch if this is your first time in the area and haven't had any huckleberry dessert.
