I was worried about not having a referral because I didn't want to get locked into a contract or long term deal if she didn't want to stick with it. I spoke to Jim on the phone and told him want I was looking for and that I wanted my daughter to take the lead. Jim understood and was more than willing to be flexible. I immediately liked Jim and my daughter has enjoyed her lesson time with the studio. There is no pressure and it's a fun environment. My daughter wasn't sure if she wanted to continue her lessons after the first month but after working with Jim - she changed her mind - We've been with Jim since August and are looking forward to having a great time at the holiday concert and many more. After 50 hours for each kid, only 5 pages of their books have been completed. My son is preparing for Math 1 for 7th grade and he performed beyond the assigned C2 book so was bored and had to bring in his own school work, which the tutor was ineffective with because he only talks about his dog. I complained and the center manager told me it was "on brand" for that tutor. My daughter tried to be more collaborative, but at the expense of her own learning. Again, passing the level of the books.
