I don't care how matted you claim he was, this is just plain wrong. He has been this matted before and his cut came out lovely. Not only did they charge $155 or so for the cut, I just came back from the vet with a $200 bill because of possible skin infections and scabs. My bernedoodle puppy loved being groomed by Melina and Emily. My dog loved them so much that she didn't even want to come back into the house after her grooming. The Houndstooth is so good with our dog and they come right to my house and park in the driveway so it's convenient with my schedule. When they arrive we chatted about how much hair to cut and any other issues like nails, her face, etc. She was in the van about 1.5 hours. They were so great with her and I am so HAPPY with how she looks. Other groomers in my area were not as good as The Houndstooth. My friend had recommended The Houndstooth and now I also recommend them, too! read more

I have been a customer of this company for years, but I'm no longer using them. they frequently change the times they're coming at the last minute, and the last time I couldn't coordinate there last minute changes they charged me 56$. I am a Mobile groomer from RI work in MA. These comments have me reeling. You're paying for the service and convenience of mobile grooming it will always cost more. Dont buy a fancy breed "purebred" if you're not willing to pay the cost of grooming and upkeep. People are so quick to pay thousands for a trendy breed and then complain about the price of grooming. I like these guys but their fees are out of control. my wife offered to pay them on the spot and they told her they emailed an invoice what they didn't tell her was that they would charge us five dollars a day until it was paid. They are not responding to my texts or emails or phone calls and their mailbox is full so I cannot leave a message very disappointed in the customer service here. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Our dog has a fear of groomers and we've had two tell us that she can't be worked with. What a great service! From beginning to end it was a success! Once you book your appt. you'll receive reminders/notifications via text. The window they gave for arrival was 11:30-12:30 and was accurate. Thee actual grooming took about a hour and half which is normal for my girl. The commercial van parked right in front of my home and was hassle free. The best part was that they specialized in my breed (Westie/Terrier)and knew what to do and what the previous groomer did wrong. They even gave her a little pink bow..so cute. Today I was boarding 2 dogs that were supposed to be groomed by Houndstooth Mobile Grooming and they just never showed up! In my opinion this is extremely unprofessional & disrespectful. I got two grooms for my dog, from this place, the first maintenance groom with no bath for my labradoodle was 140.00 $, not including tip. I almost fainted with that amount. Crazy..usually a maintenance groom is like 40.00-60.00.. I then decided to get a second the full groom, because I was desperate for a grooming appt after my dog had been sick. My dog not feeling well, with the price being 195.00 + tip.. Well, I had explained to the groomer that my dog had been sick with a UTI for several weeks, because the antibiotics were not getting rid of it. Finally, she got on the right antibiotics and she was good. I continued to explain, that I was so happy to make my dog feel better with a nice bath and alot less hair and curls. Well, after 225.00 later, I get my dog she looks good but, seems a bit longer than normal? After her curls settles down after being blown dry, she is now looking so long her hairl after 2.5 just weeks from the full groom. I texted and spoke to someone, that is an issue too, you text there usually #, they say they never got it and they give you another phone # to call or text? Kinda shady. Then I send them picts of my Labradoodle, tons of hair under her neck, her ears so weighted heavily on her, for 225.00? You expect the dog to be all set until the next maintenance groom.in Febuary.. The owner Mikeuela, did not nothing to resove the issue, she just continued to be combative..I actually, read some bad things about them abd her via reviews but again I thought I would see for myself. Bad idea. BUYER BEWARE!!! TRY EVERY OPTION BEFORE YOU GO TO THEM. Mikeula is greedy, greed does not get you anywhere in business!! I do not recommend this business. I had three good experiences with them. Two of which they parked in my driveway and one where they parked in front of my apartment. On the visit today, I was sent a text message saying they could not find a space in front and they could not get into my driveway because they didn't want to scratch their van. So they LEFT! I was horrified and livid for several reasons: 1. Our dog is supposed to be in our wedding the following weekend and we had booked this appointment over two months in advance. 2. They made it into our driveway the past two times without any complaints or problems so I do not understand what the issue was this time. 3. When asked why they couldn't pick my dog up and park on the side street (which there are two of them less than 25 yards away). She stated it was raining!!! - I cannot believe the audacity. 4. This groomer said she was moving away and could not make it any clearer that she did not care about me, her reputation, or my dog (who was then left alone for hours because I obviously had not planned to be completed dismissed and rudely cancelled on). 5. After pleading that it's my wedding coming up and knowing how hard it is to get an appointment with a groomer she told me she was gone and in another town already- which is only about 15/20 minutes away. O, and she mentioned a referral that was 10 weeks booked out. Thanks a lot. 6. There was no way to reach a live person and try to figure out a way to resolve this. My text messages were then ignored and any phone number I had of theirs went directly to an automated service. 7. I will be telling all of my friends who use this groomer to steer clear because they are not thinking of the dogs, they are lacking all integrity, and in one of my biggest times of need, my wedding weekend, I was completely ignored and disregarded. This groomer was moving on and didn't seem to give one care about my dog, our situation, or our report from previous encounters. I wasn't home, it was raining, and she didn't feel like backing into my driveway so she canceled (and had the audacity to say she drove around the block twice, as if that's trying). All I got was a "I'm sorry" "I couldn't risk scratching the van" "I can't park far away in the rain". Then no response at all. I'm so upset with how awful this whole experience has been. The lack of empathy, selfishness, and inability to problem solve is abhorrent. read more

This company needs new drivers. I was on I-95 heading into Providence and one of their drivers in the company van, wanted to get into the lane I was in and came from behind me in right lane and then started to turn into me by my passenger door forcing me to slightly move over and stop. I even beeped thinking maybe they didn't notice I was next to them but they looked in the mirror and continued to push me over. Train your drivers or get new ones. This is very unprofessional for a company and makes you look bad. The driver was a brunette with a bun driving around 2:00pm. I have a kid in my car and would rather not get in an accident. I do not recommend this groomer at all they overcharge for a standard affair they quote low to get you in the door and then charge well over it once it's all done and over with. Boss was rude and completely disrespectful. My dog came back with cuts all over and scabs that lasted for weeks. Edit: It was definitely Houndstooth. I have the original email which was from a Kathryn. We gave a detailed original message with pictures to which you replied with a quote of $80-$100. This was our first time grooming Winston and we wanted advice on whether hand stripping would be appropriate, to which you replied that that was the healthier option because of Schnauzer bumps. When he came back after 4 hours in the van with no contact or updates from your groomer, his head was completely bald and raw from the hand stripping which clearly had been a painful ordeal for him. You knew he was too young to be hand-stripped from the pictures and our initial email, but you decided to advise us to do it anyway because you knew you could bill more. Then we heard the bill, which was $134.82 -- over 30% higher than what was supposed to be the maximum possible charge. When we called on the phone to dispute the bill, since it was A) way outside the range you quoted and B) paying extra when we were extremely unhappy with the result and worried what kind of pain he had to go through to get that result; you were extremely rude and said we would be blacklisted from houndstooth for daring to try to dispute a charge.
