He is in his second year of ukulele lessons and has learned so much in a short period of time. Outside of the musical knowledge, my son has also gained confidence and begun to appreciate the enjoyment in music and performing. Outstanding teachers and I would highly recommend Jim Hickey Music.

I was worried about not having a referral because I didn't want to get locked into a contract or long term deal if she didn't want to stick with it. I spoke to Jim on the phone and told him want I was looking for and that I wanted my daughter to take the lead. Jim understood and was more than willing to be flexible. I immediately liked Jim and my daughter has enjoyed her lesson time with the studio. There is no pressure and it's a fun environment. My daughter wasn't sure if she wanted to continue her lessons after the first month but after working with Jim - she changed her mind - We've been with Jim since August and are looking forward to having a great time at the holiday concert and many more. Jim has some great students that have also been around a for a long time and I think that says a lot about Jim and his team. Thanks Jim for all you do!

This is from a very Adult Student! I restarted my piano lessons at the tender age of 64…read more (Admittedly, I did study for 4 years of piano lessons but with very little practicing and no recitals as a youngster). The teachers at Virtuoso have been great to encourage, inspire, and help me in every way to get through the usual obstacles. And now, looking back, I realize that the obstacles have been ALL been in my own mind. Fear of failure, fear of crowds (I am an intense introvert), fear of success (I'll have to perform somewhere unexpectedly), and other worries from who knows where. Ten years of lessons later, and after enduring many recitals, I feel well satisfied and am now ready to set a new goal. By the way, isn't enjoying life about setting goals and striving for success, even if it requires many disappointments? My next goal, I am excited to declare, (my teacher is unaware) is to memorize and perform at a public recital the familiar prelude of S. Rachmaninov's Op. 23, No 5. (listen in Google Music!). Big project for a guy 74 years of age! Thank you very much to Virtuoso School of Music and Art!!!

The proximity to resturants and retail us cool. Recently they have mandated the use of rental chair, removed quality restrooms for port-a-potty, mandated use of their provided libations with strict Coca-Cola use. (DASSANI is disgusting BTW), and use of same vendors over and over again thus lacking in diversity. The EPI staff is also not diverse nor do they have the best attitudes. I decided today would be my last AMP visit. I'll stick with the other two.

We found parking a couple of blocks away for free. Security was easy to get through. They have lawn seating or actual seats. Lots of beverage stations, also some food trucks. We had great seats right in front of the stage, but honestly there's not a bad seat here as it's not a huge venue. Ticket prices are kinda steep as are the alcohol beverages served up in a plastic cup. I guess that's the norm these days though. I paid $100 for 2 beers and 2 mixed drinks. Sound was really good for the concert, it ran on time and overall was a great show. Located at The Bowl in Ballantyne where there are plenty of eating and drinking places. Great venue!
