I've been coming here over 3years and this is the only groomer who seems to listen to what the owner wants the pet to look. They do a great job . Always personable. Clean. They don't crate all the dogs and they don't keep them all day which is great since Louie ( you poodle) is a nervous nelly! They call promptly when done. I recommend them highly!!

Awful! Twice we groomed our dog here and BOTH times, he came back with kennel cough. Rude people. Stay away!

They are located next door to my gym, so I can drop off our "favorite child" and she is spa treated and returned by the time I'm done. At least one of us is smelling fresh and looking rejuvenated. There have been a few times when we could not pick her up right a way..no problem. Becky played daycare and hosted our little girl until we arrived later in the day. Her prices are more than reasonable too. If you need some independent verification... Sit outside for a few minutes and watch the sheer volume of pets that she handles on a daily basis. My husky is not just a pet; she's part of my family. So to say I don't just trust her with anyone…read moreis a large understatement. When I moved to Bristol a few years back, I was turned onto this place by my then fiancée. She had told me about Designer Dogs and that she's taken her two lap dogs there for years and told me they are very good. So I figured I would give them a try. I have to say the owner and staff is beyond nice. Personable, pleasant and you can tell they love their work. Which by the way in this line of work you have to love animals. Plus I can tell my dog gets treated very well here. Every time we walk in the door, her tail is wagging; she gets up on her hind paws to peek over the counter. The fact that she gets this excited tells me she loves coming here. Plus you can't beat the prices. I have a Siberian Husky and for a grooming session it only costs me about $25.00. Every time I pick her up she smells so nice, her coat looks shiny and clean and her paws are filed down at just the right length. They have multiple rooms so they split up the dogs based on the size of them. If you do happen to give this place a try, keep in mind they only accept cash or check, no credit/debit cards. I highly recommend Designer Dogs. The price, service and the staff are a great combination!

Absolutely under no circumstances bring your dog to this guy…read more Look at the photos of my shy, RESCUE, Border Collie and give me one sane explanation as to why he treated her like this - that doesn't make your mind go to the sickest of places. This type of "grooming" doesn't happen by accident. I took my Border Collie to be groomed based on all of the positive reviews. DONT BE DUPED like we were. David VERY closely shaved her butt, tail, anal and other intimate areas. Only half way up her body. That is all he did. You are NEVER supposed to shave a border collie. We had discussed that on the phone and stipulated and agreed upon a grooming plan in person when we arrived. Instead of grooming her appropriately ... he had his own plan. He just obsessed over her genital areas and tried to return her with 1/2 a coat and charge us $80. Mats remained in her ears and under her elbows. She wasn't even brushed. He didn't even WASH her. Now we are all questioning why it is called "Dirty Dog Grooming." Even our vets office couldn't help but wince at the coincidence after they had to examine her. Her tail was between her legs. Worse, she reeked of fish and fecal matter suggesting she was in such terror that she released her anal glands. (Vet confirmed). HE IS DISTURBING, ABUSIVE and AGGRESSIVE to both dogs and people. (We later found out he was directly responsible for the death of a dog a few years ago, but due to loose grooming regulations in Rhode Island - continues to groom). Our vet said this was one of the POOREST grooming situations she had ever seen. They described it as odd, bizarre, poorly done, and concerning. Their office also told me my dogs beautiful coat may never grow back the same as it was. They provided documentation for me to share with any necessary channels to help warn others of this man. Beware! The grooming happens in his personal basement with just him and the animal (not a salon as advertised), which made me kind of uneasy. He clipped her nails right in front of us so he seemed to know what he was doing. Hmm or was he not skilled enough to do this without us there? Now I'm Kicking myself for not considering that. I've been keeping a consistent home grooming routine with Story so she wasn't a huge grooming mess- truthfully she has been in the past after many beach trips and even then...she was still groomed appropriately. David seemed very odd, but my boyfriend and I both kind of chalked it up to him being an animal person who maybe didn't jive with people. As animal lovers, we've met many people who love the dog park, but hate a dinner party. We were so wrong. There is something deeply disturbing about his operation. Not only did David deny shaving her, but there are clear buzz cut trails that are easy to see bc they are so uneven and in some places clipped down to her pink skin. He didn't wash her. He didn't get her mats out in any other area. It looks awful and it's so so creepy. What is the point of paying such attention to an animals genitals?? She was not in need of shearing or a Brazilian wax and trim - this may sound humorous, but I assure you that the delicately trimmed hairs around my dogs private area would make you sick. Other professional groomers confirmed his blades were dull and not sanitary to leave such offending marks on her body and by the look of her coat. Honestly, Why would you shave half of a long haired border collies back and 1/5 of her tail? When we confronted David about this he immediately began screaming and yelling incredibly derogatory terms at us. Terms that are hateful and not even appropriate to type. He threatened if this was "20 years ago" he would handle this physically and had a crazy look in his eyes while lumbering around his yard (without a mask during covid19) and screaming "She looks fine, and you're just drunk!" We had just been at the hospital visiting our infant daughter who is finally getting to come home from the NICU--the entire reason we wanted to groom our dog. If you just made a mistake wouldn't you handle this in another manner? Why flip out unless you have something to hide? I called the police to ask how we should handle it bc this is animal abuse. There is no way this guy is licensed. Collectively, we are working with the Warren Police Department and Animal Control to get to the bottom of this sordid situation. Unfortunately, this is not just "a bad dog hair cut' - ONLY her intimate areas are shaved and she wasn't groomed elsewhere. This is so disturbing.
