The inside was vibrant and very welcoming. Half the store was a gift shop for montana and huckleberry goodies, the other half was the food spot. Service was good, a bit slow due to the amount of people, but still decent. They ranned out of the pie 2 hours before the shop closed which sucks, but i got to try the other stuff. 3.2/5 - Huckleberry ice cream - Expected to be sweeter. Everyone was getting it so i hopped on the train. Single scoop already was huge so no complaints there. The taste though was only a little sweet and very tangy. I wished something more special came out of it, but just tasted like a sweeter but very tangy ice cream. Similar to a blue berry. 3.0/5 - Avalanche Puff - Flakey outside with a huge glob of jam in the middle. Some powder sugar on the puff pastry. Overall just lacking in flavor. Definitely looks the part, but it not being hot and so its not crispy as well just makes it very plain. Huckleberry flavor is there slightly sweet and tangy. 3.5/5 - Turnover - This was the best thing i've had, again it was decent. Feels like a meat pie kind of but instead of meat you got huckleberry jam. Decent, but i just wished for a stronger or more appearant sweetness coming from these desserts. Wished it was hot also, but all desserts were served cold. Overall it did not live up to the hype. Sadly i didn't get the try the pie which was the main reason. From the outside you'd totally think it was a tourist trap and maybe it kinda is but it's a really fun and charming little place, and we were quite impressed by the generous scoop of huckleberry ice cream, tasty huckleberry pie, and refreshing huckleberry lemonade. Wow this is THE place to go to for all things Huckleberry in Montana. We tried the Famous Huck Shake & a double scoop of huckleberry ice cream. Both were phenomenal and had huckleberry pieces in the icecream/shake. They also serve food here and it was quite packed! I assume it's delicious too! We got ours à la mode with caramel caribou which happened to be the best ice cream I've had in Montana and we also tried the huckleberry ice cream which was delicious as well. Wow! What a nice place- was expecting it to be a tourist trap. But you can really sense the pride they take in keeping up the quality of this place. Service wasn't quick, considering how busy they were. You order up at the counter and are given a buzzer. We ordered a huckleberry shake and wings with huckleberry jalapeño sauce. If you're visiting you know you are being advertised Huckleberry from everywhere. We stopped here and agreed it had the best Huckleberry pastries! We ordered their Huckleberry à la mode on two separate occasions and ordered their Huckleberry Arnold Palmer (free refills!). We got 4 refills of their Huckleberry Arnold Palmer. What a fun place to go for souvenirs lunch and great desserts. We didn't have any activities planned for the day, but had read reviews about this place. We spent about an hour and a half there. I wanted a shake but in her words "They aren't making shakes", yet the building has stamped outside "Fames Shakes". That's very miss leading, but the people actually serving the ice cream were super nice and understanding. But it's your typical tourist trap, huge gift shop and McDonald style dining area. Stopped by for just a couple of huckleberry shakes. Placing the order went ok. Slightly busy but had two people working the front and a couple people in the back making food and shakes. Things went sideways when a customer had a problem with order or food and took both front people to work on. People in back kept ringing the bell with completed orders filling up the window until one of the back guys came out front and started distributing food with an attitude toward front counter people. We had stopped here the day before after hiking for shakes and thought the menu looked good, so we stopped the next day for a late lunch. Like so many other places in the area you order from a counter and then sit and wait to pick up your food. Our group had a cheeseburger, BLT, kids cheese quesadilla and the Glacier Dip. The BLT and Glacier Dip were awesome. The kids said their cheeseburger and quesadilla were ok. Of course we had shakes again too. The shakes were perfection! Prices were good for the food, I think the drinks (iced tea, lemonade and a soda) were expensive at $4 each. I don't think they offered refills either? We stopped for a bite to eat on the way back from GNP. It is quite a busy tourist stop with an attached gift shop which is nicely appointed. Plenty of food gifts and other souvenirs to choose from. This is a stand in line and order type restaurant. We walked in, grabbed menus and ordered our food. The long line went quickly which was nice. You take a number to a table and wait for the number to be called. They do not bring out your food, you grab it from the counter. I ordered the original classic cheeseburger with onion rings. They have a separate spot to grab condiments and toppings for the burgers and sandwiches. Overall my cheeseburger was tasty. They don't cook to order which is disappointing as I would have preferred a medium burger but it did not taste overdone. The onion rings were crispy and well seasoned. We ordered the slice of huckleberry pie to share. It was super sweet, delicious. The crust was more moist than flaky but overall pretty tasty. The restaurant was clean and staff seemed efficient. The restrooms were located in the back of the gift shop and were clean. I thought it was a good spot to stop after visiting the park. read more

Awesome spot for souvenirs and a snack! Just like anything when you're traveling, the prices are more than you would typically think, but not so out of line that they were un affordable. We purchased lots of jelly and preserves to take back home, as well as some honey. We did not wait very long for our shakes or treats. I think that's probably based on what time you arrive. Super friendly staff. The only negative is that they consider preserves and jam the same which in the south it is two different things. Other than that, great place! There are couple burger options in the menu seems popular that everyone is ordering, i tried their mountain heat burger. I didnt get the HEAT with my burger, some pickled jalapeno inside that are not really spicy. my partner got the upgrade to bison burger, the patty doesnt teaste much difference. there's a station you can add extra union, cucumber and tomato to your burger as much as you want without a surcharge. their huckleberry ice cream is actually really good, i tried different places in the area and the huckleberry icecream here has most intense flavor. read more

This place serves good food especially the buffalo burger! Yum! Upon entrance of the Grill spot there's a sign to take a menu & find an available seat which proves to be a little confusing for some, but you eventually just figure it out....sit where there is no table top sign! Once we figured that out we viewed the menu & ordered at the counter. They have: burger, fries, fried picked, grilled cheese etc. The wait was about 15 minutes, food comes in baskets and a condiment bar is located in the main restaurant area. Seating is in two separate rooms high top bar seating, booths and table/ chairs close to ordering area. It's fairly big inside. Ordered: Bacon blue burger (bison addition), Patch's special w/ fries, fried pickles, kids burger and grilled cheese. All the employees were working really hard and wiping down tables-it was busy tourist season. Afterwards we tried the dessert area and ordered Huckleberry everything! Huckleberry was very good, ordered their shake, pie a'la mode and ice cream. Great spot to visit after visiting Glacier National Park. Stopped on our way out of Glacier, thinking we'd grab a quick burger. The gift shop and layout are quite well done. Lots of good stuff to spend your tourist dollars on. I recommend stopping to look it over. The Good - The burger was surprisingly good. Delicious and perfectly cooked bacon cheeseburger. And the fries were good. The Meh - Everything about the ordering process was just poorly done. All 'self service' and instructions aren't really well posted. We, and everyone else who walked in over the 30 minutes, looked around and finally found menus and stood around and then milled back to find the instructions. Oy. Staff wasn't providing any guidance. The Bad - Add to the 'self serve' style, the "Give A Shit Factor" of the staff approached zero like a cougar sneaking up on a gazelle. We were looking for food after a morning of hiking in Glacier National Park, and this place hit the spot! We were drawn in by the fact that it's been there since 1949, thinking that it must be good to have lasted that long. When you walk in, it's a really large store-think a souvenir shop mixed with the Cracker Barrel store. The restaurant is kind of small and gets busy, so be warned. I wanted to get something huckleberry since it's the thing in Montana, so I got the Original Classic burger. The huckleberry bbq sauce was so good! I can definitely see why it's so popular. After traveling to Montana for the first time with my fiancée and seeing all of the advertisements and buzz over Huckleberries (something foreign to us other than a Mark Twain novel) we decided to try the Huckleberry Patch for our first ever experience. We had the Huckleberry Pie à la mode, and it was spectacular. Huge scoop of ice cream and a nice sized slice of pie, it was delicious to share between the two of us after hiking and kayaking on a Sunday in Glacier NP. Nicely remodeled restaurant close to the glacier national Park entrance. this is a very well set up diner....where you order, self seat and they bring out your food. we had the monte cristo sandwich and a side salad, both were fresh and delicious. Our group also had hamburgers and they were very good. Sometimes you can get a Montecristo sandwich where it's too greasy, this one was not, it was so good. They also have a very nice souvenir shop with great T-shirts. hats, and huckleberry treats. We definitely recommend this as a great lunch spot and it is very family friendly as well. read more
