Had a great first experience here attending a concert featuring a few 80's British artists. The place is nice, well organized and easy to get in and out of. We found parking a couple of blocks away for free. Security was easy to get through. They have lawn seating or actual seats. Lots of beverage stations, also some food trucks. We had great seats right in front of the stage, but honestly there's not a bad seat here as it's not a huge venue. Ticket prices are kinda steep as are the alcohol beverages served up in a plastic cup. I guess that's the norm these days though. I paid $100 for 2 beers and 2 mixed drinks. Sound was really good for the concert, it ran on time and overall was a great show. Located at The Bowl in Ballantyne where there are plenty of eating and drinking places. Great venue! read more

The AMP is beautifully situated but inadequate in variius other capabilities such as its proximity to ample or sufficient parking, use of personal support items, or size. The proximity to resturants and retail us cool. Recently they have mandated the use of rental chair, removed quality restrooms for port-a-potty, mandated use of their provided libations with strict Coca-Cola use. (DASSANI is disgusting BTW), and use of same vendors over and over again thus lacking in diversity. The EPI staff is also not diverse nor do they have the best attitudes. I decided today would be my last AMP visit. I'll stick with the other two. read more

Open since 2023. As you read older reviews you can tell that many things have changed. You CANNOT bring your own chairs for the lawn, you must rent on-site. There are many more alcohol options. I'm not a beer drinker but I saw the prices: the least expensive domestic was $16.50 24 oz. They go up from there for imports and craft beers. They have food tucks as well. They have easily accessible bathrooms but they are SMALL. The ladies line was SO Long but the men's seemed to be much shorter and was moving quickly. The men's was very SMALL. Susan and I were there to see String Cheese Incident. It was not sold out but well attended. LADIES must have your purse checked for size. no larger than 6" X 9" otherwise you CANNOT enter. The other option is bring a plastic see through at 12" X 12". You go through security gates then another line to get your wrist band. We had reserved seating row O section 221 and tix were a little over $100 bucks with fees/taxes. I thought the acoustics were good and the stage was very large and easily viewable angles. We came from out of town specifically to see a concert here. I guess it used to be called The Bowl before the naming rights were sold. We found free parking in business parking decks few blocks away and walked over. Entrance and security were very easy and we picked a spot on the lawn to settle in. There are a few drink options, and food from an enclosed food truck park plus carts (we got a popsicle). The venue isn't very large, so there are decent sightlines. Although the summer has been very hot, we enjoyed a lovely, cool evening and one of the performers even commented on the sunset. One odd thing is that the backstage area was open and you could see cars driving on the road behind the venue (this concert had a screen but it did not fill up the entire space). Departure was very easy. There are a lot of competing venues in the area, but we'd come back for the right performers. read more

I decided to post my medical as-is to prevent any opportunity to question its validity. I will not advise anyone with disabilities to attend an event here unless you are certain it will not rain. I have yet to get my money back for this unattended event despite filing several requests. First, they could not find it. Then, after a second filing, Tixr's Refund Protection Support wanted me to provide proof of road closures, law enforcement intervention, or hazardous events for a refund, despite being told I no longer drive and the layout was a safety issue. I also submitted proof of disability. They did not care and never acknowledged my disability in their answer. Unfortunately, it had been raining all week where I was, including the day of the show. As a new transplant, I looked up the location hoping that there was some way to attend the concert because I had been to several when I was in NYC. I bought my ticket months in advance too. After seeing the layout and proximity to adequate shelter, I requested a refund due to mobility issues. The uploaded diagnosis was at the beginning of a progressive downhill slide. I was very upset at the discriminatory nature of this arrangement, which is structured for able-bodied individuals; a clear violation of the ADA. My next complaint will be filed with CFPB because of this unfair treatment and the flippant refusal to accommodate people with disabilities. I visited The Amp for an R&B fundraising event. The venue is quite comfortable (bring your chair and sit on the lawn). From my seat, I could see the stage and hear without interruption. There were venue seats, but they looked cramped, and more than half were empty. Closer to the stage, on the right, there were 4-person tables set up. All of the seating is in the hot sun, so come prepared. I brought a hat with a wide brim, which kept me sane mentally, but I still felt a lot of sweat running down my face and back. This is to be expected at an outdoor festival in the blazing sun. With proceeds donated from each ticket sold, the $10 + tax for a bottle of water in 80+ degree heat was too much. With alcohol on sale, patrons should have had access to water at a more reasonable price, e.g., $2. I won't attend their next event. However, I look forward to attending another music event at The Amp, as other reviews report many more food trucks and vendors. I purchased food from the first truck I visited. I ordered a steak flatbread, and it was delicious. The price ($20) was on point. Sadly, the few food trucks on site couldn't sell any liquids or water. I had to endure my 3-hour stay with one bottle of water. There were only a few vendors, so it wasn't much of a shopping trip for me. The women's restroom was clean, and an attendant was on duty, a plus on a hot day. Parking wasn't much of a problem. The area is excellent for entertainment, with a plethora of restaurants and bars. This made for congested parking at the venue. I parked in one of the recommended garages, and it was a short walk to the festival (less than 10 minutes, depending on pace). read more

My first show since moving here and very happy! The outdoor space is great. A cool grassy knoll to watch the band with bars right there for alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Beach chairs encouraged, and room to dance if you're feeling the vibe. Bartender was friendly and quick. Already planning on my next show. read more

I bought two tickets for a Primus Concert VIP. As always with concert tickets, I purchased insurance for each ticket which would reimburse if something happened and I could not attend. My mother passed away a month before the concert, she died in her sleep unexpectable, so my life was turned upside down. She lived in another state so I had to relocate for a while to clean up the aftermath and I couldn't attend. The insurance that I purchased was worthless. It would not reimburse. So I reached out, keep in mind weeks before the concert, and The AMP management would not reimburse, nor would they let me resell or give the tickets away. I will never attend another event, nor will I ever recommend the AMP for an event to friends or family. What a cold-hearted group of people. $600 down the drain!! Beware of the insurance. Saw String Cheese Incident with The Wood Brothers in mid-May. The venue was very convenient, and we had a great time. There were limited options for beverages (like only 4 beers and two were IPAs) a seltzer, a hard tea, and some canned wines. There were mixed drinks, but again limited at most of the beverage stands. Prices were so high that I would expect more than a couple of options. The bathrooms for non-VIP ticket holders were port-a-johns, but I walked right into the VIP bathroom because no one was checking wristbands or anything. It is also not labeled as VIP, it just said restrooms. My big problem though, and one I hope they fix, is that while we were all dancing and having a blast the lights came on at 9:00. They stayed on for the rest of the show. I felt like I was at a baseball game instead of on the lawn at a concert. Some bands have light shows (this one did) and the shows start and end early, so we really need that natural darkness to enjoy the lights and the vibe. Other than that, it was a fun place. read more

Horrific customer service at check in! Made us walk back back to my car because my wife's purse was too big. It was almost 90 degrees outside and I get it...rules. Then as we walked back we went under the que rope to meet the folks at check in. We we're immediately reprimanded and told to walk to the end of the que. We love this new venue! We saw the Turnpike Troubadors here this past weekend and had the absolute best time. The venue itself is the perfect location right near a bunch of restaurants and the new OMB location. I thought the security and entry process was organized. There were several food trucks set up inside to enjoy before the show. The sun sets behind the stage and since it was a little cloudy, the sky was absolutely beautiful. We had lawn seats and there is a great view of the stage from any angle. They have a few kinks to iron out as to be expected. They ran out of alcohol and bottled waters pretty early on. The bathrooms are not nearly big enough to accommodate 4,500 people and they needed more port a johns. Otherwise, we love this spot and can't wait to enjoy events here for years to come! read more

You need to give your employees training on how to do their job. Went to yacht rock last night and it was chaos on entering. Kept being shuffled to different lines and then was screamed at by an employee for "cutting" when we were shuffled to the line. She was extremely rude and not helpful. I paid good money for these tickets only to be screamed at. Not cool. read more

Here enjoying the Charlotte International Arts Festival festivities! Plenty of room and spacing available! The space is surrounded by a fence, so anyone can't just walk up at any time. I would assume events have to be planned and scheduled. No actual seating provided. This is definitely a BYOS (bring your own seating) type of outdoor venue spacing. The facility is quietly located in Ballantyne on the back side of the resort. The layout is a smaller version of Verizon Amphitheater. The hungry can be satisfied by food trucks and the drink stands are plentiful. The facility has no bad lawn seats, and ample close stage seats. The sound quality is very good throughout, it is worth a trip. The place is well staffed with security and venue staff. read more

All things were good until not being allowed to use "indoor VIP bathroom" at a 50* rainy event!!! The bathroom was empty but was still not allowed to use the bathroom after spending $100 plus at this venue! This place needs to reevaluate their policies. I certainly won't be spending any money at this place when not provided with a proper public bathroom for a paying client!!! It's fine to keep serving drinks at ridiculous prices yet not providing proper facilities. Ballantyne needs to do better! read more
